  1. Bradford please. I'd rather get to the final and lose than go out in the semis. Saying that, Bradford would be a very tough tie.
  2. Stieber scored a really nice goal for Fürth earlier this season. He's turned out alright.
  3. Kouyate is an absolute boss. I know this because he's awesome on FIFA.
  4. Been very impressed with Baker. I would suggest that we have two of the most talented young central defenders in the league emerging.
  5. Entered thread to see Lambert discussion. Left disappointed.
  6. Do we though? He left a big contract at Man City to join us for regular first team action. I would be inclined to say he would do so again.
  7. I noticed that the stadium announcer pronounces it 'Benteekee' as well. But I'm sure I have also heard him refer to himself as the way the commentators on TV pronounce it, on a promo video on the OS when he first signed.
  8. I love that quote from him when he said he thought he wasn't good enough. Been very impressed with him, and seems like an nice lad as well.
  9. Way too early to write him off. Didn't know he hadn't played for 'boro this season before he joined us. Hopefully we'll see an improvement as he regains match fitness.
  10. Saw him play when the youth team was up here playing Carlisle, scored an absolute screamer from 30 yards right into the postage stamp. 300k and you can't go wrong tbh.
  11. I'll be delighted with a point if we can manage one. If not, then we come out of two difficult away games on the bounce with three points. Anything's a bonus.
  12. Didn't realise he had a shot from distance on him before Norwich. Great technique as well which is surprising. I love this guy like a fat kid loves cake.
  13. Don't know if anyone saw, but when Bent came off against Norwich, he went down the tunnel for treatment and came back out and sat near Lambert. There was a clip of him and Lambert sharing a joke and laughing about something together. Didn't look like two people who supposedly don't get on.
  14. I remember watching The Olympiakos - Arsenal game and being impressed by Abdoun. We could do with a player like him. I was also watching YouTube vids on Finnbogason and Filip Djuricic impressed me too, direct running and good range of passing. Someone with a bit of flair is what we need.
  15. I still have hope for him. He's played left-back before for Newcastle quite a lot, so reckon he might be a better option than Lichaj on the left in the current system. It's frustrating though. There's a quality player in there, he's proven that in the past. It's just getting it out of him. I don't think he's an out and out winger; he's someone like Arjen Robben who cuts in from the right forward position and causes havoc, rather than someone who offers width and provides crosses.
  16. He's getting better and better with every game for me. Was my man of the match yesterday, looks like he's been playing in the Premier League for years, although his crossing does need work. We finally have a solid, dependable right-back. edit: Forgot about Luke Young. He's got the potential to become a bit better than him though, i think.
  17. Scott Sinclair wouldn't be a bad shout on a loan, although he is a bit similar to N'Zogbia.
  18. This will be the first time I've been to two games in the same season before (I think), after I went to the Swansea game earlier in the season. I would start with: Guzan Lowton - Vlaar© - Clark - Baker El Ahmadi - Westwood Weimann - Ireland - Gabby Benteke Stoke are poor away from home usually, though they did just beat Baggies at The Hawthorns I guess. I'll go with 2-0 to us.
  19. Would prefer Ya Konan, but he's probably unrealistic. Tbh, I don't see why either would leave Hannover who are doing well this season, especially since Diouf only joined them half-way last season and who I think has already entered talks about a new deal there.
  20. Haven't been tracking him as such, but I know Carlisle were very keen to sign him, but he saw himself higher up the the divisions. I'm unsure if the Premier League would be a bridge too far or not. He certainly was head and shoulders above any other centre back I've seen play for Carlisle, and most other defenders who have visited in the league for that matter.
  21. He was on loan at my local club Carlisle a few seasons ago. Saw him play a few times, and he was absolutely solid. Scored a few from set pieces as well I seem to remember.
  22. If Lambert doesn't like him, or can't fit him into his system, then I think it's in both parties best interests for him to find somewhere else to be honest. I am a fan of his, but if we aren't gonna sign any outright wingers and stick with this narrow system then he's just an expensive passenger. If we still had Young and Downing, it would be different. But since we don't and with Lambert seemingly not a fan of direct wingers, I think the money we get could buy us some more strength in depth, which we badly need. Sign a more technical player to go up top playing off Benteke/Gabby, and we won't miss his presence too much I don't think. Obviously if we do have the money to spend on some quality service for him, then it's a no brainer to keep him. But if we're sell to buy in Jan, he could certainly be sacrificed..
  23. I actually think Austin could be a good signing, regardless if Bent leaves or not. Born goalscorer and 'hungry' to succeed at this level.
