  1. Yeah, Fulham picked up palhinha for what......15m? Unreal that others, including us weren't after him.
  2. if we go for Hazard the entire recruitment team should be sacked on the spot. never gonna happen, the guy is a walking hamburger. i would quite literally bet £100 we dont sign him.
  3. are we sure he still has a contract with us? the below is from the AV website, implying his contract ran to June 22, i cant see a contract extension anywhere so im kind of assuming he isnt actually ours any more!? edit: maybe he did sign an extension, as he did officially go out on loan from us in May 22???? weird.....
  4. maybe we should bring agent Hogan home too!
  5. if it was a "huge" bid, i would consider it tbh.
  6. i think he's more of a squad player, below are all of Belgium's games for 2022 (highest is most recent fixture). Netherlands - Nations League - not in match squad Wales - Nations League - unused sub Poland - Nations League - started at right centre back (of a 3) Wales - Nations League - started at right centre back (of a 3) Poland - Nations League - started at right centre back (of a 3) Holland - Nations League - unused sub Burkina Faso - Friendly - came of as sub. Ireland - Friendly - started at Midfield Centre (of a 2).

    Ezri Konsa

personally i think he will be replaced within the next 6-12 months (ie: he will be a squad player). looking better now in terms of general performance since Emery took over, but he just isnt very comfortable on the ball, imo Emery will want his CDs to be good on the ball as he likes to build through the CDs/MCs. Carlos i think will be straight back in when fit, will be interesting to see if Emery see's Konsa or Mings as the other CD, or whether he will buy another CD to partner Carlos.
  8. wasnt there some drama with regard to bad/poor attitude from him earlier in the season?, which is why we didnt see him earlier?

    Unai Emery

tbf MOTD gave a good minute plus solely praising and showing our defensive shape when we were trying to close the game out (ie: when we did the back 5, the back 6 and closed down the angles). Decent little tidbits tbh. Emery is the man!
  11. what a tool. great player in his day, but modern successful teams cant "carry" players any more, the whole team needs to work out of possession, and he's just too old to press, which means its like playing defensively with 10 men. Or maybe i would be better saying, Man Utd arent good enough to be playing with 10 men, maybe there are a small number of teams out there who could carry a player who is nothing more than a world class goal hanger, but Man Utd sure aint one of em. he's just a world class goal poacher now, literally nothing else.
  12. Was mostly injured under Deano. Mainly played RW/right inside forward under Gerrard. Has mainly played as a Left wing inside forward striker for Emery tbh, he can play left or right, depending if you want his stronger foot on the outside or inside. So i suppose depending on how Emery see's him, we kinda need the opposite? He has basically played Left(ish) under Emery, which is why ppl are saying a right winger/right inside forward is needed.
  13. lets start the ball rolling now with regard to transfers and get 1-2 key players in for Jan 1st please!

what a job Emery has done tbh in just 2 games, i know Gerrard won 4 in 6 when he arrived, but this feels a little different to me, i felt we were more in a mess after Gerrard left than when Gerrard took over from Deano, i was genuinely concerned about where we might end up this season (before we appointed Emery). After Gerrard was sacked and we had wasted the "better" run of games, i was really concerned about the Manure > Brighton > Liverpool > Spurs run of games, i really thought we would be in big trouble by now and early Jan. Lets imagine we had lost versus Manure and Brighton, we would be on 12 points, 18th or 19th in the league and 2 points from safety with Liverpool and Spurs as our next 2 games after a break where the players probably wouldnt be overly confident knowing the position they were in. But, here we are with two wins, 18 points and up to 12th with some breathing space. all i can say is.....phew!
  15. Verstappen just showed what a nobber he is. If Verstappen was fighting for a champ i could maybe understand it, but thats clearly not the case. Perez drove his proverbial behind off last season to help Verstappen secure that title. what a kn*b.

some good points. I think historically the players failing fell on the manager wrongly or rightly, where as with Emery and the fact he was hired by Nassef Sawiris and has said he is here for "the project", i honestly feel like it will be on the players now (and rightly so), and if they arent good enough for Emery he will be given carte blanche to eject as many players as he wants to get the system working the way he wants. Not sure how to explain what i mean, but as i say, historically the players were mostly blameless (even we as fans sided with players etc - which is ofc normal), the managers took the brunt, but this time with Emery i dont think the players have anywhere to hide, Emery is levels above the players in terms of credibility, so i think it will be emery's way or the highway. For the record, im fully supportive of this, i dont care who comes or goes in the playing squad, the players have had their chance over the last 3 years, right now im backing the manager to do whatever he wants to do.
  17. i think he huffed and puffed a lot, without doing much. However, it was his through ball for McGinn that got the foul/penalty..... I think when we have signed another rapid winger to play opposite to Bailey, and maybe even a more mobile striker, Buendia will have more options for his magical through balls!

    Time Wasting

i think the problem is, that unwarranted "time wasting" is now just added on at the end of the game, so its kinda pointless, especially the yellow card you get for doing it. The best type of time wasting now is taking slightly longer for taking goal kicks, free kicks, throw ins etc etc, but defo short of a yellow card, as getting a yellow card for it is just silly imo. For me, the kind of extreme time wasting we are doing isnt clever, our players are getting yellow cards for it, and the time is then just added on at the end......so its double silly.
