That was 98 if I remember rightly. I've still got memories of Nii Lamptey and Joey Beachamp knocking them in all summer.

In no particular order, but these are the ten that stand out for me.....

Red Dead Redemption 2
GTA 5
Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Sensible World of Soccer
Football Manager (In all CM and FM iterations!)
MS Flight Simulator
Civ 5
Sim City
Operation Flashpoint
Microprose Grand Prix (on the Amiga!)

I am noticing that there's more modern games on there than old one's - think that's a reflection of the quality of some of the games coming out now, and the advances in production.

With that in mind some honourable mentions are:-

Stunt Car Racer
Hard Drivin'
Mercenary: Escape from Targ
Treasure Island Dizzy
Road Rash

You've mentioned a few racing games and made me think of old school car games now;

Revs (BBC)
Super Sprint (Atari ST)
Super Cars II (Amiga)
Chase HQ (Arcade)
Outrun (Arcade)
Micromachines (I can't remember what I played this on first?)
Ivan Ironman Stewarts Super Off-road (Amiga)

I'm now off to see if I can play any of these online.

Thank the flying spaghetti monster for your reply, it got me off ruining my childhood memories with trying to play Revs online! OMG, I couldn't even get the car to move! if you want a go:

Revs (BBC) - http://bbcmicro.co.uk//jsbeeb/play.php?autoboot&disc=http://bbcmicro.co.uk//gameimg/discs/267/Disc015-Revs.ssd&noseek

Bit of a sad tangent but reading Beauchamp’s name in your post sparked a few memories of ChampMan in the mid/late 90’s.

Just Google’s him and found out he took his own life in February this year. Pretty sad.

That's awful. I genuinely had no idea. I've just read he struggled with mental health issues. I wish anyone who is struggling so badly could get access to the help they need before taking similar horrific actions.

Wow, great list. Close to this for me too.

I would add Final Fantasy 7 (original) on PS1. I played that every day for months on end in the 90's.

Same with SWOS on the Amiga.

Watching that Goldeneye doc on Sky last week and remembering just how many hours of joy I got from it (both single and multiplayer).

Not usually one I'd previously considered for my all time list but I definitely think it should be up there.
