  1. When playing Sunday league, if my side is awarded a penalty I always turn around and face our goalkeeper.
  2. I don't have enough time to watch much at the moment other than catching shortened versions of Piston's games (& @Brumerican's weekly highlights post). Piston's have been shooting unusually well from deep this season. I particularly like the form the Galloway, Kennard & Svi. In terms of ones that come to mind immediately is probably Danny Green. Terrified of him.
  3. Somewhat Regular Premier League Tidbits We've played Leicester 20 times in the Premier League for a record of 4 wins, 9 draws & 7 defeats, scoring 1.5 GPG and conceding 1.55 GPG with an average of 1.05 points per game. In our relegation season we drew 1-1 with them at Villa Park and won 2-1 the season before that. You have to go back to 2001/02 since they last won at Villa Park in the league.
  4. Jovic needs to get out of Madrid. Think he'll become a star.
  5. Summary from Tuesday night Hepburn-Murphy (Tranmere) Home to Manchester United U/21s [EFL Trophy] (3-2) - Came off after 47 minutes (stretchered off). Scored.
  6. The Harden missed dunk is incredible, but the Rockets are becoming the most whiney organisation in the NBA.
  7. Somewhat Regular Premier League Tidbits We've played Manchester United 48 times in the Premier League for a record of 12 wins, 12 draws & 24 defeats, scoring 0.9583 GPG and conceding 1.6458 GPG with an average of 1 point per game. As you would expect our record at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League is not as favourable as Villa Park with a total of 4 wins, 5 draws and 15 defeats. Averaging 1 GPG and conceding 2.125 PG and earning 0.7083 points per game. The location of horrible 8-0 and 7-1 defeats in the past decade. Here's some fonder times:
  8. Summary from Tuesday night - #O'HareOut O'Hare (Coventry) Away at MK Dons [EFL Trophy] (2-0) - Came off after 60 minutes.
  9. Tammy is out yes? That means either Giroud or Batshuayi up front right?
  10. Summary from the weekend - Hogan freed, Bree battered, O'Hare earns a replay. Bree (Luton) Away at Brentford (7-0) - Played 90 minutes. WhoScored.com rating of 5.52. Doyle-Hayes (Cheltenham) Home to Port Vale [FA Cup] (1-3) - Replaced after 82 minutes. (see post above for @cheltenham_villa's report). Green (Preston) Home to WBA (0-1) - Not in the squad. #FreeAndre Hepburn-Murphy (Tranmere) Home to Chichester City [FA Cup] (5-1) - Played 90 minutes. (Ex-Villan Corey Taylor scored a brace). Hogan (Stoke) Home to Blackburn (1-2) - Came on after 62 minutes. WhoScored.com rating of 6.26. Touch count - 8. O'Hare (Coventry) Home to Ipswich [FA Cup] (1-1) - Came on after 57 minutes. Scored late equaliser. Sarkic (Livingston) Home to Hamilton (0-0) - Played 90 minutes.
  11. I’m so pessimistic about this weekend I just put on a United/Steelers multi from years of being beaten down in the gutter.
  12. Bills haven't got the easiest run home (Ravens, Steelers, Patriots & Jets) but surely they've done enough for a WC now.
  13. Somewhat Regular Premier League Tidbits We've played Manchester United 48 times in the Premier League for a record of 3 wins, 11 draws & 34 defeats, scoring 0.5625 GPG and conceding 1.8125 GPG with an average of 0.417 points per game. Last time we defeated them at Old Trafford was back in 2009/10 when we won 1-0 thanks to a Gabby Agbonlahor header. It is also our only victory at Old Trafford in the Premier League. Our two wins came at Villa Park back in 1992/93 & 1995/96. I said it last week and I'll say it again, our record against them is **** atrocious.
  14. Out of the guys I mentioned above my guess is that we would try and keep Doyle-Hayes, O'Hare & Sarkic.
  15. Like a lot of our loan players (Doyle-Hayes, Hepburn-Murphy, O'Hare & Sarkic), by my research he's out of contract at the end of the season. Whilst I hope we re-sign a few of those players I think we're probably planning for 2020/21 without Andre on the books and subsequently aren't too fussed about his current situation.
  16. Have a feeling he'll score against United.
  17. Well it hadn't happened in 145 years and I double we'll ever see it again in my lifetime. I think that deserves a little bit more than "very impressive". Anyway, moving away from semantics and back to the argument that will never die... For mine Bruce deserves credit for stabilising the club from sliding towards League 1 and helping in rebuild the toxic club culture, but also deserves criticism for the bizarre defensive options he left the club with and subsequently playing James Chester into the ground. I couldn't be happier with the fact he's no longer associated with our club and it's an added bonus we get to face him each season as I believe it gives us a very good chance of racking up 6 points each time we do.
  18. Aston Villa Football Club won 10 games in a row. That in itself is a miracle.
  19. The just finished reading The Billionaire's Club by James Montague. Top read for anyone interested in the influx of money into football over the past two decades and the source of it. Lerner & Xia get a couple of small mentions.
  20. Lovely outside of the foot pass that got the assist for Inter's third goal against Slavia Prague. I'd have him at Villa
  21. Summary from Wednesday night - Grass isn't always Greener Green (Preston) Away at Hull (4-0) - Not in the squad. #FreeAndre
  22. Reading on ESPN that the statue has since been set on fire?
