  1. tbf, this is a midfield i could get on board with, not convinced it will happen anything like this though lol.
  2. Wouldn't surprise me if SSN purposely got morons on, as they think that aligns with the general audience. (Aka: most corporations probably think their audience are actually morons). I do agree though, that it's interesting to watch competence be sacrificed for diversity.

    Louie Barry

    the first one also.
  4. Ye, interesting the take on Davis, as he has scored a few goals for Forest, i think he is 1 goal away from equalling his entire career's tally for Villa (for Forest). Davis/Archer in the Champ (this season): Davis - 14 games, 5 goals, 2 assists (1 goal every 2.18 games and 0.78 goal contributions per game, when minutes played are factored in) Archer - 15 games, 7 goals, 0 assists (1 goal every 1.88 games and 0.94 goal contributions each game, when minutes played are factored in) Both Davis & Archer are doing great on loan this season, tbf.
  5. tbf this thread is called "the strikers", so its discussing the striker issue, but i think most people would agree we need an entirely new spine to the team, which would hopefully address what you mention re chance creation/general play.
  6. i didnt say it how you worded it, maybe read it again.
  7. Watkins. Sell him, really not been impressed with him this season, and for all his strengths, he simply doesnt suit a possession style of football. Ings. Sell him, I actually think Ings is a very good all round player, but i also think he doesnt suit leading the line as a lone striker, he doest have the explosive pace to break lines or the power/strength to hold the ball up for over lapping players, he is more of a second striker for me, and again, i dont think that will suit our system. Archer. I would 100% loan Archer out next season to further his development (like Tammy did with us), i really wouldnt want to see him wasting his development by sitting on the bench 95% of the time, i really want to see him given good development opportunities to see if he can push himself in to our squad for the 23/24 season (will still only be 21 at the start of the 23/24 season), i really dont want to see his development stunted, in the way we did to Davis in his early 20's. Davis. I would either sell him if we can get a good price, or loan him out for another season to assist his development, and hopefully increase his value, his contact expires July 2024, so we either need to sell this summer or next. New Striker(s). After selling Ings & Watkins, i would try to go big on one top level striker (ie: 35-50m bracket), then maybe buy a backup striker who is older/cheaper, but still good, on a shorter stop gap (1/2/3 year contract), to allow for Archer or others developing.
  8. Sacking Dyche is absolute next level stupid imo. I dislike Burnely, but he kept them in the Prem for years, some of their players on paper would struggle to get in teams at the top end of the Championship, but they generally did well under Dyche. i also have no doubt he would have brought them straight back up, their style is absolutely made for rolling over the Championship. Who is going to take that job with 8 games to go? madness tbh.
  9. that does sound mental mate. but.... If you had said to me "i wonder if Coutinho would like to join us?". You would have got the same response....
  10. that Nunez from Benfica looks like a player. Will obviously go somewhere much more high profile than us in the summer tho.
  11. 65m for a keeper. Most expensive keepers ever (and some others): Kepa - 75m Allison - 65m Courtois - 35m Ederson - 35m Buffon - 33m Mendy - 22m main thing is, ofc i wouldnt want to lose Martinez ideally, but if you could get 65m for him, although you may or may not be able to replace him with a better keeper, you should at least be able to buy a very good one for 20-30m, and have 35m in the bank to spend elsewhere. Im not advocating selling Martinez, but 65m?, thats a lot lot...of money for a keeper.
  12. You prob will mate. On the transfer list.
  13. lol wtf is this thread, what a joke. Im neither pro or anti Gerrard, but my lord, the Gerrard bed wetting right now is dialled up to 11, there are some serious agenda's going on. Really, it doesnt matter how many points Gerrard gets this season i dont think, i cant see Purslow pulling the trigger this season no matter what, i think Gerrard will get the summer window (which they are all already in advanced planning for - as they have said), and i imagine he will be judged on what he does next season, once he has had a window to sort the squad out.
  14. ye a 5 and a half year deal, literally a few weeks ago. About as much chance of him leaving, as me getting a date with Ana De Armas......imo
  15. but won the Champions League (or its equivalent) twice, i see your point but Forest historically were always seen as a top flight club, but granted that right is earned, not given.
  16. if you are actually claiming Gerrard (after 20 games and no summer window(s) at all), is in the same position as Smith (after 3 years and 350m spent).............. Im not pro or anti Gerrard, but some of the anti Gerrard rhetoric on here is laughable.
  17. aint it just..... If you also sold one of Watkins or Ings, that would be something like 450k-500k p/w, depending on which one, or maybe 550-600k p/w if you offloaded both.
  18. urm, well....do i really need to answer that?, is it not obvious that a striker is more than just someone who scores goals? ie: pace, agility, vision, movement, pressing, strength, height (or jump), anticipation, touch, heading, dribbling, passing, technique, aggression, composure, decision making, hold up play.....etc etc. My point was, watkins scores a few goals and presses ok, but his vision, passing, first touch, strength, hold up play, pace, technique etc etc are all quite poor. Ings is a good all round player, good vision, decent passing, presses ok, has an eye for goal (or used to), but he is fairly slow and isnt a line breaker, and isnt a hold up player as such, he isnt someone who "leads the line", he's more of a false 9 striker to me, but he doesnt have the pace to cut through a team. I think both have strengths and weaknesses, and may work in different systems, i just dont think either suit the system Gerrard wants to play.
  19. if we got rid of the people on that list (Kalinic, Hourihane, Young, Wesley, Steer, Guilbert, Trezegeut, El Ghazi, Davis, Traore, Targett, Luiz), and the information on the internet is even close to correct, you are looking at about £400k p/w, or roughly £21m a year, off the wage bill.
