  1. Has anyone watched Outlast on Netflix? Highly recommended, binged it in two nights. Shows what money can do to people in an environment.
  2. Thanks for this, I didn't realise they were doing a season two let alone that it was already out!
  3. Would imagine when Kamara is back Carlos will have a week off the bench and in with the U23's for a game to build himself back up. Can't imagine he'll play 90 minutes for the first team this season; the priority should be to get him ready for a full pre-season.
  4. Colossus today! He just does everything we need a centre back to do, calm on the ball, willing to put his body on the line for the clean sheet, can carry the ball forward, wins balls in the air and leads the team. His form has been brilliant since the new year; and every week he makes Gerrard and Southgate both look more ridiculous.
  5. McGinn was very good again today, looks to be back to his best. Seems to have trimmed down a bit, and his fitness seems to have improved. Doing everything he used to do for us, turning on the ball, battling with opposition players. He's done really well filling in for Kamara.
  6. Ramsey was brilliant today, my MOTM. Just so good when you can get the ball to him with space to drive forward. Caused their full back all sorts of problems when running at them; the complete opposite to what Bailey was offering on the other side of the pitch. Back to his best!
  7. You're right but in our current team JJ is playing as one of the more advanced midfielders which is likely where AJ would also fit in.
  8. Going to be quite strange if he comes into the first team next season and starts competing for his brothers slot in the first team. Watched him a lot at Cheltenham and didn't think he would make it, he then put some good performances in for Norwich and tailed off. His performances for Boro have been brilliant so far though, and you can tell the loans have benefitted him massively. Another season on loan, with consistent games may help him; but I don't think he's far away now.
  9. You've got £100 million to spend, but you can only spend it on one player. Which position in our current side are you spending the money on?

    Ezri Konsa

Glad I'm not the only one seeing this. Konsa has become a bit of a problem for us when playing out of the back. He's not comfortable enough on the ball and tends to panic when he plays the pass. He slows the game down with his indecisions, and it means that we struggle to beat the press. When playing out from the back it should be quick switching between the centre backs until an option opens up and you beat the first line. Defensively Konsa is sound, which makes it a shame. Under Gerrard he did everything that was being asked of him, unfortunately for him under Emery he just can't do what we need him to do. Carlos will no doubt replace him when he's back fit.
  11. Check this out, it might give you some ideas how to sort the issue.
  12. The more I watch the series the more appreciation I have for the storytelling in the game.
  13. So much more could be done to make the place look and work better. Some really minor changes would also dramatically increase the revenue for the club, some more costly changes would increase the revenue for the club in the long term. The card machines used at Villa Park, the Holte Suite and the Holte pub are awful. They fall over on the bar half the time, are wired so half the time you can't reach them and a lot of the time don't work. There's been a few times where I've been charged twice as the machines say I haven't paid when I actually have. Surely they could invest in some wireless card machines that the staff can use alongside a few decent machines installed on the bar like a normal pub. The toilets are a shambles all over Villa Park, Doug Ellis and Holte end specifically. I'm sure it wouldn't take much to give them a bit of an update, install some push-button taps and a couple of Dyson hand dryers. It's already been mentioned but some exterior toilet facilities would be a smart move, although this may be planned with the North Stand renovation. The outside bars would likely take more income if people could empty out the tanks before spending some more cash on beer. The clock in the Holte End Upper, left side hasn't worked for about 5 years. It may be back working now, but I've given up even looking at it. The Holte Pub has the potential to be a great pub and could take some serious income on a match day. Every now and again they make an effort and have a pop up bar inside to take the pressure off the main bar, but it's rare. If they did this every game they would make a lot more money, and it would make everyones lives easier. The catering and drinks situation has been a shambles for years. Some days it's like they are shocked that a football match is taking place, and don't know where all the people have come from. Fridges behind the bar are empty, they run out of chips, there's no ketchup available, beer pumps haven't been checked and don't work properly. Surely there could be some better preparation early in a week ahead of a matchday to fully stock and check the place over before 40,000 people turn up. Fix the bloody sound system, I can't hear what's going on half the time. It's not all bad though, and you can see they are making an effort. It looks as though the lighting at Villa Park has been replaced, the light shows before games are a nice touch. The steps outside the Holte End have been painted, and look a lot better; and it show's there is finally an effort being made to tidy the place up a little.
  14. This. When he's out of contract in the summer he'll have the pick of offers from any club. He'll be able to demand a large signing on fee, large bonuses, and a large wage. Worth trying to pay a small fee now, and getting it tied up before anyone else comes sniffing around. Although I trust Unai and the team know this.

    Unai Emery

I think it's really smart, to the fans he's just told us that Nakamba can leave and that Sanson will be used where required but can leave also. The players will already know this. What it also does is say's to clubs I've got these two players for sale, one of which I think is a quality player but doesn't currently fit into my side. It puts them in the shop window, it get's their names out there in articles and in the media.
  16. No he's not available, work permit won't be through in time.
  17. We're not voting for a new club crest again already are we?
  18. Watched episode one tonight. Absolutely brilliant so far! Pedro Pascal is great as Joel, I already feel as though it’s the same character as in the game. Ellie seems to be a bit different but it might just be that she’s not been on the screen as much yet. The small nods to the game are well done, and not pushed on the storyline as some remakes can do. Looking forward to next week.
  19. I completely missed Emi being captain last night as I couldn't get a signal for the team sheet in the Holte Suite. With Young starting do we think Emi is now club captain ahead of him when starting? It will be interesting to see if it goes back to McGinn next month.
  20. Technically outstanding last night yet again. He just doesn't put a foot wrong in that midfield, every interception and tackle is timed to perfection, every touch and turn is thought through, and every pass is perfectly weighted. When Kamara is on the ball you just don't worry, he doesn't lose it and it's as though it's stuck to his foot with glue. He's one of the most naturally gifted midfielders I've seen play for the club, and after years struggling to fill the defensive midfield role he's come in at the perfect time for us. How we managed to get him on a free transfer I'll never know. The wages are likely high, but if anyone deserves them it's this guy. We now desperately need to fill the remainder of the squad with players on his level to keep pushing the club forward, and to ensure that we don't lose another world class player.
  21. That will be a gouda move for him.
  22. I disagree with a few of the comments on here. There's no doubt that Watkins is capable of scoring goals, and has a decent enough record since he joined. However he just isn't clinical enough to be the striker we need if we are to push on to European football. We've now started creating a lot of chances in games, and unfortunately we aren't finishing enough of them. Taking nothing against him for his goal yesterday, it was a great header, but he had a lot of chances in the first half that could have turned the game a lot sooner. I also don't believe his hold up play is good enough for a centre forward. The one attribute Watkins has going for him though is his work rate, and that is mostly why he does score goals as he can be relentless at times.
  23. With a baby on the way I now wish I had never entered this thread...
