If you believe the more sinister reports it's pretty much Messi who picks the manager, squad and starting 11 and tactic.

Unless you are on his good side you are out. He throws tantrums when he doesn't get his wish and is basically a giant entitled baby.

But that is quite likely bull. Then again watching a game like tonight you can't help but wonder.

On the flip side, how good was Modric tonight? Did he even misplace one pass? Total masterclass, played like Scholes/Pirlo/Xavi all rolled into one.

He was almost as good as Sid Cowans.

Btw Messi has been a disgrace in this tournament. If Rooney had put them displays in it would be front page headlines

Yeah, agreed - looked like one big sulk.

Someone mentioned the Argentina FA, what's up with them?

Busy trying to cover up the sexual assault allegations against manager Sampaioli?

Isn't he the reason Icardi didn't go, despite being in terrific form for Inter?

Some decent players there but balance is so wrong.

Otamendi though...outside of the Man. City system that protects him he's been shown up for the bog standard defender he is.

Agree. On paper there are still some brilliant players there but if you asked someone to set Argentina up worse they would struggle.

Back 3 consisting of a CB and two predominate full-backs, 2 bang average wingers at wing-back. Then Mascherano in a midfield 2; no Banega, no Di Maria, no Dybala. What on earth?

He's always come across to me as having the attitude of a petulant child.

Should never be their captain, the guy isn't a leader in the slightest. Has proved this on numerous occasions, his performance today being a prime example.

Someone is for them at least.

Changing from a 4-3-3 to a 3-4-3 and swapping out half the starting 11 you kinda could guess it wouldn't work out.

Pretty much. Icardi nicked Maxi Lopez wife. Maxi Lopez was at Barca when Messi came as a young player so they get on very well.

Bigger scandal is Dybala hardly getting a game despite being great for Juventus because he takes up Messi's space on the pitch.

Dunno his hat trick got them to the finals and they lose a huge chunk of their games when he's not playing.  There are way too many faults with the team really.

thats where your management comes in to it, as good as dybala has been for juve messi has been better for barca and the argies, find a way of fitting them both in, playing dybala out on the right isnt it

to me at times tonight they looked like the last couple of england teams, didnt want to be there, not enjoying it and therefore not working or playing for each other
