  1. He will go back to Italy, sounds like we was just a move to get him out of Turkey and keep him away from the media scrum around the gambling problems, once its settled down (next season) my guess he gets a permanent move to Italy.
  2. Sometimes a fight deserves two winners and that was one of em, lions with bollox the size of Mellons.
  3. Must be the pressure manure exerted by drawing to Brentford.....Neville
  4. If their just going away to get beat then I don't see the point in going and that's what England are doing under Southgate and Holland. There's not a chance in hell we are getting past the first decent team with a good manager, that's a fact. I would rather go on holiday and make the most of my time off work, which is what most players are doing. When Southgate goes and if we then get a manager and coach who are decent then things might change.

    Ezri Konsa

Great ball into the danger area that created a goal. It's what players should be doing when they get into decent positions. Moreno, Cash and a few others tend to want to play a perfect pass into one of our players but sometimes you just have to play it into a dangerous area and see what happens, this is exactly what Konsa did. Balls driven into the box from the byline is nightmare for defenders and keepers to clear, we have countless chances to do it, Moreno, but tend to over play it. Just drive the ball low and hard, at best a goal, at the worst a corner or a rushed clearance.
  6. Hopefully he ain't injured to badly. Reckon it will have to be managed for the rest of the season though and it will give Duran a chance to get some game time and maybe Rogers, Zaniolo as well.
  7. Great tackle and recovery as well, got straight back up off his arse and took the ball, nice little lay off to Doug ( who then lost the ball holding onto it too long). Would like to have seen him come on a little earlier but that's easy to say when the games over and we have won. I do think there's a player in there for us, question is can he do it now and from the start of next season, if there's doubts then we have to buy/loan a Kamara replacement and Tim has to build his career elsewhere, which would be a shame.
  8. Poch started it all off with his Chelsea should be 4th nonsense. Love a reporter to actually engage with them and suggest changing the point system to reflect these stats, that would take the wind out of their sails.
  9. His running with the ball and tight control is a fantastic attribute, he rode 2 challenges/ fouls before the ref had to stop play for the final rugby style pull back, this boys got ability that's for sure. Defensively he's getting better, noticeable that he didn't lunge in like he had been ( picking up a yellow cards), he used his positioning rather than physical engaging which is a improvement but he needs to find more of a balance between the two. He's shown enough ability, next season he's going to a huge player for us, unbelievable signing.
  10. Main stream social media platforms, I quit them all 10 years ago, probably why I'm on here so much. Found them draining.
  11. Great player and I'm sure he's a great bloke as well. With plenty of years ahead of him, wherever he is he'll undoubtedly continue to kick the shit out life, with both feet. ALB Sid.
  12. This is how I see it as well, must be niave I suppose. The administrators would still keep it running while trying to sell the assets off which could be brought back cheaply.
  13. Loved his header to keep the ball in play, typical Ollie tbh, effort levels are always 100%. Think we may see a rejuvenated ollie once we get on with the serious business of the top 4, he will score against wolves, its almost guaranteed.
  14. Think they borrowed money to pay shareholders a big dividend when interest rates were low but the recent interest rate raise has made the repayments unaffordable. Capital investment was never mentioned but I do note that £5b was spent on a sewerage pipe for London so where that money has come from is a mystery. Tbh it seems like a load of fraudulent owners have rinsed it, left an empty shell that's now unable to meet its obligations, processing our waste water. It has managed to provide us with drinking water so far but I do wonder who's monitoring the quality of that, our water leaves a distinct stale smell in the waste pipes as of late, I threw a dishwasher out thinking it was faulty only for the new one to emit the same ordor........
  15. Unless the wealthy pay more tax or the pension is means tested or ask today's pensioners to pay national insurance over a certain threshold? There's not one answer to this, especially one that's most unfair to a certain group of tax payers/workers but that's the retric that's been set by certain politicians and areas of society. Fair distribution of wealth is what's required, not bashing those that need state pension the most and at a younger age than most. Tbh if it happens and the pension age is raised again and again the backlash from the younger generation will probably destroy state pensions for good, I wonder who that would please?
  16. So the trend over the last 5 years is negative, declining. The age of retirement has increased by 2 years to 67 and will further increase to 68, so that's a 3 year increase in retirement age. The graph below, as posted before illustrates the figures for Birmingham and show no major increase in life expectancy, certainly not 3 years extra.
  17. Raising the retirement age would disproportionately affect the areas of society where the age of death hasn't increased. Kick em while their down ay.
  18. If there was entertainment in the area, shopping, cafes, resteraunts, cinemas , bowling alleys, casinos......then hopefully people wouldn't all want to turn up 10 minutes before the match and leave straight after the final whistle. Which is what I do at the moment. The Mrs could even come along and spend a couple of hours browsing the shops while I'm watching villa cement their place at the top of the premier league!
  19. Outside of match days Aston and Witton wouldn't be that busy, trains may pass straight through. Birmingham International feeds the NEC and the airport and is on the mainline to London, there's a few platforms there. Once HS2 and the metroline is complete it will be well served, even got an airport. Its unrivalled within the UK or will be .
  20. UK regulator relaxes effluent rules as water treatment firms begin running out of chemicals https://www.thechemicalengineer.com/news/uk-regulator-relaxes-effluent-rules-as-water-treatment-firms-begin-running-out-of-chemicals/#:~:text=A SHORTAGE of chemicals used,an industry group has warned.
  21. Versatility: Watkins has shown versatility by playing as a winger as well as a striker, offering more options for his team tactically. Premier League Experience: Watkins has proven himself in the Premier League with Aston Villa, showcasing his ability to perform at the highest level consistently. Goal-scoring Record: While both players have impressive goal-scoring records, some might argue that Watkins' performances in the Premier League carry more weight than Toney's performances in the Championship. Work Rate: Watkins is known for his work rate off the ball, pressing defenders and contributing to his team's defensive efforts, which adds value beyond just scoring goals.
  22. Disappearance of the Brexit bus promising NHS funding hasn't been blamed.
  23. Population center of the UK is, surprisingly, Leicestershire. Its not really music I was relating to tbh, football and sports events would be the main area. But obviously music could fit in and if artists aren't going to visit the UK that often then maybe its better to visit one central location that can better suit the whole country. Villa Park is not going to work long term, it's struggling now and revenue generated from 40k fans is small, a few burgers stalls and pint in a plastic glass isn't going to push us.
  24. No disrespect to Cardiff, Birmingham is in the middle of the country with a huge catchment area, the largest in the country for 100 miles, (London, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds , Bristol all within that radius) There's a place for a stadium in the middle of the country that can host national events, everyone travelling down to London to watch play offs, semi finals is going to date really quickly if their travelling past a stadium that can host these events and host them well. It will take some vision but all great things do.
