  1. yes please... what would that cost in actual transfer fees? Kondogbia - 15m? Kamara - Free (with hefty personal fees) Coutinho - 33m So less than 50m in actual transfer fees? Plenty left for a CB & striker.
  2. probably there just trying to sell Sanson back to them for 500k......
  3. aint that the truth. Hourihane - "he's PL quality" - now sitting at the bench at Sheff Utd. Vassilev - "he's quality, will improve our team" - couldnt get a start in the U.S of A. Green - "shouldnt have let him go, he's quality" - not even a single Champ club signed him up when he left. Nyland - "he's a great shot stopper" - dont need to say anything. Taylor - "he's an adequate PL left back" - dont need to say anything. Trez - "he works hard, that important" - ye ok, how about working hard and being good at kicking a football. El Ghazi - "he has moments, he scored goals" - hasnt started a single game for relegation threatened Everton. The list goes on, im sure most other clubs have the same over rating of their players, but it is funny.
  4. i didnt say watkins was a marquee signing. I was giving an example of an incoming player showing interest as to whether our best player at the time was staying, because he wanted to play with him.
  5. thats what you call a front 3.......(1 goal / 1 assist each).
  6. I understand some comments about whether we should or shouldn't sign him. However, to attract a higher calibre of signings you usually need to get that first marquee signing through the door to attract others. The same way when watkins joined, the first thing he asked apparently was "is Grealish staying?". I'm not hung up on whether that marquee signing is coutinho or another player, but the fact is we need to persuade that first top level player to join us, and persuading the first one is usually the hardest task. Coutinho would definitely be the type of permanent signing that would signal to other players that we mean business, and may attract players who want to play with him.
  7. i thought they signed Surridge permanently?
  8. unlucky, man of glass strikes again!, was really hoping, for his own sake, that he could complete the full loan without injury! fingers crossed he might be back for the playoffs?
  9. :The Dream: How ironic that we are only 3 players away from that actual team lol (but obviously our RL players dont perform like this )
  10. im sorry, i forgot you were the bastion and protector of when respect should be given. Im not saying anything in relation to Westwood, i hope he's ok, and i hope he recovers. But as i said, couldnt happen to a nicer club, was directed at the scummy club, how many careers has that club ended?, this is nothing to do with Westwood, and i didnt even mention his name.
  11. whats going on with Bogarde?, havent seen him in the u23s for ages! injured?, home sick so went home on some form of leave!?
  12. we have been semi poor all season, probably largely in part due to the fact a fair few of are youth from last year are out on loan (Archer, Bidace, Hayden, A.Ramsey, Barry, Raikhy). Players like Young, Revan(s) were also on loan until recently, Chuka Jr is also on loan i think. Chuka Jr is spending a lot of time with the senior team, as well as Chrisene now he is fit. Its probably more that our "new" younger batch now need to develop and kick on, we just need to give them some time.
  13. So Man City fans cut short the 1 minute silence for the Hillsborough tragedy, by screaming and chanting during it. what scum.
  14. yeah but not good enough for us bruv....... mate.
  15. i understand some of your points with regard to low/wide shot stopping, but you go off the rails and down the ravine when you imply Nyland is even on the same planet as Martinez mate. I also said i would prob accept 65m for him (hypothetically), but implying Nyland is even close to Martinez in terms of quality is pretty mad!
  16. tbf, this is a midfield i could get on board with, not convinced it will happen anything like this though lol.
  17. Wouldn't surprise me if SSN purposely got morons on, as they think that aligns with the general audience. (Aka: most corporations probably think their audience are actually morons). I do agree though, that it's interesting to watch competence be sacrificed for diversity.

    Louie Barry

    the first one also.
  19. Ye, interesting the take on Davis, as he has scored a few goals for Forest, i think he is 1 goal away from equalling his entire career's tally for Villa (for Forest). Davis/Archer in the Champ (this season): Davis - 14 games, 5 goals, 2 assists (1 goal every 2.18 games and 0.78 goal contributions per game, when minutes played are factored in) Archer - 15 games, 7 goals, 0 assists (1 goal every 1.88 games and 0.94 goal contributions each game, when minutes played are factored in) Both Davis & Archer are doing great on loan this season, tbf.
  20. tbf this thread is called "the strikers", so its discussing the striker issue, but i think most people would agree we need an entirely new spine to the team, which would hopefully address what you mention re chance creation/general play.
  21. i didnt say it how you worded it, maybe read it again.
