Aston Villa have signed Biggleswade Town’s 17 year old Keinan Davies on a professional contract. Villa have trialled the young Wader over the last four weeks and offered an eighteen-month contract to turn professional.

Davies, who has featured in the Waders` first team squad, is one of a number of very good players who under-18 Manager Dave Northfield has assembled. He picked up a several players released by pro clubs and their recent performances have drawn the attention of many League clubs.

Northfield said “Keinan is a great young lad, a gifted player who has earned a second chance. Several months ago he was released by Stevenage, coming to Biggleswade as a young lad feeling that he had a future but unsure what direction to take. Hard work and a real talent have lifted the young lad and he has shown he has a great future. We believe that several other players will attract more attention - a second chance and a pathway in this great game.

Keinan Davies grabbed a brace as Villa's U18s recorded an impressive win over Arsenal in windy conditions at Bodymoor Heath.

With several senior players missing due to their involvement with U21 action this week, eight first-year scholars started the game.

Attacking with the wind, Villa pinned Arsenal into their own half from the start and took the lead through a well taken goal from Davies.

The Gunners hit back with their first attempt on goal to draw level before the home side deservedly re-took the lead on 40 minutes.

This came courtesy of a fine finish from Davies after excellent link play from Jake Hayes and Kelsey Mooney.

In the second half the claret and blues combated the conditions extremely well and were well in control of the game until a long ball eluded Matija Sarkic and allowed Arsenal to draw level.

With both sets of players tiring in the tough conditions, the claret and blues showed some real character and won the game with a fine individual goal from substitute Liam Hailey.

He drifted in from the right hand side and fired home from 25 yards.

Cool, we're dead and buried, no chance of survival, may as well give our prospects first team experience.

Reading a few reports online and apparently he is an attacking midfielder with eye for goal rather than a striker.. Transfer Market have him down as Midfielder/Attacking Midfielder

According to everything else he is though, assume an error on the team sheet

Yep, not like the first time that Villa have messed up spelling a name: remember when they put it as: Remy Garde ;)

Checking his old teams twitter (Non-League) team and they have it down as Davies, and Villa as Davies on all u18 match reports

The BBC has it as Davis too. I'll change the title later if it turns out the club who pay his wages don't know his name. And it wouldn't be a surprise.

Remy Garde :D

They are always making mistakes!! Didn't they spell Ciaran Clark as Ciaran Clarke when he broke though if i recall correctly?

The BBC likely copied it from the team sheet, it is 100% Davies though. Hopefully we get to see him play, can't be much worse than our current bunch.

Striker released by Stevenage last summer named on Aston Villa’s bench for Premier League game with Norwich City

A forward who was released by Stevenage FC last summer was today handed his first call-up to the Aston Villa first team squad

Keinan Davis was a youth team player at Boro until last year when he was released by the club before eventually joining Biggleswade Town.

But after just a few months with the Waders he has since signed an 18-month contract with Aston Villa following a successful trial.

The 17-year-old has impressed Villa boss Remi Garde so much that today he was named on the bench against the Canaries in a match Villa won 2-0.

Next Sunday Davis could be competing for a place in the squad once more when Villa host Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
