Metro are linking us with Fabio Quagliarella.

Aston Villa have made an ambitious move to sign Juventus striker Fabio Quagliarella on-loan for the rest of the season.

Villa boss Paul Lambert is desperate to add to his attacking options before the close of the window, with Wolves’ Leigh Griffiths and Barcelona youngster Jean Marie Dongou both being linked with the club.

However, with those deals failing to get off the ground, attention has turned to Italy international Quagliarella.

The forward has been told he can leave Juve on-loan in return for a small loan fee and Villa hope to win the race to sign him.

Arsenal, Norwich and Tottenham have previously been linked with the player, who can play as a striker or on the wing.

According to La Gazetta he's off to Monaco to replace Falcao. If that's the rumour I think we can forget about that one coming true.

Wow, Quagliarella is interesting!

He can play second striker, not seen him do it much but he can play as a trequartista too. Probs a liability any deeper in midfield but playing where Bacuna started against the baggies he could be very special.

Off to see if any Italian sources have anything about this...

If we dont sign anyone and we lose tommorow I can see the pressure mounting again on Lambert

It won't, we just need another 13 points to stay up and we'll surely manage that. He's safe for another year (at least).

If we don't get anyone it's a bigger gamble than last season IMO teams down bottom stronger and have spent alot so far this window plus no one is cut off.

Fortuantly 5 wins and few draws and we will be safe ..
