    I think it will be an interesting winter/summer window with Emery at the helm. I would imagine he will know the Spanish League/Spanish players inside out, i wouldnt be surprised to see us go shopping in the spanish transfer market, for known/less known players. for example, Brighton signed Estupinan (LB) from Villarreal this summer for 18m, they seem to know the Spanish/French & South American market well. With someone like Emery here now, maybe we wil be a bit more active in those markets, rather than where we have been buying from recently?

    imagine if we didnt have the Emery master class versus Manure in the league, we would be properly in the relegation zone right now.... (we would be 18th, 2 points from safety.....yikes).

    after Brentford's win looks like the first upper/lower table points split is happening. ie: 10th/11th - Brentford & Palace on 19 points, 12th/13th - Leeds & Villa on 15 points. lets hope we dont get left behind in the lower half.

    not sure i see the point in sending our clearly second choice loanee left back to his club in Jan. He's backup, he might even be backup to the backup (Digne > Young > Augustinsson - unless Cash is rested/injured and young plays RB, then Ludwig is clear LB backup). tbh in Jan i would rather spend every penny we have on a central defender, Winger/inside forward and striker, if at all possible (at least 1-2 of those positions). We really need to not be spunking our January budget on more backup squad players, we need to be spending every penny we have improving the first 11.

    thats kind of Villarreal, they can literally leave one or two players with us for when we sign them on Jan 1st

    he does need to go out on loan, we have quite literally wasted 6 months of his development. disgusting tbh, i thought we were past wasting our young players development opportunities. not sure if Gerrards fault?, probably.......

    yeah, i didnt mean a "winger" in the 80/90s sense, i meant a winger who can operate as a winger, an inside forward or as an inside striker type (like Bailey......or Zaha, or Sarr etc etc).

    yeah, i can see us buying a winger who is pretty rapid and technically competent. Can also see us looking to get a striker who is rapid so all our front players offer a threat on the break. i also think he will look to upgrade the defensive line with at least one DC who can play a high line and has good recovery speed. I can see Emery loving Carlos also, good on the ball and fast as heck (hope he still is after his injury).

    Something emerys recent games have highlighted is just how important athleticism is. When you see the speed and quick movement of many players, especially if you like to play higher up the pitch, you need the recovery speed, but also turn speed etc in our defensive line, one reason I think emery will like Carlos, Co patent on the ball but rapid also. When you have players like Zaha, Bailey, sarr etc etc, their ability to break at speed can really carve teams open. I hope we buy a similar type player for our right side so we have genuine athletic threat on both sides of the pitch. Tbh I would also like to see a forward in a similar mould, the ability to break at speed with our front line means teams are much less likely to be able to pin you in your half, and are generally scared to over commit forward as you pose such a risk on the break.

    I will forever be grateful for what he has given the club. But the fact is that he simply isn't anywhere near good enough to be one of the players to take us to the next level, i don't even think he is good enough for where we are right now.
