I'd like to see that again but sure looked like Pope got the ball before the man.

You can't completely wipe the man out after touching the ball. Rugby tackles don't become acceptable just because you touch the ball first.

But what Meslier just did to the word removed Mee is acceptable?

Didn't see it, but one decision being wrong doesn't invalidate the other correct decision. That was a clear penalty.

There would seem a perfect way of overcoming this ignoring of random events;  Just give each manager a one time call to review a situation, like they use in tennis!

You can't compere the two.

One was, the keeper touched the ball, then took the player out, the other,  the keeper touched the ball, then took the player out

It's an absolute farce. Surely VAR should be flagging up decisions such as that disallowed Burnley goal! The Leeds goalie cleaned the Burnley player out.

It was the refs fault tbh, he should have just let the move continue then let VAR clean it up.

Its exactly the same as when Kevin Friend stole our point off us against Crystal Palace early last season!

Just poor officiating!

Goalkeepers are given too much lenciency sometimes. He fouled Mee. Poor officiating. Whether he gets the ball or not, doesn't matter. He clattered him. Shocking knee in the back.

Reminds of when Engels got punched in the face by the Bournemouth goalkeeper last season.

The standard of refeering in this league continues to amaze.

The big point is that the standard of officiating should not matter now we have gone with VAR.

Makes me double furious when we see obvious mistakes like this when we have to sit through 5 minutes of replays every time we score a goal.

The technology means we shouldnt have mistakes like this!

The fact that he blew for a foul before the goal means VAR couldn't even review it. What's the point of technology (and it's terrible implementation) if referees are getting such obvious decisions wrong.

But the argument in the Brighton Villa game was he got a microscopic touch on the ball but took Trez out, so no pen.

The lack of consistency is the problem.

VAR could and should have reviewed it and given a penalty for the foul by Meslier on Mee.

Yet the ref can blow the final whistle for a game and a decision can be reviewed afterwards. Makes no sense.
