  1. Yeh, pretty harsh that. Always winced at personal abuse at Lambert - wish him the best of luck and a face-to-face was the least he deserved
  2. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/aston-villa/next-permanent-manager Some interesting names there...
  3. Paul Lambert has lost 49 of his 100 league matches in charge of Villa, who have only scored 98 goals in that period. Only Mick McCarthy, with Sunderland, has lost more times after a century of Premier League matches with the same club. Ouch. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31106383
  4. With all due respect, Delph just committed his long term future to the club and had one bad game, Cleverley didn't even want to come here and has been woeful all season. The booing is entirely understandable, I can't wait 'til he's out of here
  5. Considering we average about 1.5 penalties a season these days, I'm not sure that's true.
  6. We don't know how much we bid for him, I saw rumours ranging between £3-5m Lots of other clubs failed to get the strikers they wanted. We could have been in the Adebayor race. At least we weren't in the Carlton Cole race (snigger) I actually think he'd have done really well at our club. He's got experience, intelligence. He's have lined up well with wingers and given Benteke something to think about. To play football doesn't require 11 gucci players. It takes 3-5 individuals playing within a framework for them to operate. A (currently) lazy striker failing to hold the ball, failing to create space for the likes of Gabby/Weimann/Gil/Delph/N/Zog/Sinclair is a MASSIVE hindrance. If we get an on-form target man, we're laughing. Agreed. I'm content. We probably did as well if not better than the majority of clubs around us. Agree with final point, though not sure 'bout the implication that Richard Lambére is an on-form target man. As it stands, happy it didn't go through, just confused why we tried
  7. I thought the 11th hour bid for Rickie was pretty worrying for a number of reasons: 1) We offered more than Liverpool paid for him - despite his value obviously depreciating a lot 2) If we had these extra funds available all along, why was the club not working on overdrive to get more business done early (something which PL is usually good at), especially if those at the top are as desperate as that bid would make us appear? 3) The player himself - hardly inspiring and not going to affect our woeful style of play and chance creation All in all though, a half decent window
  8. Not sure if it's been mentioned, but further evidence in favour of the 'Cleverley Clause' theorists (despite it obviously being Mike Ashley i.e. dodgy as fock): http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31145792
  9. lol @ cleverley ever being 'the right signing'
  10. Master league on this is so much better than anything Fifa offers, PES 5/6 esque enjoyability
  11. Christ. We are hands down the worst team that managed to stay up
  12. Maybe intentional as anti - British sentiment...?
  13. We were a lot better without him in the side, I thought. Such a difference having Delph driving the play forward, even if he takes more risks in possession
  14. Benteke is the best we've had for so, so long... I think it's sacrilege to think we can improve the team by selling him
  15. I think it's very important that he's here st this time in our history. He's essentially keeping the club afloat. I smell a statue. Never thought of that before - that's an interesting angle. Thank **** for Tekkers. Can anyone honestly think of a more talented Villa player from the past 30 years?
  16. Blackpool away is **** shit, they don't sell beer
  17. I'm gonna be at the George with a few Villa pals at Liverpool St from 12pm
  18. I actually think in today's market he is probably worth around 70-75k p/w and I've no doubt that he'll find that somewhere. I can't believe we're looking at Vlaar, Delph and Benteke leaving in the next 1-7 months
  19. Just got back from the game, he was our best player by a mile, shame about the costly errors.
  20. A lot of people on Twitter saying Lowton gesticulated ''**** off'' to Villa fans at FT.
  21. As poor as he can be at times, the sad thing is we look a lot, lot worse when he's out of the team
  22. So I just downloaded the update and now it's totally unplayable offline due to ''lag''. Da fuq?!
