  1. I'd take that over accusations of players being total dickheads when pictures emerged of them seeing how far they could spit chewing gum from the bench.
  2. Hopefully the c*^ts in our squad will be shipped out. His CV is good, I'm cautiously optimistic (that term's been used a lot lately) about next season.
  3. We are damaged goods at the moment and beggers can't be choosers. That's been stated before. We can worry about Europe if and when we achieve our shorter term objectives. The next manager needs to do that and I can see pros and cons with most of the candidates in the frame. Pep Guardiola might be interested in us in a few years time but until then...
  4. New owner will be wanting to change Idrissa Gueye's squad number for next season then.
  5. Interesting analogy. I guess by the same token, having Neil Warnock as manager would be like having a kick in the knackers from Stuart Pearce's left foot.
  6. Hughton is a highly respected and well regarded manager in football with an impressive record at a number of clubs. I don't really see where the colour of his skin comes into it; he's recognised on merit. I'm sure many of us would have been more than happy to have had him at the Villa but he's got a good position at Brighton where he's clearly valued.
  7. Is this actually true? The odds on Oddschecker don't seem to suggest he has. They moved out significantly as soon as news of Moyes' snub broke but Pearson is still as low as 2/1 with some bookies.
  8. All professional services firms will get things wrong occasionally, but they also get a lot of things right. I've worked in the industry for many years; it's heavily regulated and mistakes can cause huge reputational damage. Given his credentials I remain optimistic that Steve Hollie has done the right due diligence here. I too can't imagine how a prospective manager have found out anything that Hollis would not already have been aware of.
  9. Villa have been doing something similar with footballers for many years.
  10. I'd like to see a Corkscrew, sponsored by Paul McGrath. And if animal attractions are allowed, a Reptile House, sponsored by Fabian 'The Snake' Delph.
  11. And ends similarly to Alton Towers' Smiler.
  12. Hello everyone Long time Villa fan and long time reader of this forum, finally decided it was time to take the plunge. First started going to Villa games in the 80s, was a season ticket holder during the 90s and lucky enough to be at Wembly for both of our cup final wins. Since marriage and kids (and Villa generally going downhill!) my attendance has diminished and I pick and choose my games these days. Highlights include Big Ron's first game in charge, 2-3 away at Wednesday and the semi-final second leg against Tranmere. Oh, and the 5-1 home victory against the noses in 2008.
