  1. How do? Except the fact we were better at football, I suspect that makes being a manager simpler ?
  2. Would like a poll in this thread with everyone that's linked. A poll where you can pick several poll options. At least it would be easy to see what managers we don't want.
  3. We need someone competent and hungry. I suspect it's more likely Henry will tick those boxes than Rodgers or a few others.
  4. I am not. His defence is about as useful as the maginot line
  5. Just puzzles me that you care so much about Henry's experience and CV. The last 8 years we've had 8-9 (?) managers with varying experience. From the very experienced and successful managers to the absolute novices. Yet there's no correlation and causality in terms of how well they do for us.
  6. Bit of a Strawman argument. They have a better CV than Henry cause he currently doesn't have one. He could very well turn out to be a great manager and then we would have **** all chance on landing him, thus we are in a position where we got to take risks.
  7. I don't mind either, but I wouldn't say they have a great CV.
  8. You really can't compare the football world with the requirement of the average work force joe. But I digress, I just wanted to say that the reason we have to take a punt on someone with a weak CV is because if they had a great CV, they wouldn't come to us. I'd much rather take a few punts on something that could lead somewhere fantastic, than being stuck with all the Bruce's, McLeish's and Pardew's of this world. Even if that means being stuck with the odd shite manager from time to time.
  9. Henry might be a huge flop, I don't know. But what I do know is that it's not likely he will be accepting hoofball and that's progress to me. Bring it on.
  10. I've been in the mountains the entire weekend. Is there any substance to these Henry rumours? Is it likely?
  11. So after being stuck with hoofball dinosaurs like MON, McLeish, Bruce etc. while watching the club getting shitter at football by the day, we think the solution would be to hire David **** Moyes. I refuse to believe anyone at this club would be stupid enough to think that's the way forward. Just not possible.
  12. They would lose most of the fan base before they even got started. Me included. It can't be Moyes.
  13. Me too. Just can't do one more hoofball dinosaur.
  14. I am not so sure it's a huge risk, or a bigger risk than others. People thought Bruce was a non-risk appointment. Turned out differently. Ultimately Henry will likely focus on pass and move, attacking football. No hoofball and he will have a name big enough to calm a dressingroom of rocket polishers who think they are the d'bollox. My biggest worry is whether he will bring solid backroom staff with him.
  15. Really is no way back from this. He has to be replaced. Most of us knew this 3 weeks ago, but hopefully the owners follow suit now.
  16. I've got nothing against Big Sam. I actually suspect he'd be hald decent for us, but I hope we can move on from these hoofball managers. MON, Big Sam, Bruce they are all the same shite. Some are just a bit more polished than others. Get in a DoF and start hireing managers who can implement pass and move.
  17. I think he would look 5 times the player once we implement a style of play that suits him, and add players that suitable to that style of play. Right now he looks as lost as JPA did trying to link up with Vassell and Allbäck.
  18. I am friends with a couple of hardcore Italian football fans and they claim he is terrible. No idea myself.
  19. I agree, but in fairness he wasn't given time. Ultimately the time you get and how you perform relative to your resources is what you should be judged on. RDM should have done better, but even great managers don't always get it right within a few months. What makes Bruce such a horrid manager for us is that he's had plenty of time and wasted it completely. It doesn't even look like we have a game plan, and that's after 24 months. Think my biggest issue with RDM was the stories about him living in London.
  20. Saying that Lambert who kept us in the PL on a championship budget under Lerner is a worse manager than Bruce who keeps us in the championship on a PL budget, well that's quite frankly bonkers. Have a word.
  21. Well to make any sort of sensible comparison you would have to factor is different stuff. For instance which league do you manage us in? How big is our salary cap relative to our opponents? How much money do we spend on transfers relative to our opponents? How good are our facilities and tools relative to our opponents? How good football do we play? How entertaining are we? How long of a time has the given manager had to implement his style of play? How many transfer windows has the manager had to shape his squad? Add all this together and I can't find a single manager that's done worse than Bruce. Sherwood is obviously up there considering his results, but other than that, nobody even comes close. But it's all opinions obviously.
  22. Too true. Especially the importance of parachute payments and ffp. He has been given a ferrari in a race filled with scooters and somehow failed. And it's not like we've played good footy and been unlucky. The football has been turd his entire reign. And while it's absurd to say, I genuinly think I would have done better managing this team myself. Not even joking.
