Vive_La_Villa
Whelan was decent for our good run early in this season. He is fresh so might be ok. Suprised no O'Hare on the bench but the team is more than good enough to beat a depleted Sheff Wed team. 2-0 Villa.

BleedClaretAndBlue
They have Joao & Nuhiu starting, Rhodes on the bench. Thought they had no fit forwards?

Daweii
Regardless what the plan is I'm going to wait for the result before complaining as it achieves nothing. Focus on the positives like seeing Grabban finally start and hope for a win..
Nigel Posted February 24, 2018 VT Supporter Share Posted February 24, 2018 Happy with that, need some pace down the left and Grabban should offer that. Toss up between Lansbury and Anomah in the centre.

I’d have had barney in not whelan , and Lansbury for Hourihane . surprised o hare not on the bench though as he offers that creativity Edited February 24, 2018 by Eastie

alreadyexists Posted February 24, 2018 VT Supporter Share Posted February 24, 2018 (edited) Really pleased for RHM to get a spot on the bench, could really be his foot in the door like Davis earlier this season. poitier
Looks a decent enough team to get all three points today.

Brave decision to have a 2 man midfield with whelan if it is that I'd agree - a two of Hourihane and Whelan will struggle a little I think. The alternative is having Hogan up front on his own without a lot of runners around him, which he's proved time and again he can't do and moving Grabban out left meaning he'll have signed as a striker and played both sides of midfield in his first two games for us. I'm going with the 4-4-2 based on the idea that it's the formation that's disrupts least players - I guess we'll see.
Brumstopdogs
Not sure about the number 2 for Sheffield Wednesday - sounds like a bit of a word removed

Why are you writing us off before we even kick a ball. If in your eyes playing two particular players means we certainly lose to a depleted bottom half Sheff Wed team then you must have given up on promotion a long time ago.
OutByEaster? Posted February 24, 2018 Moderator Share Posted February 24, 2018 I'm not overly familiar with their line up - who are the danger men? Where are the weaknesses? I think a lot for us depends today on how Onomah starts the game - if he's in the mood he was in for the second half against Preston we can dominate if he's in his first half mood then there's going to be a lot of work for the other midfielders.
