The videos coming out of the bombings are the worst things I've ever seen. I do think they should be played on every news channel though, so that everyone can see what is really going on. Just hearing or reading about it isn't enough.

I'll be giving my kids an extra big hug when they get home later.

But do you condemn Hamas?

Etc etc.

The Saudis now in a high state of readiness after some more clashes with Houti fighters.

The escalation on multiple fronts is really dangerous and just from my personal opinion, not really the case of Iran directing these attacks from their backed militia groups. More of the case that they have backed these groups for these purposes and now the groups are taking advantage or feeding into the bloodlust of this conflict.

Russia must be jumping with glee as it will cause funding/munitions to be pulled away from Ukraine.

Continuously ugly to see and I wonder how long China can play peacekeeper. They will be, in a lot of ways, naturally aligned with Russia but there's a whole lot of negatives for them too.

Video footage showing the moment a tank opened fire on a car in northern Gaza has emerged - amid fears a family were killed.

Yousaf Al Saifi, the Gaza-based journalist who captured the video, has told Sky News he later saw the tank fire on a "bus full of families".

It comes after Israel's military confirmed over the weekend that its tanks had entered northern Gaza as part of its response to Hamas's surprise attack on 7 October.

In Mr Al Saifi's footage, a car can be seen driving down a quiet section of the Salah Al Din road, the main highway in Gaza which spans the entire length of the territory, before it encounters the tank at Netzarim junction.

The driver then appears to spot the tank before turning his vehicle in the road to drive away.

However, after the driver has turned around, the tank opens fire and strikes the car with a shell.

There will be thousands of these kinds of incidents, line there's been thousands of them every year for the Palestinian people. Little moments of meaningless violence.

The journalist involved had better be careful. He's set to get 'accidentally' shot.

I also think that China are getting ready to use this conflict of going into Taiwan.

Worrying times to be honest....

We just don't have intelligent statesmen with calm heads anymore to try and resolve this long term problem in the middle east.

The problem is how can you come to compromise resolution to this conflict if the hamas covenant is to kill all Jews and destroy Israel, in addition to other vested interests.....where do you even start finding any middle ground that is acceptable all?

Good thing Israel has cut off power and electricity and internet so they control almost all of the information that gets out from Gaza. Imagine the horrors we would see if the people there could upload it to the world. Even Biden and the likes would have trouble pretending they we're fighting for good when facing hundreds and hundreds of videos of children slaughtered on a daily basis.

No chance. China has a lot of internal issues to deal with, especially the imminent collapse of the construction sector which is 25% of their economy. Also unlike Hamas Taiwan is very well armed and has US support.

There is a paywall article in the Haaretz with a leaked document about what the Israeli plan is for the area and Palestinian people. Obviously I don't subscribe to the Haaretz but one of the Swedish papers has the synopsis.

A leaked Israeli intelligence document reportedly shows Israel's plan for Gaza after the end of the war, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports .

The document should show, among other things, a plan to move Palestinian residents to the Sinai Peninsula in northern Egypt.

In the leaked document, which is dated October 13, there are several proposed plans for Gaza's future after the war.

One of them is, among other things, that Israel first wants to move Palestinians to tent cities, before permanent cities are built, according to Haaretz.

There should also be a plan for a buffer zone several kilometers long in Egypt, to ensure that Palestinians cannot return and settle near Israel's border.

The document also contains a form of crisis plan, as it is expected that the plans will be met with international condemnation. The authorities should therefore present the relocation of the Palestinians "as a way to help refugees flee war", reports the newspaper.

The document must also contain two alternative plans for the future of Gaza, where Palestinians are not relocated. To either install an Israeli-controlled Palestinian government, or to support an existing regime. However, the plans are dismissed in the document, as they are not considered sufficient to deter attacks against Israel, writes Haaretz.

:snip:

Israel's intelligence service has confirmed the document's existence, but downplayed its significance, according to Haaretz. According to them, the government is not expected to discuss the adoption of the proposal, and the intelligence service is not the state authority that would be responsible for such a decision, the newspaper writes.

Israeli Intel Ministry Suggests Relocating Gazans to Sinai After Hamas War

A draft document prepared by the Israeli intel ministry suggests an option to initially relocate Gaza's population to tent cities in northern Sinai. This is a first indication of a possible exit strategy to the war by the political leadership

War has always been pretty good for business and very good for burying your domestic bad news. Internal issues with the Chinese economy to my mind make it more likely they'll try something.

Ethnic cleansing is the systematic forced removal of ethnic, racial, and religious groups from a given area, with the intent of making a region ethnically homogeneous. Along with direct removal, extermination, deportation or population transfer, it also includes indirect methods aimed at forced migration by coercing the victim group to flee and preventing its return, such as murder, rape, and property destruction.[3][4][5] It constitutes a crime against humanity and may also fall under the Genocide Convention, even as ethnic cleansing has no legal definition under international criminal law.[3][6][7]

How on earth have the two main parties in this country got themselves so caught up in tricksy language and supporting an extremist right wing government in Israel that when thousands of children are killed and residential areas are being bombed flat they cannot countenance the use of the word ceasefire?

The absolute panic at there being any loss of control to a point where there cannot be any discussion or debate or challenge.

What an utterly grim state we are in at the moment. Pox on them all.

I guess the difference is one side has the means to do it and the other side just has the will.

If Hamas had the firepower Israel has, there wouldn't have been an Israel many years ago. It's literally in their manifesto to destroy the Jews.

18% percent of those living in Israel are Palestinians / Muslim. Obviously it's not blissful tranquillity, but it's a lot better than any Jew walking through any predominantly Muslim country on earth.

<1% in Gaza are Christians / Jews. Algeria, Egypt, Syria, Iraq all had Jewish settlements effectively removed, as let's be honest you just cannot be Jewish in many predominantly Muslim countries. There is a deep almost DNA level hatred.

If the shoe was on the other foot, Israel itself would have failed to exist a long time ago.

If im not mistaken every neighboring country made declarations or documents or promises to destroy Israel. And in all of the Israel wars United States never ever directly send their army to fight for Israel they only give money.
