  1. It was flat as a witch’s tits to be honest. To be fair, we had nothing to play for and it was one of Burnley’s biggest games of the season. Much as I dislike Leeds and want them relegated, at least games against them have an edge, and fire the crowd up.
  2. The love-in for Keinan Davis over on the Forest forum is heart-warming. They think he’s superb. Changed the dynamic of the game last night at a time when Forest were on the ropes. Hugely pleased for the big man.
  3. If roles were reversed Leeds fans would be overjoyed at the prospect of us being relegated. If Burnley went down, I’d feel indifferent about it. If Leeds go down I’ll p*ss myself laughing.
  4. I share the same childish humour - just posted exactly the same in the midweek matches thread
  5. Commentator is the Leeds game just shouted “and Koch is in there”
  6. I can excuse the couple of misplaced passes that could have proved costly because that was a tough game to come back to after so long out. In the run up to him being injured he’d really improved with his distribution. With him in the team we immediately look more balanced; it’s no coincidence we did well when Gerrard gave him a decent run in the side. Overall, did well last night considering the context, and his break-up play was excellent. I’d stick with him for the next few games as I think our overall game is better with a combative CM in there.
  7. This is wonderful. I’d happily throw our next game against Burnley if it sends Leeds down.
  8. Or to save time, you can get 500-1 on Sky Bet for Villa to be relegated.
  9. Allegedly he’s a fullback that doesn’t defend, but I thought his positional play and defending were excellent tonight.
  10. Oozes class. Needs more game time; hope he gets a chance of a run in the team soon.
  11. A player back from an injury much sooner than was expected? Leon Bailey recovered from injury and on the bench? What witchcraft is this?
  12. The thing is, a dodgy defence doesn’t necessarily mean your defenders are poor. The same defence looked a lot more solid prior to Nakamba being injured. Defensive responsibilities are throughout the team. Fail to sort that and you’ll always concede too many chances. I do worry that we’ll lose the midfield battle today like we did against Leeds.
  13. I have bad feelings about this one too. Newcastle have looked much improved the last few games and defensively we were a shambles defensively against Leeds. My wife’s a Geordie and whilst she’s not into football I’m not looking forward to the grief from her family and friends if we lose. It’s like a local derby for me.
  14. Where is it confirmed he’s definitely out? Not doubting for one minute he’ll miss the game, just our luck, but the only thing I’ve seen is that he’s a major doubt.
  15. And Adidas have now ended their sponsorship deal with him too. Some pretty serious shit hitting the fan now. Deserves everything that’s coming to him.
  16. Hardly a surprise sadly that Moyes, another scumbag with no morals, and who issued veiled threats to a female reporter, picks an an animal abusing low-life.
  17. Targett and Burn are an upgrade on what they currently have. Whether Burn can replicate his Brighton form, in a different system and under a different manager, remains to be seen. If they’d signed these 2 under Mike Ashley and Steve Bruce, the fans would be in uproar. Guimares sounds very highly rated and will likely turn out to be a very good signing long-term. However, with the step up to the pace and physicality of the Premier League from Ligue 1, it could take him some time to adapt. They needed another attacking player but they’ve failed to land one. It’s a mixed bag. I think they’re strong enough to stay up, but I really hope I’m proved wrong.
  18. Well what’s done’s done. I have no hard feelings towards Matt Targett himself, he’s been a decent servant for us in his time here, and was brilliant last season. However I do hope the fat pasty lard-arse goes on to do an Agent Ridgwell in his time with the head-choppers.
