  1. I'm not sure if it's already been said... but I would be all over Conor Gallagher for £30 million.
  2. How's everyone getting there? Flights are a nightmare. Only Villa could choose a European friendly in one of the most remote cities in France.
  3. I'm actually not too worried about a striker. For a start by improving the midfield I think we will see a huge difference defensively, and in chances created for our strikers. Ings and Watkins have both proven they can be lethal strikers if chances are created for them. And secondly I genuinely think Cameron Archer could be the next big thing from our academy, I really want to see him given a chance next season.
  4. I feel like we really need to go big on a midfielder this summer. It's a position that's been a huge weakness for us for years. Kamara will be a massive upgrade at defensive midfield, helping both the defense and central midfield; I just feel there's a real lack of quality in the number 8 role. If you look at Newcastle & Tottenham you can see the difference quality midfield signings can make. I would quite happily move on Sanson as he is clearly not good enough from a managers perspective. This leaves us McGinn, Ramsey and Luiz as number 8 options; I feel as though Luiz will likely move on, although I would be keep for him to sign a deal as I feel he would improve massively in the number 8 role. So options for that last midfield role, let's go big and get some real quality in even if breaking the bank is required. Obviously some of these players are only going to be interested in European football, but we've done well at selling the club to others already. Mikel Merino - Unlikely as he's linked to City and Liverpool as their backup options to other deals. Hugely talented and worth a go. Florian Neuhaus - Again linked to Liverpool. Young and would be expensive, but a huge talent for the future. Fabian Ruiz - Linked to Arsenal who are now signing Viera, available for 25-30M. A proper midfielder who was linked to Newcastle in January. Matheus Nunes - Linked with Everton and Wolves. A more achievable target, only 23 years old and already capped for Portugal.
  5. I honestly think Stranger Things Season 4 Episode 4 is up there with one of the greatest tv show episodes. Absolutely superb!
  6. I was pretty against this; then I just watched the video above of his 2021/22 goals. His finishing is till top notch, and he would put chances away for us no trouble. Watkins problems are his hold up play, it's really poor at times; although I understand it's not his game playing with his back to goal. Suarez is strong, relentless guy and will be much better at leading the line. I wouldn't be surprised to see Suarez, Watkins and another being out strikers next season. I feel as though we will allow Ings to go for the right price.Cameron Archer could be the third striker; or we could go the world class route if Gerrard feel's we can play with two in some games.
  7. What happened at Nantes? I was going to go to this European trip; flights and travel look horrendous to Rennes though.
  8. Finished the season at 8.5k; easily my best ever finish in FPL. Pretty lucky overall that I got off to a good start, and then wasn't chasing in mini leagues which let me play a safe game for the rest of the season.
  9. Currently at 8k; 17 points off the top 5k which is where I was aiming to finish this season. Going to be tough to make up that many points in one GW; might go for it with some random picks to gain ground.
  10. Another that's probably been mentioned here before, but Clickbait on Netflix is pretty good.
  11. Better Call Saul is easily one of the best series of all time; superb TV!
  12. I'm not convinced on Richarlison personally; feels like a bit of a trap. But saying that there isn't much to choose from up front this season.
  13. Finally made it to the top of the VT league. Now to try and retain my place for the remaining GW's. Lucky with the Son captain this week, I was set on Salah all week until an hour before deadline.
  14. The passing would have been purely down to nerves; he looked composed in the second half as he grew into the game. It also looked as though the players didn't trust him fully; or maybe didn't want to put too much on him. When he starts to adapt more play will run through him in the midfield. I thought he had some very good spells where he broke up play nicely. Can see him being a real talent next season.
  15. 'Yes but this is Manchester United!' In my best imitation of Roy Keane's boring United drivel.
  16. I can't bear listening to Neville bleat on about how hard done by United are. They dominated English football for years, and now their fans act like they are the new Bury. Boring.
  17. I actually think it might. We have a lot of young players in this squad who are improving, and a quality midfielder would make a huge impact. I think we'll see 2-3 incomings though with more emphasis on sales this Summer.
  18. The Targett sale for £15 million is fine. As others have mentioned we have likely added a loan fee, taken his wages off the books for 6 months, and potentially added a bonus for Newcastle avoiding relegation. We bought him for £14 million, so we are actually making a small profit. But most importantly we got two good seasons from him for our money; it's not always about the profit you make off players, but about the impact they had on the club whilst also recouping the fee paid. Great business all round in my opinion.
  19. So you would rather we played wingers and dropped Coutinho to the bench? Leaving out one of Ings and Watkins? Revert back to how we played under Smith when we played some absolutely awful football.
  20. I would imagine the complication will come from the pay drop in Coutinho's wage. His contract with Barcelona currently expires in June 2023, he's most likely told them that he'll be willing to take a pay cut to move to another club; but want's the difference, or part of the difference made up by Barcelona until his contract there expires. This would be the negotiation that Villa and Barcelona are currently conducting. I am fairly sure that it will be done though.
  21. Not good if he's out for a length of time. Might be time to see what Chrisene is all about...
  22. Thought he was good again last night, drives so well with the ball. Starting to look slightly jaded though, his performances whilst still good aren't his excellent standard he set earlier in the season. A rest on Sunday would probably do him some good ready for Arsenal next weekend.
  23. Bit of insight on that. Konsa was one of the last players into the tunnel last night, celebrated with the fans and the players. He looked absolutely delighted with the win. Great to see!
  24. Played well last night when he came on. But went straight down the tunnel after the game, didn't applaud the away fans with the rest of the players. Feel like he's pretty unimpressed not being in the first team.

    Matty Cash

I said it on the way home from the game last night; I wouldn't sell Cash for £30-40 million now. He's becoming a fantastic right back, and we would have a tough time finding a better replacement for that sort of money. We have positions in the squad we could do with upgrading to get to the next level, but right back isn't one of those positions right now.
