  1. The firing squad thing could work well you’d think, they could get local kids to do the shooting as part of their prep for dealing with an inevitable pending massacre at their school, two birds, one stone, boom.
  2. Was really hoping ‘Boro would have turned up tonight and at least given them a game, Chelsea will be brimming with confidence for Friday now, particularly if they bang in a few more second half.
  3. He looks absolutely shite this evening, let’s be honest about it.
  4. It’s going to be interesting, he’s had essentially a year-plus long hiatus, he may not come back the same player again particularly after living on easy street at City
  5. Something’s up with Trippier I think, no idea what it is but a while back I think Southgate alluded to him not being in the best place mentally and then Howe said something similar and about how he’s ‘pushing through’ (paraphrased) some off-field stuff, this has all coincided with his form nose-diving and now him potentially leaving the country
  6. No it’s not. The vast majority of the situations you reference do not happen around the box and they don’t have the lines drawn / sprayed. If you’re setting up a defensive wall based on where the referee has marked the spot for the ball to be placed, and then both the ball and the mark are moved, that’s not right at all. Yes, players take the piss constantly now, it’s cynical at every step from the placing of the ball on the very edge of the corner quadrant to the constant play acting and rolling around trying to get other players booked and sent off, but this one should not have stood, particularly after he moved the refs mark.
  7. Feel like every time I visit the news these days it just makes my blood boil further. News item on the beeb site now with further accusations against Doug Barrowman (Michelle Money’s partner). So alongside being invited by the Tories to defraud the nation he also for a number of years ran and publicised a business whose sole aim was to help ltd co contractors avoid paying any tax on their earnings. Its the impunity with which these people act that I just can’t get my head around, I feel bad sometimes if I leave a shop knowing I’ve been undercharged for an item, how do people committing industrial fraud even sleep at night (other than on a massive pile of cash).
  8. The latter. Saudi paid what was it, £12M plus whatever they’ve paid out in wages already but are suddenly so amenable to just terminating his contract?! Seems odd.
  9. If Henderson ends up at Newcastle in the next few weeks serious questions need to be asked.
  10. I see the conversation has really moved on in here. Israel are bad but because other people are bad they should be allowed to continue being bad. Okay cool.
  11. Very stop start match, hard to get fluidity but still came down to fine margins and overall we controlled enough of the game and created enough chances to have won comfortably. Thought Watkins actually played very well today up against big lumps kicking through him every time he got the ball. Luiz and McGinn hit and miss, there’s lots to like with Duran but also plenty to frustrate, he needs to realise it’s not theatre and just get on with the game when something doesn’t go his way. Not the worst point in the world and keeps things ticking over, need to follow up with a win in the next game against the barcodes though.
  12. All to play for second half, if Bailey had just taken one step forward we’d have gone 1-0 up, Lenglet nearly cost us though in not holding the line, thankfully we have the world number one in nets. Feel like it’s there to be won if we can get a bit more intensity out of Diaby and Bailey but it’s on a knife edge as we could easily concede and lose.
  13. I’m sure it was gusto who got sent off against us earlier in the season for a very similar challenge on Digne
  14. Usually when a player comes back from a long layoff there’s a period of getting back up to speed and rustiness. Not for De Bruyne, looked like he’d never been away and changed the game.
  15. You can’t really blame them though, we can’t make up our own bloody minds on it seemingly
  16. Warrington Town’s goalkeeper scored a 97th minute equaliser in their National League North match, second time he’s done it this season already!
  17. Does Eddie Howe expect the rest of us to feel sorry for them or something. ’oh poor us, we want to improve and buy every player under the sun but we have to abide by the same rules as everyone else’ Yeah no shit moron, lots of clubs would be out there buying players if it weren’t for FFP, Newcastle aren’t the only team with means. The longer he’s in that job the less I like him.
  18. They’ve had significant injuries and other selection issues for most of the season so far
  19. Perfectly reasonable though given that he’s feigning injury to waste time, clearly
  20. Adidas, finally. As someone who wears a lot of it already just take my money now. Would be even better if it turned out to be Adidas Originals specifically but guess that’s a step too far in the dream.
  21. The overuse of the word ‘moment’ in football now. I’m sure it started with the influx of foreign managers and the broken English they’d speak in during the early stages of their time in the UK (understandably of course) but it’s now used by all and sundry. ’So and so are in a good moment currently’ , ‘we had lots of good moments in the game’ - maybe it’s just me this bothers.
  22. From Wayne Rooney to Tony Mowbray, smacks of a total lack of plan in my view. I’m sure he’ll keep them up because he is at least a semi competent Manager with a lot of experience but I don’t think he’s built a reputation on playing ‘fearless football’ and his teams either seem to blow hot or cold in the main. If there’s any merit in the players actively wanting Rooney out then you’d imagine they probably wanted Eustace back in (not that the ‘brave’ new owners would even contemplate publicly acknowledging that they messed up in sacking him in the first place of course) and will Tony Mowbray satisfy them? Time will tell of course.
  23. Why has it taken a TV show to get the government interested in the Post Office / Horizon scandal?! Its been in the news for a good while but now it’s been turned into a mini drama for TV the government decides to begin acting, absolute shitshow as per.
  24. It wasn’t that long ago Gervais was almost universally lauded as being a comic genius. He hasn’t changed, society has, which ironically enough was kinda the point he was making repeatedly during Supernature.
