  1. No idea. Pinched it from a Liverpool forum. I can't claim any credit.
  2. Can't wait for Unai cam. He's changed Aston Villa. What a journey. I love this club, the staff, the players, but Unai has a special place in my heart. UTV.
  3. Watching the COVID inquiry footage, Johnson has forgot an awful lot in the last few years. He's lying and he hates being questioned. I'd love it if the mask slipped live on TV.
  4. I'm torn about this. I don't think there's a lot of prime time output that I enjoy, and the news is incredibly biased in favour of the Tories. How the BBC haven't held them to account as our nation's broadcaster is an absolute disgrace. They should have torn into them when it became obvious the Tories were only serving themselves. It shouldn't be left for the comedians to do it. That being said, they sometimes have fantastic content on bbc2 and bbc4 that no other content provider can hold a candle to. The radio stations are awful now though. Every single one of them. Massive improvements could be made by removing anybody with a history of serving or working with the government and then enshrining that in their employment law. Finally, there's the old saying of you can't please everyone. With the output needing to serve an ever more diverse audience, there's going to be many times when we don't like the output, or at least will not be familiar with it. (Diverse meaning age, gender, sexuality, religion, not just race).
  5. CL. Not just for FFP reasons, but more because we'll generate more awareness in USA, Asia, and the Middle East. More eyes on the club hopefully translates to higher revenue streams and sustained success. If it still mattered as much as it did 20 years ago then it'd be the FA cup for sure. The cheapening of the cup competitions is such a shame.
  6. Maybe Watkins and Emi have asked for a total rest? Both have played a lot of football recently, including intl travel, and Emery has been obliging this week with all the Premier League football coming up over the next few weeks. I'm just guessing, but in my opinion it seems likely. On paper these are the lowest quality team we'll play for a while.
  7. He seems to have a howler fairly often though, so that really surprises me.
  8. Letting De Gea go on a free to replace him with the clown they've got now is bad business, even for them. Taibi wasn't this bad.
  9. The thing is that they won't give them back to the rightful owners, yet if China or Saudi came in with a bid they could funnel into their back pockets, then the Elgin Marbles would be gone in a heartbeat, much like our public services.
  10. One of the biggest issues with VAR is that those in the stadium and those watching at home get no live audio of what the officials are looking at and how they get to the decisions they make. If people could hear why they were making these decisions then even if you don't agree with the outcome, you might at least understand it. The next issue is consistency. Just using the game last night as an example for the yellow the headbutt received, and the penalties. They never get this right. VAR isn't going anywhere, the genie is out of the bottle. We just need people or a system that can implement it at the right times, and get the right outcome more often than they do. With the money involved in the Prem, every point is precious, and VAR has too much of an effect on this. People lose jobs with relegations, and clubs lose money depending on their final placings and Euro qualification. Finally, the on the patch officials need to be braver. Refs know most contentious actions will be reviewed so they don't need to make a decision at the time, and linesmen never need to raise their flags. At the moment linesmen are completely superfluous.
  11. I don't agree. He's so calm and collected on the ball, his reading of the game is good, but most of all his ability to play a great forward ball to change the flow of the game is unique. His stats back this up; I don't think we'd be able to replace that, hence my comment about enjoying him whilst he's here. When we have a top quality right back and we're not as exposed he's going to look even better. Glad you think we're building the right way, I agree with that wholeheartedly.
  12. Not at all. I'm not prone to hyperbole or BS. In the first half when the backline was all at sea, his composure allowed us to break the press. He was always available as an outlet and made quite a few interceptions. Seem to remember him pulling the line up a few times too... Also, his passing was lightyears ahead of any defender on the pitch.
  13. Thought it was his best performance in a Villa shirt today. Calm, efficient, positionally great, and his passing was incredible. The goal was the cherry on top. Enjoy him whilst we've got him. He'd get into almost any progressive team's backline.
  14. Their movement is so much better without Kane, really causing us problems.
  15. Scary watching this. Both teams going for it. This is what football should be like!
  16. I know he was allegedly a little dodgy with finances, but I'm still gutted to this day that Venables never took us to World Cup 98. We were going places under him. Southgate gets a lot of pluses for uniting the squad, but El Tel did that whilst playing good football. RIP
  17. I don't think anyone would. Gabby Logan is an incredibly experienced presenter with a good knowledge of sport. The issue most people have is that the presenters of most sports shows now are more interested in entertaining than being informative, regardless of sex, race, religion, or orientation.
  18. Fair enough, I don't know your post history, and I doubt everyone else does, which may explain the reaction. Not a dig at you now, but I find many people don't often quantify their opinions, leading people to assume there may be a negative connotation. That may be at play too.
  19. I think it's more because you could say the same about the majority of the male presenters, yet you've singled out the female. I do agree Sue Smith is rubbish, yet Clinton Morrison and Paul Merson are just as bad.
  20. He's another who likes the nightlife, seems to be a problem with of a lot of young English players. Was sent hom from Finland with Greenwood for meeting up with local girls before a game.
  21. All of these records city and their players are setting should not be acknowledged by Sky until the result of investigation/115 charges is known. The constant love in from them is sickening.
