  1. This was about half 5 I think. They had just queued in tesco for a good while for the toilet. I should have just dropped and ran then, but Mrs doesn't like big crowds and not knowing where she's going so thought I'd walk them to the gate.
  2. I took the wife and eldest to Villa Park for Pink. Queues to get in were mental. They are in Trinity, North end side. I thought I'd walk them through the main car park. That was no access, then steps up past Holte were no access, finally got all the way round and realised the queue went all the way back to the Holte hotel I left them to it at that point. It probably said in the information but of course I just said I know where you need to go Hopefully picking them up is a bit smoother.
  3. Despite his performance at Villa, he still wouldn't have got one more crack at management in this country. Going by how out of his depth he was here it would be his last though. So if he is to take one more job, he may as well get a (presumably) very well paid one. A little bit of success over there and he may even get another crack somewhere over here, before being found out again. He may well have learnt some lessons but I get a feeling he won't put that effort in to correct his wrongs.
  4. Too late for my last DD on the 28th May but it was suggested I lower it from £210 to £201. They've already suggested I lower it again to £166.
  5. I'm hoping that the buzz round the fans, players and club as the season comes to an end will give us that extra confidence when next season commences. You quite often see it carry on at least to start with. It happened to us after our first season and the survival push and an extreme example being Leicester who had that good run to get out of trouble and actually managed to maintain it to the end. Obviously winning the league might be a bit of a reach but if we can start well who knows what we could achieve. Thinking optimistically having more teams trying to challenge for the top 4/top 7 could actually be a benefit rather than a hinderance. Than if it was just us trying to break into the Sky6.
  6. Does seem a bit of substance to this and reminds me of Kamara last year, rather than Rashica. Will just have to wait and see. Agents are hardly the most honourable people but if the owners have been developing more of a relationship with Mendes and he's looking to make some money from us, you wouldn't have thought it's misinformation from him. Whether he ends up at Villa is another matter though.
  7. The butter wouldn't melt look of my dog above has been channelling her inner cat and caught a bird in the back garden as I'm getting ready to go to the game. I wasnt expecting to have to euthanise a bird today She caught a mouse last year too.
  8. My mom had the same happen last week. Thankfully she was wary of it. I received a recruitment company WhatsApp the other day, saying they were from Man power. Plenty of things pointed to a scam including her name being Rubby.
  9. They occasionally appear on those nostalgia TV programmes, top 100 kids TV etc. I used to enjoy them as a kid. Like you say I think they could have transitioned come the end of Going Live. I did have a signed picture of theirs from when I played Nip the squid with Sarah Greene on Going Live and got signed photos of them, Sarah Greene, Schofield, Trevor & Simon and Gordon the gopher .
  10. Weird how you're brain works (that pessimism in you) I've gone from thinking a draw isn't the end of the world today to thinking we need to win to shut that Brentford door.
  11. Not for a while though, as I developed alopecia 3 1/2 years after that. So now just a baldy. Some would say life has thrown me a bad hand
  12. Just to take the limelight off @El Zenand his ginger hair. We were watching Pointless and my daughter said i should go on because I was getting pointless answers. I told her i'd been on a gameshow before (I didn't actually get to speak) Here's a grainy picture of me at No39 in 2001. With what we know about him now I'm disappointed he didn't try it on with me Although I was still probably a bit old even then.
  13. Which reminds me that Spurs took a free kick for offside in our half!
  14. I think this season before the World Cup I was touch and go whether we should cash in as while I rated him highly we could possibly benefit from a sale. I think since the World Cup he's been in pretty hot form and I'm not sure we could replace him with the same or better standard. It would be one amazing purchase If we did. I'm not sure I can name a keeper that wouldn't have a similar premium to Martinez that comes close to him. Martinez himself proves its possible to do but it's hard.
  15. I've got my own opinions on the penalty however I do think it would be given 90% of the time. I would love to see the offside call though. It looked offside but not seen it yet Away from that. Not enought credit is given to our defensive line. It is so easy to get wrong but they do it so well. It's the attackers that get criticised for getting caught out time and time again but it's all down to the defensive organisation. We do need to get it spot on again against Liverpool or we will get caught out. On the same subject, I get that the linesmen are instructed to hold off putting the flag up until the end of the phase of play to be sure but some of them were so blatant though. Not putting the flag up will result in someone getting injured or even getting sent off for play that should never happen.
  16. Pretty much summed it up right there I think we suffered because Fulham were so shit/negative first half. Probably should have taken it to them more rather than trying to draw them out. Other than that it was a bit of a tired performance but ultimately, job done.
  17. It's crazy the cars you see nowadays. Small 3 bed new builds with cars worth nearly as much as the house on the driveway. I guess leasing nowadays is a big part of it but not always. I feel like you used to see the odd Porsche on your average road and a BMW or Mercedes on the drive looked like you were well off.
  18. Think the Testarossa was the only literal poster car I had, and a toy model of it when I was about a kid in the 80s. There used to be someone in Kings Norton who had one. I used to get my Dad to go a certain way to see if it was there.
  19. There has defintely been a slowing down of sales by me. I'm a a postie on a collection of 3 pretty much completed new build estates. For a little while now it has been the smaller ones that have been up for sale longer but there's some bigger ones too taking longer to sell. There's also been a flurry of houses put up for sale so there is a lot of competition. I think houses are still going for the asking price but not going crazy like they were, and if the seller/estate agent goes a bit greedy and ask too much they are not selling before lowering the asking price.
  20. We bought at the same time, it was a first time buy so would have been excluded from stamp duty anyway but so glad we got in then. We paid £205k and ones in the same road now are going for £250k. Next door moved in before Christmas, they paid the same as us but have to literally do every room and heating system.
  21. I'd certainly be worried if I was a Leeds fan. The 2 big home defeats is bad enough but a bigger red flag is actually the white flag in that they got no yellows last night and the fight doesn't seem to be there. Those in charge proper cocked up over the winter Marsch needed to go earlier or stuck with him. On top of that when they pulled the trigger they had no plan.
  22. I've not been to the The Good Intent but I do like a pint of Troll from Craddocks.
  23. Taking my step daughter on Sunday. It's meant to be her weekend at her Dad's so theres a win there in my battle to get her interested in football. What's the pub situation near Bescott? Trying to work out food options as she is Coeliac so food might be limited in the ground. I guess McDonalds will be the back up.
  24. I'm sure I've moaned about it on VT before but there's something about Carling drinkers that do that. I've worked in different pubs and bars in different bits of the country, some with a great selection of beers and lagers (no Carling). In they come straight to the bar, "a pint of carling please" Guiness drinkers aren't far off but I'll give them a bit of leeway as there's often no alternative. Although they still wouldn't have a second glance if there was a Stout or Porter on.
  25. Was so confident in us not conceding second half, I cashed out a bet on 70mins Not had that confidence/stupidity in a while.
