  1. what a stat that is, lol.
  2. I found it strange that Gerrard said in his presser that he hadn't told the squad the team yet. I can only think of two reasons for that: 1) worried about someone leaking the team to smith?!?!, which doesn't make sense. 2) or, we might see an unexpected starter, like Timmy?
  3. this lad has really messed up his own career hasnt he.
  4. yeah listening to Gerrard's presser, it does seem Emi might be on the bench. ........unless thats what he wants us to think........
  5. Listening to Gerrard's press conference today, he was almost pining for a top DM when he spoke. I think we might be finally be fixing the 3 year long DM problem this summer......
  6. you know Sheff Utd are gonna get promoted....... Unfortunately.
  7. Preece who knows nothing? He's like the football writer's version of Jon Snow.
  8. tbh i would be happy to just get back what we paid (4m ish?), then again anything would be better than him leaving on a free next summer.
  9. i think Buendia will get a start tomorrow, due to the Norwich factor, i thought this a while ago. I also think its nonsense, as he deserved to start before this, and to only start him for the "Norwich effect", is almost demeaning imo. He should be in the first 11, somewhere, its that simple imo.
  10. 1 year left on his contract, we need to be cashing in, not loaning him out for his final year and getting no return. If we cant find a buyer i would just keep him around the first team squad as backup etc, apart from salary saving, serves us absolutely zero value sending him out on loan until his contract expires.
  11. yeah i was one of em. partly for his talent, partly for the huge, huge Japanese market access.....
  12. clearly not good enough for Villa then. Just like Digne & Coutinho. mate.
  13. i know double barrel names are "cool" to have these days, ie: to honour both parents or sets of parents etc, but it doesnt scale beyond one persons choice to do it (unless you are nuts). If it became the norm and Emile Smith-Rowe married Wright-Phillips sister, and they had a boy call Fred, Fred would be Fred Smith-Rowe Wright-Philips. Then if Freds daughter (called Maria) married Reece-Moggs son, it would be Maria Smith-Rowe Wright-Phillips Reece-Mogg..........and so on and so on and so on..... Which kinda says to me, that this double barrel stuff is nonsense beyond the initial "double barrelling", unless you want an entry in the Guinness Book of Records......
  14. is Riff Raff 6ft 5in, built like a brick s*** house, tough in the tackle, but also able to pick a pass like prime Messi? If so.....sign Riff Raff up!
  15. Klopp signs till 2026, 4 years left....... All plays in to Gerrard's 5 year plan......

    Matty Cash

tbh, all that tell me, is that we have a poor team overall, which means we are frantically defending a lot. i think there is a reason that players on that list are from teams like Burnley, Brentford etc. Not knocking the fact that Cash clearly helps us defending, but its also interesting that apart from Rice, no players from remotely "top teams" are on that list.
  17. Yeah but m8, Digne isnt good enough for us. Coutinho also, not good enough for us. mate.
  18. i also liked Sailing Zatara: Parents, 2 sons, 2 daughters on a Cat, travelling the world, been going for 5 years!
  19. I have always thought Anthony Hopkins is a sublime actor. The way he delivers his lines/performances etc, puts so many actors to shame.
  20. Statistics says home support does make a difference for a home team overall (ie: looking at a big enough data set). This is born out by the fact, that on average, a teams home form is usually better than its away form, sometimes markedly so. Something I have always wondered, is that at the elite, top level, why should it matter, in theory a team of 11 players should play as well away as at home. I'm not saying I don't understand the mental/energy side of the apparent impact of home support, but I also do sometimes wonder why elite, elite sport people can't overcome that and make crowds effectively null and void in terms of impact on performance. I suppose that's the human nature of it, when tiny percentages impact winning or losing, that bit more adrenalin/energy from a crowd chanting/cheering etc, must make a marginal difference. On the flip side though, a bad crowd can freeze players, regardless of their ability etc.
