  1. I'm just glad I come back after a week off from Villa and there's news outside of supporters opinions on Bruce!
  2. Apologies if already posted, I haven't been through the thread in its entirety.
  3. Equal knob heads for everyone!
  4. I wouldn't have the slightest clue. I don't even know what constitutes legitimate source of income in order to comply with FFP, aside from gate money and player sales. If it's 40 million on top of that. I can't see us having anyone with a record of note playing for us come the start of the season. Your comment of too little too late and being more sane than we were previously has gone over my head, can you elaborate? As far as I'm concerned I'm none the wiser than when I first caught wind that we were up *hit creek.
  5. I'll check this out today. I neglected the title as I was ignorant to it. Does not deter me from his viewpoint in any way, perhaps this video that you've posted will.
  6. Perhaps crucifixion was not all that uncommon. Why was he such a significant feature of the stories that have ensued? Was he a miracle worker or simply a man of altruistic and benevolent principles who had the leadership qualities to inspire others, in a time, where as you say, Roman brutality oversaw most of Europe, parts of Africa and the Middle East? There is account from a Roman Governor from Asia Minor (not far from Nazareth) who writes that Christians worshiped Jesus as a God and were bound by a set of moral beliefs. People worship LeBron James as a God like figure, ironically he is worshiped more for his ability to put a leather ball in a metal ring than for his charity and goodwill. And that's what sparks my interest in Jesus, we are still talking about him today. Whereas there will be multiple LBJ's that come and go in the next 100 years. "If you are certain, you're certainly wrong, because nothing deserves certainty." Convinced them of what exactly? That Jesus was just a historical figure and not in fact this supernatural being? That the patriarchal man in the sky does not really exist? I am more than open to this. I find the Muslim belief that Jesus was a prophet and not the son of God to be easier to wrap my head around than the Christian. Both confuse me as to how a virgin birth came to be, among other aspects of it all. So let's be clear if it wasn't already, my belief in God does not have its roots in Christianity, Islam, Buddhism or any organised religion. For the same reason I don't accept materialist scientists viewpoint on consciousness as final, it may reveal some truths but is far from all encompassing.
  7. I will draw another comparison: Luka Modric, if memory serves correct, and I'm quite confident it does, Luka was Jack's age when he sealed his move to Tottenham. Modric had just scored 17 goals for Dinamo Zagreb in the season before, something Jack has not achieved, still, the point is only to highlight that all three players, indisputably world class players, were gaining recognition and finding their feet on the world stage at the age Jack finds himself at. If you paid any attention to Jack's performances beyond what the stats say, you will have seen a player who, if he emulates what he did in the Championship to the PL, is a player bound for the top level.
  8. While I think you've done a pretty good job at discrediting my original statements merit I'm going to highlight a few flaws in yours. David Silva was not 21 when he joined the PL, he was 25, 24 maybe. You are correct on Coutinho, however you fail to highlight the fact that prior to Liverpool he barely featured for Inter Milan. Jack had over 30 games in the Premier League when Coutinho was playing less than that for Inter. Another thing, you quite rightly highlight the selection for national sides, both arguably harder to crack in to than England, and the Champions League performances. What you don't mention is that both Coutinho and Silva played in leagues where a large portion of the competition is of the level you try and discredit Jack for playing at!
  9. I knew the name but had to google him. Why is that?
  10. Not quite how I remembered it ? Coutinho sealed his move to Liverpool at the age Jack is potentially going to seal his move to Tottenham, Coutniho played 30 games and had around 5 goals. Silva did not emark upon the Premier League until the age of 25. At Jack's age he was not contributing a large number of goals. Jack was 18 when he had his first full season in the Prem. It has been touted that Jack will play for England soon enough, and the point of comparison is that I am in line with that thinking.
  11. In all seriousness it's good to get the feedback that we have some promising youth, who might be ready to make the step up.
  12. I'll have 50 kilo's of whatever you're on!
  13. I have compared him to Coutinho and David Silva on numerous occasion. Look at the stats for what those guys were doing at Jack's age.
  14. "And I can tell you when I left, everyone was thrilled" Not sure that one came out the way you intended it Mr. Trump ?
  15. The S&S Pork is easily two sittings alone, not just an average bowl. And I often eat one of those rolls for lunch and I'm good, two would be an ideal amount. But otherwise nothing monstrous, no.
  16. Had a class where my teacher (super extroverted) was discussing the importance of body language and active listening in counseling. I drop the comment that something like 5% of communication is verbal, 95% non verbal, and he's off and racing giving demonstration, waving his arms about like he's conductor of an orchestra. We do an exercise where we put it in to practice and I am partnered with him. The exercise simply involves picking a topic and speaking about it for a minute, then partner relays back what they heard for 30 seconds. He speaks first, I recite everything he says and relay it back to him, he commends me on being a great listener but is critical of me sitting still with my hands in my lap. I speak, he uses his active listening techniques to interrupt me on multiple occasions and a demeanour which I found OTT and distracting, then, for such a simple task I was surprised to see how little of what I said he could remember. Maybe I was at fault for this, *ucked if I know. Definitely shouldn't piss me off but it kinda did. I was relaxed and focused on the content of his message, which I'm pretty sure is paramount in counseling, the client will value being heard. I'm supposed to ditch that and interrupt with comments like, 'oh really', fake smile and a lean in like we're about to make out, in order to demonstrate active listening? I get the importance of being approachable and being engaged when someone is talking to you, but man, I just could not identify with this guys level of enthusiasm for the techniques. It's like the phrase 'pro-active', what's wrong with just being active. Active-listening, is it really so improved on listening.
  17. Had my first day back training in a professional environment after 6 months out with injury. Got home at midnight, woke up the next day, had uni. Blah, blah, hadn't eaten for 13 hours since before training and uni is next to one of the best food hubs in Melbourne. Next thing you know: 1 x Sweet and Sour Pork w Rice 2 x combination pork rolls 2 x dim sims 1 x vanilla slice Walked in with calves like Grealish, walked out with a belly like McCormack.
  18. Give us Bojan on 5k per week instead.
  19. Thanks for posting this. Unfortunately it makes me angry for a few reasons. We're going to lose Grealish for one, a sad indictment of how low things are. Then you've got the whole FFP thing, which by design is meant to be a preventative measure which as far as I can see is only aiding our demise, so a sad indictment on football if there's any truth to that.
  20. I have to agree with the overly complicated reasoning, then on the other hand if done successfully you'd have confusion and hysteria, and the perfect platform to wage a war on terror. No, the Northwood documents suggested the hijacking of planes and violent attacks of terrorism on U.S civilians among other suggestions. "The operation proposed creating public support for a war against Cuba by blaming it for terrorist acts that would actually be perpetrated by the U.S. Government" It took 30 years for that information to be released, and they were just proposals. You'd never find out if a government actually went through with something like that. As for the being no prelude, what ensued? One great big colonial adventure. A multi billion dollar war on terror, with contracts like the 7 billion dollar one that went exclusively to Halliburton, the former company of VPOTUS at the time, Cheney. The same Cheney who was responsible for funding Al-Qaeda with 6 billion from 1989-1992.
  21. Who are the 7 that come before? Thor, Hourihance, Lansbury, Whelan, Jedinak? Surely he's ahead of Gardner? And with Jedinak and Whelan at their age it might be worth giving someone we paid a large sum for the chance to show his worth (I haven't seen Tish play in a long time, so no idea on his progress)?
