  1. The Ashcroft v Jagger/Richards battle finally ends. Would be interested to get an idea on how much Andrew Oldham has made over the years from the song. BBC link
  2. Would be the summer after that if it was a 5 year contract then?
  3. And what song are you singing while all this is taking place?
  4. Cheers, but I think I have a higher oil to hair ratio than most so think i’m ok.
  5. Well yes, it is a haircut. But what I was saying was that since I’ve been having my hair shorter (grade 1 or 2), i’ve been washing my hair pretty much every day whereas before when I was sporting a longer haircut I wouldn’t wash it every day because it would get frizzy.
  6. Shaving it with electric clippers. Like a buzz cut. It’s done in different grades - grade 1 is 3mm hair length, grade 2 is 6mm in length and so on. “Grading” probably isn’t the right word, but “shaving” it could be interpreted as a bic wet shave or something.
  7. I don’t feel clean unless my head/face has been washed. Since I started grading my hair, I wash my hair (and subsequently the rest of my head) pretty much every day these days. The areas of concentrated washing - head/face, armpits, cock & balls, arse and general perineum area. They’re the important bits. Everywhere else gets a soapy rinse over.
  8. Anyone else have a sudden urge to watch “The Omen”?
  9. This sounds like a terrible sequel to “The postman always rings twice”.
  10. They’re clean enough, a rinse with some soapy water is sufficient.
  11. Gee, thanks armitage shanks, that’s really informative.
  12. My legs get wet, but probably aren’t “washed”. Unless they’re muddy, like stevo says. I suppose thinking about it, I don’t wash my back either. Soapy water gets on it and it’s rinsed off, but only as a result of elsewhere being cleaned.
  13. Well as for a player’s final three games for a club go, Kompany’s were pretty damn good.
  14. I’ve thought this recently. Jenas is bad, but I have a vague memory of him being ok at the start. Maybe it was just because he was new and not Lawro that made me think he was ok. I’d rather they promote the likes of Kevin Kilbane to the bigger games. I don’t find him particularly insightful but he seems like a decent sort and not insufferable like the majority of them.
  15. The standing up/sitting down to wipe debate. The honeytrap thread. Whether cabbage throwing at football for the greater good is justifiable. There have been some wonderfully quirky/bizarre discussions held on here. But every year, without fail, the popularity of the Eurovision Song Contest on VT always leaves me baffled. Well, each to their own, enjoy it fellas. I may keep an eye on this thread and if one of the acts goes down a storm on here, I may have a quick look.
  16. Well, based on the empty seats that can be seen when they’re in Europe, they’re not attracting many rich glory supporters. There might be a fair few old school supporters who have been priced out by the sheer number of cup games.
  17. Probably one for the FFP thread I get why people don’t like them and think they’re unfair. But I can see the need for some sort of financial safety net when a club is relegated. Think they can be a double edged sword. We were taken for a ride by several clubs and overpaid massively which in turn helped our rivals out. I don’t know who Fulham spent the £12m we gave them for McCormack on, but if for whatever reason a Fulham supporter started to complain about FFP, I’d be quite happy to point out how our parachute payment benefited them more than us. For what it’s worth, while we’ve pissed away a fortune, the starting line up that could secure us promotion on 27th May (nice segue back to our promotion push there eh?) could cost around £10m in transfer costs, if it’s the same as the one that started the second leg. Of course I don’t know what the loan signings will be on, I suspect a lot. But there’s a mixture of home grown players, loan signings and reasonably shrewd purchases. The only likely big money signing who could start is Kodjia.
  18. I think a “burnout” can be mental as much as physical. You can’t say “oh the dirty Leeds thing was before I was born” but then use incidents that involved John Terry when he was Chelsea to slur Villa. It’s inconsistent. You’re letting yourself down here.
  19. @Cjay, if we do lose to Derby, would that mean the original statement about the Leeds burnout was incorrect?
  20. Rubbish. It was TWO billionaire owners...
  21. Derby weren’t in great form when we last played them, 1 win, 2 draws and 2 defeats in the league going into that fixture. But of course we weren’t in great shape either - 3 draws and 2 defeats in the previous 5 games. Before our 3-0 win earlier in the season, we had won 2 and lost 3 of the 5 games going into that fixture. Derby were 6 league games undefeated going into the game, having beaten small heath, WBA, Sheff Utd and drawing with QPR, Boro and Norwich. Pretty good form I would say. The point is, the current form of both sides is about as relevant as the results of our previous encounters, probably less so.
  22. To be honest mate, I’m pleased we’re not facing you. Although Derby will give us plenty of food for thought, I would anticipate a harder, much more ill tempered game due to our last encounter. Would have been fascinating for the neutral I imagine, but I’d have dreaded it and I think some supporters from both sides would have done so too. I wouldn’t mind seeing Leeds back in the top flight one day, it would be interesting. But not at our expense and like I say, after our last game it would have been a fairly bitter pill to swallow for either side to lose to the other had it turned out that way. All the best for next season, and on a personal note, hope you stick around on here, regardless of where Villa are.
  23. Thanks Limpid, that’s working nicely now, much appreciated.
  24. I suppose people are a just bit surprised he wasn’t one of the first five. I must admit he’d be in my mind for taking one. After all he was the one who stepped up after Tammy missed against Rotherham. As well as Tammy we had Grealish, Hourihane and Jedinak all on the pitch when that penalty was given, yet Jimmy fancied it then. Just a little curious I guess. But then Grealish was on the pitch when Whelan stepped up back in October, so who knows. If we had lost the shootout it would be bugging me a hell of a lot more, but we didn’t so it doesn’t.
