I like him and have always backed him a reasonable manager working under difficult conditions...but the shot a game thing just cant go on. I know our best forwards are injured...sure that reduces our goal threat...but it shouldn't snuff it out completely. If we convincingly beat Hull then fair play...but loose as I fear he will and questions will be asked...the protection given by Lerner in the past may not be so strong with tom fox now running the show. I agree to an extent. I think with Moyes available they will sack Lambert if our form dips. more likely to go for Pullis if we sacked Lambert (until we taken over then re-evaluate) Outsider for me is John Gregory again same circumstances as above, don't tell them anything hire them and let new owners decide Lambert aint the man Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

He is a better alternative than Pulis though, but i would like to see us getting a manager from outside the Uk. Besides, our luck with Scottish managers have been a disaster. Way way to defensive. why not take the shackles off and tell the team to go for it, we may still have lost but how much more of this defensive dross must we see at Villa park, for christ sake this was Leyton Orient not ManC. supermon Posted August 27, 2014 Share Posted August 27, 2014 Suppose a good example is Mark Hughes at Stoke, he managed to turn their playing style around albeit having added a few additions but he stamped his philosophy on the team, something which Lambert sadly hasn't done. Really wanted him to do well but as one of his staunchest supporters Ive lost hope. As someone said earlier he is nearing the end. I don't want a British manager at Villa park anymore, want a continental manager who understands the passing game. Without significant funding it won't make a difference who's managing the team because it'll still be the same dross on the pitch. What tonight proves to me is that our first team is competitive, may be lacking a cutting edge granted but outside of the starting 11 the squad is relatively weak. Would a new manager be treated any differently to Lambert? would he be given funds to spend? I think the answer to that is no. So why sack Lambert? What I can't stand is the way he seemingly accepted the result. We had 2 subs left and at nil nil on 80 why wasn't they at least warming up? Then if something happened he could react? Personally I think the game was crying out for fresh legs anyway and he should have been proactive in his subs. On Saturday him and Keane were up at the officials all game and egging on the players. Why wasn't that the case tonight? It seems he didn't want this game or to be in this competition and for me that's inexcusable.
