...any Wagner attempt to take control of Rostov-on-Don could have an impact on the war in Ukraine because Rostov is home to the Russian southern military district command, which has been key to Russia's war efforts.

The southern military district’s 58th combined arms army is “currently decisively engaged in defensive operations against Ukrainian counteroffensives in southern Ukraine, and the command centre for the Russian joint group of forces in Ukraine as a whole”, it says.

The M4 highway has been closed at the border between Lipetsk and Voronezh regions, the Lipetsk governor says.

Earlier he said a Russian military convoy was on the highway.

The M4 connects Moscow to southern regions including Rostov and its main city Rostov-on-Don, where armed men have been seen.

Video claiming to show Yevgeny Prigozhin inside Russia's southern military headquarters in Rostov-on-Don is circulating online. In the video Prigozhin says his troops will blockade the city and move on to Moscow unless defence chiefs Sergei Shoigu and Valery Gerasimov come to meet them.

What happens if this Priz fella gets what he wants. Does the war in Ukraine continue? Given he’s mentioned that the whole thing is a joke and that Ukraine and NATO have no intention of attacking Russia, is that him saying the war needs to end?

Basically, is he pro/anti war in Ukraine?

What's striking to me is that the bald fella has been publicly calling out the reasons for the war to start, and has now just broadcast that casualties are 10 times higher than what is broadcast on TV, and that the Russians are covering up the amount of territory being conceded. He also now controls the southern military bases. I can't see how Moscow negotiates from here - this guy is not going to suddenly tow the line is he. In other words, it looks like a battle of truths - if there is to be a fight then that's surely due, subject to Moscow's reaction.

Ah, good. Doesn’t sound like Putin wants to cut a deal. Civil war is back on!

Even if Putin did "want to do a deal", how do you trust him not to agree to something, then have you and your men killed as soon as you don't have 25,000 soldiers camped in one of his cities?

There's no way back from this, surely.
