  1. AKA; is hideously under qualified for the job and is baffled why he was contacted about it. Joking (sort of) as I have no idea what amounts to good experience when running a football club these days. But given our track record of recruitment in non-playing (and playing, obv) staff under Lerner, one has to assume Hollis will ultimately preside over the dissolution of the club. Also can't help but feel the whole 'he knows Birmingham inside out' spiel in Lerner's statement is a load of bollocks. It doesn't really matter if he knows the city, does it? Probably just a cover as to why we didn't get someone who's been exposed to larger and more significant businesses from London KPMG etc
  2. I feel so sorry for Remi. Has been completely hung out to dry by the board and the senior players. Get rid of the lot, and back him to rebuild us over the next few years.
  3. Happy days http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/aston-villa-pair-brad-guzan-7153637 Aston Villa fans have complained to the club after claiming Brad Guzan and Joleon Lescott both told them to “f*** off.” The row in the second half of the Premier League basement side's 1-1 FA Cup draw at League Two Wycombe prompted skipper Micah Richards to intervene. Richards pleaded with fuming fans behind the dug-out after they criticised subs Guzan and Lescott on the bench for their attitude. The pair, who earn around £40,000-a-week, upset them by have a spitting competition to see who could propel chewing gum closest to the touchline.
  4. oh my god, please stop talking about Benteke, it's embarassing.
  5. Randy Lerner is really, really pickling heads on my save. First season - transfer funds available from sales now down to 40%. Also, injuries. Like, come on. It's ridiculous how frequent they are. That said, am enjoying the game despite some gripes
  6. Richardson is a total liability. He can't retain possession or defend. Letting go of Cissoko was a mistake in my opinion, was obviously pony going forward but solid enough defender.
  7. Just started my second season on ML. Up until Jan in my first year I was losing literally every game - every CPU shot going in etc. Had enough of losing, changed formation to 5-3-2, all out defence w/o ball, and managed to finish 15th in the end. If you're playing ML on a hard difficulty and struggling, I'd recommend doing this. PES is becoming almost as intricate as FM in some respects (tactics) - it's so important. Have sold most of our dross, and managed to sign some absolutely class players, my team is now: ---Alcacer---Musa--- ---------Barkley--------- ---Sanchez---Gueye--- --Gaya---------Richards-- --Clark--Stones--Okore -------ter Stegen----- w/ Kovacic, Veretout, Amavi, + many other good players on the bench. Happy days.
  8. Don't think his form has ever been as poor as it currently is. His kicking is Sunday league.
  9. Villa will sign **** anyone apparently. The real question is how aren't we footballers? Carlos Sanchez is an experienced international standard footballer who is a regular in one of the top 10 international teams. I think a lot of our players are good. I just don't understand why as soon as they pull on a Villa shirt, they look like soft Sunday leaguers.
  10. I think our current issue is one of confidence, not talent. If Remi can get the best out of most of our new signings we will stay up. We looked great going forward until Sherwood's baffling tactical decisions & substitutions led to losses, which in turn sucked all the confidence out of the team. Think about how well Amavi was doing before he got 'Villaized', for example. We've got some very talented players in our squad. Let's get behind them and the new manager and hope this club can finally turn a corner.
  11. Ennit. Although seemingly, nothing has.
  12. Few papers reporting we're lining up Christophe Galtier (St. Etienne) as a backup for Garde. Can't access the Sun article but referenced here - http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/10/28/report-aston-villa-targeting-christophe-galtier-as-potential-she/
  13. Couldn't see this posted anywhere, but I thought this F365 article on Sherwood is pretty on point. (Great site by the way, their Media Watch column is classic) http://www.football365.com/news/is-he-a-good-manager-is-he-a-manager
  14. Awful team selection in my view. Very worrying long term, even if we get a positive result today.
  15. Positives far out-weighing the negatives for me. We are good going forward, just need to be less naive defensively. Every game we have lost has been to a one goal margin and we have been really unlucky. Performances > results at this stage. Next two games are huge but I'm confident we'll win both.
  16. Reviews are all amazing. 9s and 10s everywhere. With the added news of option files for the unlicensed teams....
  17. Both Amavi and Gueye featured in Sky Sports top 5 new signings: http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/9976199/top-five-new-boys
  18. Not to get into a moral debate, but I would argue having too much to drink on a holiday vs. a calculated 4 year affair with your colleague's wife are fairly distinct.
  19. Should not start against Sunderland in my view, game is too important and his performances have been poor so far. Gestede and Sinclair up top.
  20. Ideally showing the Utd Newcastle game. Any suggestions?
  21. new trailer, looks great
