The international break is for the WC qualifiers, not for these England friendlies. I find it annoying aswell, imo the play off games should've been wrapped up in October. Fit another qualifying game into the summer and another one in August if you have to play international games 3 days before the prem starts to create the space. But on the other hand how many would he of had if he didnt keep pulling out of friendly games? Not just him though, theres so many others exactly the same and yet when the WC or Euros come around they are guaranteed a place in the team / squad. Makes a mockery of selecting players who are in form at the moment, when these guys know full well that theres little chance of actually making it into the WC squad.
