  1. Mine is year 1 too. She has reading, phonics sounds sheets and then another piece. This week it was counting number blocks, last week was her learning a poem and recording her doing it. Reading we found difficult finding the right time to do when she would make any attempt. Then we accidentally discovered (most of the time) she actually tries & thinks about it before school. There is a lot of dead time in the car, as we drop her sister off near her school first. Reading is a slow and steady process with her but seems to be picking numbers & maths up quicker. The opposite of her older sister.
  2. The Texaco by me that I've posted about before has had one of its crazy spells. Recently it has been lower or the same as the Sainsburys 50m up the road. Currently unleaded is 10p/litre more and diesel is 18p more.
  3. Had our email today to say we are better to move to the standard variable rather than our fix. The unit rate was matched but the standard charge was better on the variable. It makes us about £26 better off.
  4. My Twitter time line is full of the vaccine stuff today frustratingly as none of the tweets I am seeing are from people I follow. It doesn't seem like news at all and is what we all knew that you could still transmit the virus having had the vaccine. The only thing it did highlight is the ridiculous process later on that you could go to a venue with a negative test or be vaccinated. Which again we all knew was ridiculous we knew it was still transmissible. The vaccine still would have reduced greater transmission doing what it was designed to do.
  5. I presume the screenshot is a recent one as its got the October £66 refund on? Smart meter charges are only added every 6 months but can't really explain why there is nothing showing on yours by now.
  6. Not had mine, but our direct debit doesn't go out until the 28th. So not expecting it until next month.
  7. I still think it is because there is a usage charge missing. The £49.51 charge will be possibly be from 13th January to when you had the Smart meter put in and then you are missing any charge since you had the smart meter. Unless I'm looking at it wrong. Is it a prepay smart meter or just a normal one and you're paying by direct debit?
  8. Wasn't sure which thread to put it in but Shaun Ryder has added his 2 pennies worth about the home secretary.
  9. Look like they haven't actually added your usage in the last 180days. So your not actually £500 in credit. Looks like payments were a bit short covering your last bill but no usage since.
  10. May have got the person/time/place wrong but i think @tonyh29 may have said he applied in July and recently got his. So it is about 10 weeks.
  11. My brother is having a stressful time as he works in an estate agent and there are lots of chains falling through. It's typically those at the bottom of the chain that are struggling to get their mortgage. I guess typically they have less equity other than a deposit and less income.
  12. I don't know the exact situation but someone my Mrs works with has about 5 or 6 houses. With mortgages using the other properties. With some of those due for a remortgage. Sounds messy even without the interest rate rises.
  13. While I understand the criteria, it has pissed me off. I don't get to many games now but bought my daughter a membership to try and get her interested (probably a bit cruel), the first game we can both go to Is this one. It's not an issue me getting a ticket but she's never been to a game so has no previous history. I don't see whats the difference with the next criteria for season ticket holders to get another ticket.
  14. I was delivering a parcel last week. There was no answer and had a safe place of the garden. Went through the gate, the French doors were open and out bounded a Bull Mastiff/Dogue de Bordeaux, I didn't stop around for a closer look and test how protective of its house it was. As you say owners. Need to be aware of their dog and its temperament, whether that means always being on a lead or the risk of a stranger coming into the garden and finding its very protective.
  15. Likewise when you are preparing to turn right and the person turning into the road you are on gives you a dirty look as they cut corner!
  16. We went to Cologne for my stag and went to watch Bayer Levekusen. It's not going to be a stag do as such. Think there will most likely just be the 4 of us. It was my mate who has got married who had said he wants to go to Amsterdam. I think it's just we've had several good visits together there for various reasons and wants to go for old times sake. When we've gone we've stayed and spent a lot of time in the Liedseplein area rather than the typical areas.
  17. Rotterdam was definitely In our early thoughts as an easy alternative to Amsterdam. Holland is easy to travel around and short distance so seems like a winner compared with other countries. I do really like Amsterdam and been there several times with varying scales of madness. More recently have tended to avoid the congested touristy (red light) areas anyway.
  18. My mate announced he got married the other day out of the blue. Anyway he wants to go away for a belated stag do next September/October. He said he wants to go to Amsterdam. We've been there several times over the years. Just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions? We'd like to get it booked but the obvious issue is we won't know any fixtures. Holland is quite good as there are lots of teams within a fairly short train ride. So looking for towns/cities that have teams within travelling distance to ensure we can go to a match on the trip. Any suggestions?
  19. I had a bizarre experience with one. I had an issue with a leak and wanted to check if it was from the shower and tiles or a worse situation with pipes. He came round to have a look for free. Had a bit of a conversation with him about refitting the bathroom. A little while after I followed up about the bathroom, he came round to look again for a quote. That was the last I heard from him, never got back to me or replied to my messages. Helped out for nothing then when it came to several grand business he didn't want it or need it.
  20. When I saw the clip yesterday, he definitely looked like it was purposefully done and he was enjoying every minute if it. I walked past there on Saturday with the family. Not when anyone significant was there but a there were some cameras there interviewing, I felt I had to say **** the Torys a few time to my wife just to avoid any embarrassment by association if I ended up being recorded in the background. There weren't many protesters at that point, just near the library so couldn't blend in with them.
  21. Some obvious damage limitation. A U turn is less embarrassing and with less consequences than a chunk of her own party voting against the plan.
  22. Not that we would have scored but why was it only 4 minutes injury time? 5 substitutions (2 of Leeds' were double swaps), a stoppage for a head injury just thats just to start with.
  23. I rarely drive into Birmingham City centre but my mum and dad and tickets to the Peaky Blinder thing at the Hippodrome. With no trains they were having second thoughts about going. I said I'd take them and have a day in town with my little one. No issue until time to go home. It took 2 1/2 hours to get out of Edgbaston Street car park. An hour and a half of that not actually moving at all. Once out of the car park, some roads were a free for all. 2 lanes of traffic in a single lane, cars coming out of junctions down gaps on the wrong side of the road. Not my most enjoyable journey.
  24. I love cooking Sunday Roast. I get to drink Wine and beer while watching football or listening to music. I can drag it out all afternoon without a nag. When it's actually really easy and only occasionally have to do something.
  25. Gerrard has long had links to the Liverpool underworld hasn't he? I vaguely remember stories coming out throughout his career.
