  1. I actually think Austin could be a good signing, regardless if Bent leaves or not. Born goalscorer and 'hungry' to succeed at this level.
  2. **** me, he's got a tank. That'll make Ireland's Range Rover look a bit ghey.Jeez, I thought it was a mistranslation, but it looks like he actually HAS!!! Yeah, De Kuip is Feyenoord's home stadium and it's known as "the tub" so it's likely a mistranslation. Although there does appear to be a sizable military tank in the picture...
  3. When they were young, my Dad and uncle loved football but didn't support anyone, so they drew names out of a hat. My Dad got Villa and my Uncle got Man Utd, so I was always brought up on Villa. He did actually give me a chance to stop supporting them when we lost 4-3 against Liverpool in that Worthington Cup game, as I was pretty despondent. But I decided I wanted to stay with Villa. Best decision I ever made.
  4. Article about him, translated via Google: Here He also apparently had the third highest dribble completion per game in Ligue 1, behind Jonathan Pitroipa and Eden Hazard. Sounds promising.
  5. Phillips scores a hat-trick in vid, albeit against Fleetwood. Seems to have a terrific shot on him.
  6. Ahhh don't start all this QIA stuff again, I don't wanna get excited about it. We have Lambert, one of the best young managers in the country. He'll be backed this summer. Good enough for me. Happy days.
  7. That guy called the Lambert resignation way before it was doing the rounds last night. Have an open mind rather than shooting him down straight away. With respect, what he said last night was all over twitter. Sorry, but I know better than to listen to someone who requests followers for updates. Wtf? I just said that he said it way before it was announced by anyone else...which is correct, because I saw him post it. I'm not saying he knows anything more than that. He could just be using that record in order to entice more followers for all I know. But he clearly knew what was going on last night.

  9. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/next-liverpool-manager-brendan-rodgers-853325 Mirror are saying that with Rodgers set for Liverpool, we're set to sign Martinez this week. Hope so.
  10. The Daily Star reckon we agreed a contract with him on Wednesday, and were dismayed when he went to talk to Liverpool. Can't see that being the case with Whelan around, he would have told the world and his Dog about it.
  11. Knew we had a thread. Rumours that he's in Miami in talks with us rather than Liverpool... Would definitely take him, wanted him for a long time. Young, stylish football and could build a legacy here as he did with Swansea. Given good financial backing he could do very well here imo.
  12. The game against Honeføss he says he will likely leave after is on 28th, meaning he would stay until the break for the Euros.
  13. Jesper Mathisen plays for Start, not Molde. Probably just having 'banter'.
  14. Good 45-minute video on him for those who have nothing better to do Impressed so far.
  15. Started as Villa last night. Managed to flog Heskey for £1m to MON. Getting offers for Warnock after I whored him out to other clubs, but I want all the money up front and no-one is offering it. How come Adrian Lamb and Glenn Roeder aren't contracted to us? I'm not sure if Roeder actually has a contract with us, but Lamb obviously does.
  16. Villa are apparently having all the players faces scanned with the new technology like Chelsea and Arsenal did on 11, which is good news for perfectionists like myself.
  17. Quique Sanchez Flores was born in Madrid and recently left Atletico. Must be him...
  18. I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but RM apparently works under a wage cap of sorts set by Dave Whealen of 20k p/w. DW said so himself on a documentary the other day.
  19. Classic didn't help, although I did manage a 3-0 away win at Chelsea. Reverted back now. Last four games: Liverpool (H) / 3-0 / 67% Possession / Top passer - Pedro (LB) 78/70 Bolton (H) / 3-1 / 60% Possession / Top passer - Nuno Gomes (LB) 65/58 (Weakened team) Leeds (A) / 2-0 / 66% Possession / Top passer - Pedro (LB) 111/104 Galatasaray (H) / 74% Possession / Top passer - Serrano (CB) 102/89 Interesting that my Pique (Serrano) managed to top the passing charts in that one game. Don't know how that came about. Will continue to tinker, I WILL get this right!
  20. Nice Yeah, completely agree about the full backs, I think it's just the match engine, seems almost impossible to recreate the Barca tactic game after game after game. The biggest problem I've found with the 4-1-2-3-0 formation is the fact the opposition goalkeeper gets a lot of the ball and wastes down possesion and chance you have of getting the ball, so I'm currently worked on a revamped sort of tactic, the main problem is getting the balance between possesion and creating. I'm playing the tactic to play like Barcelona, so winning 4-0, constant through balls, chances, goals ...although seems obviously great, doesn't give me the same satisfaction as having 65% possesion and playing great football and winning 2/3-0 would. Problem is, I don't want to give attacking players constantly 'run from deep' because it means there won't be many options for the player on the ball apart from more through ball type passes, where as I want a calm build up. Unfortunately you can't to do tactics for over the pitch. In the final 3rd, plenty of runs, up until then, players dropping short, keeping it etc... Hmmm, we'll see. Well I've just beat Blues 3-0 with 71% possession actually, so I may be on to something possession wise! Although my top passer was my fullback Pedro who made 93, while my 'Xavi' made a paltry 37. Think I'll swith to classic tactics, see if that helps.
  21. That's weird, I too have been playing the exact same formation as you POB. I've been using it since watching the CL final and it's made me rediscover my love of FM. How on earth do you get the central midfielders dicate the play so much though? My fullbacks are always the ones who are way ahead in the number of passes per game. I just cannot figure it out.
  22. It relaxes his eyebrow. How cool would he look, smoking a fag on the touch line whilst we are annihilating the opposition. That's exactly the way I invisaged it. Cool as ****.
