  1. Can see him out on loan in jan. Go and bang em in archer!
  2. Anguissa signed permanently for Napoli for 15m in the summer im afraid.
  3. while i see your point, im not sure how anyone can look at Brightons transfers over the last few years, and on balance not admit they have done an extremely good job overall finding talent at reasonable prices. every club makes mistakes in the transfer market, but for me Brightons transfer policy "overall", is one of the most intelligent in the league. im not claiming Villa havent signed some good players at reasonable prices, im just pointing out how impressive Brightons overall recruitment has been over recent years.
  4. i get your point, but i dont think thats entirely true. Brighton spent 71m on these 8 players, from 1m to 18m (Cucurella - 18m, Mitoma - 3m, Caicedo - 5m, Trossard - 16m, Bissouma - 17m, Mac Allister - 8m, Gross - 3m, Lamptey - 1m) we spent 83m on 7 players as follows: Traore - 18m, Wesley - 22m, Nakamba - 12m, Trezeguet - 10m, El Ghazi - 9m, Engels - 8m, Jota - 4m. i know which of those two lists i would prefer.....in hindsight, and its not like most of our signings listed above were "exciting signings".
  5. we really need a bit of the Brighton bug.... When you look at some of the quality, or potential quality they have bought..... Cucurella - 18m, Mitoma - 3m, Caicedo - 5m, Trossard - 16m, Bissouma - 17m, Mac Allister - 8m, Gross - 3m, Lamptey - 1m. Hopefully we are half as intelligent in the next couple of windows.
  6. Villa and the Muscle Heads? I see a music band forming from VT.......
  7. ye possibly! either way, Dendoncker looks a decent signings, and we got rid of slippy....so all's well that ends well
  8. However funny this is on face value (as we all hated Gerrard), i really hope it isnt true, to have a head scout overseeing a transfer that the manager isnt even aware of until they turn up for their medical, sounds like some back alley league 2 levels of club incompetency. As with everything Preece related, i imagine there might be a kernel of truth in the story somewhere, but i find it hard to believe this is true as stated. can you imagine our chief scout having a player turn up for a medical and Emery isnt even aware we were in for them?, yikes, amateur stuff. the only excuse for this happening (imo), is the board etc knew they were going to sack Gerrard, and we were making transfers with a view to knowing he wasnt going to be there long??
  9. oh, we have a spanish twitter?, nice! Didnt that spanish jorno keep asking us for a spanish twitter!?, cool!
  10. Daichi kamada (Japan & E.Frankfurt) is out of contract in the summer, we should try and pick him up in jan, or in the summer, very talented footballer. Can play as an attacking mid, second striker or MC, this season 22 games, 12 goals and 4 assists. Its possible he may not suit the Emery style?, unsure, but he would be a huge marketing opportunity to help grow the club, one of the most valuable japanese players in the world, and a very good player also.
  11. my lord there is some talent on a free this summer. Skriniar, Rashford, Tielemans, Jorginho, Zaha, Dalot, Ndicka, Trossard, Lemar, Thuram, Kamada, Moukoko, Laimer, Depay, Aouar, Brereton Diaz, Ceballos, Khedira.....the list goes on...... I hope we can secure one or two (or three)!
  12. im going to try and be positive and say we wont be relegated that aside, of the teams below us i just dont see Leicester, Leeds or West ham being in a genuine dog fight. Everton.......not sure, they seem to be able to do a Leeds and sh** out some random good results. Wolves, unsure, logic tells me they have a good enough squad to turn it around, but their run of 6 games after the WC is really tough (Everton - 6 pointer, Manure, Villa - who knows...., West Ham, Man City, Liverpool). I can see Bournemouth, Forest, Southampton & Wolves being in the main dog fight. So im gonna guess 3 from Everton, Bournemouth, Forest, Southampton or Wolves.

    Wolves

bottom of the league, 4 points from safety (effectively 5 points due to goal difference), and their run after the WC is pretty rough. Everton in Dec, which could go either way and a real 6 pointer for them both. followed by Manure, Villa, West Ham, Man City, Liverpool. thats a rough six games, us and Everton aside
  14. Zaha is the kind of pr*** who you hate, but would love if he was in your team, a bit like Grealish and his diving/intelligent team play.....depending on which side of the fence you are on. I havent seen any stories of us linked to Zaha?, other than the odd comment about how Emery wanted to sign Zaha over Pepe 120 years ago? I wouldnt say no to Zaha, clearly an extremely talented footballer, however, do we really want a player on such huge wages and probably a fairly long deal (who would prob cost a lot also transfer fee wise), who is 30 and probably coming to the stage where one of his biggest assets (his pace), will start to decline? I dunno, would prob prefer us trying to find the next Zaha (talent wise), than buying a player close to decline (i know players can still be very good post 30's, but if one of a players main strengths is their speed/agility etc, that is one of the things that will decline quicker with age, compared to intelligence, game IQ, movement, physicality etc etc, which can be maintained much later in to a players 30s).
  15. i assume this could be a lengthy ban if found guilty? Some rags are reporting he is being charged for 232 breaches between 2017 and 2021.........232 breaches!?!? Wasn't tripper banned for 10 weeks for 7 breaches? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63653384 Ivan Toney: Brentford and England striker charged by FA for breach of betting rules https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1697586/Brentford-Ivan-Toney-charged-by-FA-betting-rules-premier-league-news Brentford star Ivan Toney charged by FA for allegedly 'breaking betting rules 232 times'
  16. we would probably accept monopoly money for any of our players tbh.

    Matty Cash

on the bench for their friendly tonight versus Chile. looks like their right wing back starting is Frankowski (RC lens), who is apparently mostly a right midfielder who can also play right back a bit. wonder if he will be a starter for them at the WC.
  18. i know its stupid to think about, but i do wonder, if we had Emery from the start of this season, and "maybe" Emi played in all those games and did well, whether he would have had an outside chance of making the Argentina squad. He was been called up previously to the larger squad, but never made the cut, i wonder if Emery being in charge, assuming he does like Buendia, might mean Emi gets a chance in the future. who knows.
  19. why has he been given number 23 for Argentina?, and not no.1?
  20. assuming we dont "upgrade" anyone in the double pivot area (which we may...who knows), i would be interested to see kamara, Luiz, Dendoncker and Timmy as the 4 CM players next season. I get the impression Emery would rotate those 4 quite a bit also, or at least actually give the "backups" a reasonable amount of game time, especially when you consider he has used all 15 available subs in his 3 games so far.
  21. She really said that she didn't think that much of him?
