  1. Weird how you're brain works (that pessimism in you) I've gone from thinking a draw isn't the end of the world today to thinking we need to win to shut that Brentford door.
  2. Not for a while though, as I developed alopecia 3 1/2 years after that. So now just a baldy. Some would say life has thrown me a bad hand
  3. Just to take the limelight off @El Zenand his ginger hair. We were watching Pointless and my daughter said i should go on because I was getting pointless answers. I told her i'd been on a gameshow before (I didn't actually get to speak) Here's a grainy picture of me at No39 in 2001. With what we know about him now I'm disappointed he didn't try it on with me Although I was still probably a bit old even then.
  4. Which reminds me that Spurs took a free kick for offside in our half!
  5. I think this season before the World Cup I was touch and go whether we should cash in as while I rated him highly we could possibly benefit from a sale. I think since the World Cup he's been in pretty hot form and I'm not sure we could replace him with the same or better standard. It would be one amazing purchase If we did. I'm not sure I can name a keeper that wouldn't have a similar premium to Martinez that comes close to him. Martinez himself proves its possible to do but it's hard.
  6. I've got my own opinions on the penalty however I do think it would be given 90% of the time. I would love to see the offside call though. It looked offside but not seen it yet Away from that. Not enought credit is given to our defensive line. It is so easy to get wrong but they do it so well. It's the attackers that get criticised for getting caught out time and time again but it's all down to the defensive organisation. We do need to get it spot on again against Liverpool or we will get caught out. On the same subject, I get that the linesmen are instructed to hold off putting the flag up until the end of the phase of play to be sure but some of them were so blatant though. Not putting the flag up will result in someone getting injured or even getting sent off for play that should never happen.
  7. Pretty much summed it up right there I think we suffered because Fulham were so shit/negative first half. Probably should have taken it to them more rather than trying to draw them out. Other than that it was a bit of a tired performance but ultimately, job done.
  8. It's crazy the cars you see nowadays. Small 3 bed new builds with cars worth nearly as much as the house on the driveway. I guess leasing nowadays is a big part of it but not always. I feel like you used to see the odd Porsche on your average road and a BMW or Mercedes on the drive looked like you were well off.
  9. Think the Testarossa was the only literal poster car I had, and a toy model of it when I was about a kid in the 80s. There used to be someone in Kings Norton who had one. I used to get my Dad to go a certain way to see if it was there.
  10. There has defintely been a slowing down of sales by me. I'm a a postie on a collection of 3 pretty much completed new build estates. For a little while now it has been the smaller ones that have been up for sale longer but there's some bigger ones too taking longer to sell. There's also been a flurry of houses put up for sale so there is a lot of competition. I think houses are still going for the asking price but not going crazy like they were, and if the seller/estate agent goes a bit greedy and ask too much they are not selling before lowering the asking price.
  11. We bought at the same time, it was a first time buy so would have been excluded from stamp duty anyway but so glad we got in then. We paid £205k and ones in the same road now are going for £250k. Next door moved in before Christmas, they paid the same as us but have to literally do every room and heating system.
  12. I'd certainly be worried if I was a Leeds fan. The 2 big home defeats is bad enough but a bigger red flag is actually the white flag in that they got no yellows last night and the fight doesn't seem to be there. Those in charge proper cocked up over the winter Marsch needed to go earlier or stuck with him. On top of that when they pulled the trigger they had no plan.
  13. I've not been to the The Good Intent but I do like a pint of Troll from Craddocks.
  14. Taking my step daughter on Sunday. It's meant to be her weekend at her Dad's so theres a win there in my battle to get her interested in football. What's the pub situation near Bescott? Trying to work out food options as she is Coeliac so food might be limited in the ground. I guess McDonalds will be the back up.
  15. I'm sure I've moaned about it on VT before but there's something about Carling drinkers that do that. I've worked in different pubs and bars in different bits of the country, some with a great selection of beers and lagers (no Carling). In they come straight to the bar, "a pint of carling please" Guiness drinkers aren't far off but I'll give them a bit of leeway as there's often no alternative. Although they still wouldn't have a second glance if there was a Stout or Porter on.
  16. Was so confident in us not conceding second half, I cashed out a bet on 70mins Not had that confidence/stupidity in a while.
  17. I could barely get signal and was before we had Sky so couldn't watch it through that so had to try and tune it the best I could to watch our UEFA cup games with a very snowy picture.
  18. Yeah The Venture in is really good. I worked as a chef for a couple of years at The Crown and Sandys, which is just up the road too.
  19. They were on the adidas site, they were excluded from any voucher codes which there's nearly always some available upto 35% off, so thought I'd hold off. Stingyness didn't pay off though and all gone, for now at least.
  20. I was looking at a pair of Claret and Blue Forum exhibit lows but was being stingy didn't want to pay the full price, they're sold out now.
  21. Took a bit of a gamble and ordered a pair of these. Not normally something I'd go for and a bit if a risk as they're the type of shoe that can just not look right when you put them on but thought for £39 it was worth the gamble.
  22. It wasn't any solid info, just doing what you had done and looking on social media and tipsters that were doing well and looking at what others say about those horses. One particular one and followers had an amazing day. It was just the 3rd and last he didn't have the winner. There were lots of big multiples that came in. No doubt I would have picked a few duds if I went for multiples today and can't complain but I still have the what ifs. I used to know a little about the horses, Saturday afternoons at uni were all about the races and football accumulators. Nowadays I know sod all and try and work something out through others, usually badly.
  23. Was having a fairly uneventful cheltenham. Some winners and places but not combining them well in multiples. Day 1 about £15 up Day 2 about £5 down Day 3 about £25 down Day 4 I'm over a £1.5k up. I wasnt going to bet but heard good things about Faivoir. So stuck £20 on it Then had 30 on Galopin, 5ew on Premier magic and a 20 double with Galopin and Impervious. I also forgot early this morning when I wasn't going to bet I put my last 19p on the Faivoir/Premier magic double. Which I got over £400 back from What a day
  24. Growing up I knew very little of my Dad's side of the family. He died of cancer before I was 1. My Grandad was still a big part of my life but much further than that I didn't know much. I have though got a family bible passed down to me which goes back to my relative that was alive from 1649-1723 so I do actually know the paternal line to there. Which I think is 8th Great grand parents. I don't have a common surname but unfortunately I will probably be the end of my particular line, as I have a daughter so if she has a child it possibly won't have my surname depending on circumstances. I did do a little research on ancestry which was useful. I mentioned on here a while back heir hunters got in touch with me about possible inheritance. I worked out my link to her using the site. That turned to nothing though as a closer relative came forward and a will.
  25. Yeah that's the one
