  1. I've thought his performances has lacked three things. 1) shots 2) goals 3) runs and off ball movement. This match he got a goal with a great run. I'm pleased.
  2. I think you gotta give credit when credit's due. He was very much a team player against Bolton. Grealish scored a goal as well, and his lack of goals was always my biggest criticism of him. Well done all around.
  3. Because the Norwegian league is known for Tiki taka ?
  4. I've seen him plenty at both club and national level in Norway, and while I've never found him good (even for Norwegian standards), I've never seen him as bad as he is with Villa. Must be an underlying issue here.
  5. This. I'm surprised at the negativity towards him from yesterdays display. First time in his Villa career I thought he came across as a team player. Real shame about his pass to Hutton cause that was quite beautiful.
  6. He is way worse now then I've ever seen him. Must be something else going on with him. He was never great, but not this shit.
  7. You have to remember we are very shit at football ?
  8. This is a fair point, but I don't see many clubs throwing away as much money as we do on so much crap
  9. Question. I got promoted in my first season from div 2 and since my Norwegian club hasn't got the facilities for promotion I have to rent my rivals stadium next season. But when I go to the board to expand and fix the facilities/stadium, there is no such option. What's the deal here? Will I never have my own stadium?
  10. I just can't understand why we can't do like other clubs and sign young promising players for peanuts, on low wages, instead of spending huge amounts on settled ones. Bannan was signed by Palace for £ 1.5 mill?? Danny Drinkwater was signed by Leicester for £ 1 million. There are so many other examples. At least if players are signed for peanuts on low wages there will be some hunger in them, and they won't be terrified at the prospect of not delivering.
  11. I don't think he will make it, but I'd like to see him get a fair crack. However the notion that certain tactics don't work in the modern game is wrong. It's about players, coaching and general philosophy, not whether you play 451 442 433 or 41212. And fwiw didn't leicester win the league with a 442?
  12. Well I ended up buying it. Really enjoying it so far. Not ideal to play it on a XPS 13, screen is a bit small, but it's a good game. Currently in the Norwegian 2nd division, and I didn't know what poor ment before I did this. Just obscene how little money I have available. But I digress, great game. And I am pretty sure I am not even scraping the surface so far in terms of what you can get involved in.
  13. Which is largely one of the reasons we are stuck with shite hoofball managers season after season. Implementing a new style, that isn't as limited and far more entertaining, takes time. But too many fans refuse to see the long term.
  14. Out of interest, what abilities makes Jedi such a good DM?
  15. Norwegian media are claiming BBC has confirmed that Vichai was onboard.
  16. Looking at the match thread, I'm just bemused at the people who's critical of DS. He's been here for 2-3 weeks? Been in charge of 3 matches? In this period there's been an international break? He's had ZERO transfer windows to fix the shite Bruce left us with? What on earth did people expect? This season is pretty much written off for me. We gotta hope to adapt a solid playing style, add the right players in January, get rid of a couple of bad ones. Add more in the summer, and have a proper pre-season. That's it. Good stuff takes time.
  17. I can't watch it today. Someone cover and post every bit of action and you will get a hug
  18. Jedinak is an obvious CB in that bench. Whether we like it or not. Fullbacks aren't really needed as Elmo can rotate down. I am just disappointed O'Hare isn't there.
  19. Our fullbacks and wingers are so poor.
  20. I think people are expecting a bit too much. Hogan will start scoring when the team start creating. Still haven't seen us create much this season, other than the odd hoofball. Obviously Hogan won't do much with hoofballs. He's all about channel movements and poaching. Which is the type of football we'll see from DS I reckon.
  21. People keep saying we have the players. I seriously don't think we have. Abraham, Grealish, McGinn and Chester have sufficient quality. Our GK, fullbacks, wingers are piss poor. Our CB depth is non-existant. Our anchors are well passed it. If anything we don't have the players. I'd much prefer it if we kept signing hungry British players in the right age bracket, compared to signings like Nyland and El Ghazi or expensive mercs like Bolasie.
  22. He's obviously one of our best players. And obviously one we should keep and build a team around, BUT there are aspects of his game that needs radical improvement. 1) Releasing the ball quickly. He has a tendency to step on it for ages. 2) Being direct with the ball. Instead of dribbling the same man 3 times and slowing everything down, he can move forwards. 3) Finish attacking moves. He needs to shoot. He needs goals and assists, or he can and most likely will be replaced. 4) And personally I'd like to see more runs without the ball. He is normally solid with the ball, but I can't even remember when I saw him sprinting 60 yards like McGinn does to get into space. He always wants it into his feet.
