  1. Exactly, another dumb decision from people who seem to have no understanding of football. How will they even govern it effectively, will it be based on 10 minutes of actual in play time, if not how will it be remotely fair? I’m not saying it’s all geared up to a conspiracy but they keep giving themselves tools to influence games ‘artificially’ and I just don’t see how it’s remotely a good thing.
  2. Eerily similar to the Newcastle game and worryingly so, hoping this isn’t becoming endemic. Tactically, I don’t really get what we’re aiming to do off the ball in terms of winning it back, it’s a half press at best and easy to play through and around. Individually it was appalling really, just a litany of bad decisions and errors all over the park, impossible to pick a man of the match cos they were all poor but Tielemans got progressively worse and it’s a mystery he stayed on as long as he did, Kamara had a shocking first half, Moreno was poor, as was Carlos, Cash and McGinn. Its obviously hurting us missing all three of our ‘first choice’ centre backs, I’m not feeling too enthusiastic about Sunday tho now. Special mention for being truly baffled with just 4 minutes of injury time, the ball was hardly in play for the last 15 minutes of the 90.
  3. As depressing as it is, it’s not even that bad a performance, it’s just a catalogue of shocking decisions all over the pitch, encapsulated by Kamara’s awful performance losing the ball umpteen times one of which resulted in the first goal. So many simple passes undercooked or over hit, not shooting when we should and not doing the basics well enough in defence. Sort it out Villa!
  4. Would have been a dream debut and capped off an excellent days work all round if he’d buried that chance on Saturday. Looked okay when he came on, has to be said it was against a dispirited and poor team but still, some good early indications that he might go on to become an asset.
  5. Bailey deserves a new contract and has become a major asset for us this season, so it should be a no brainer from our side you’d think. Just got to hope he’s not demanding too much and/or considering not signing an extension here.
  6. He walked off didn’t he, guessing no major damage if so
  7. That’s better, hopefully that’s the end of the dodgy run, tough week coming up though
  8. Big opportunity to close the loop on the iffy / pour run, it started with Sheff United and can end with them, here’s hoping!
  9. I haven’t seen it so it may be entirely justified on this occasion but the red cards are ruining the sport at the moment, way too many nowadays.
  10. Because social media didn’t exist then
  11. All you can hope for is that it puts a rocket up their arses because tonight was largely dreadful. No intensity, no desire to win the ball back, players isolated constantly. Dare I say it but we outplayed both tactically and individually tonight.
  12. The crowd has been flat as a pancake all night, in the home end at least anyway.
  13. Where has our intensity gone? I’m not sure we’ve ever recovered from choking against Sheff United and missing the chance to be top at Christmas. I know we’re missing one or two but this looks to be a team issue at the moment.
  14. He seems like a real hothead, not sure it’s what we need in the squad. Obviously he’s young and allowances have to be made but equally, we can’t afford to have disruptive influences in the squad, if of course he is or can be disruptive (largely conjecture at this point).
  15. I’m not feeling too positive for tonight, with the way we’ve been playing their direct and high octane approach may unsettle us I fear
  16. Mandatory jail sentence for carrying a knife, has to be a starting point, obvious exceptions for non-lethal knives (pen knives) and carpenters carrying tools etc. For anyone else, there’s just no justification for leaving your house with a knife in your pocket, I’ve never once even considered doing so.
  17. Fair play, I’d written England off for this entire series let alone this match. All over them here
  18. If Maidstone pull this off it’s the absolute definition of a smash and grab, it shouldn’t detract from what an amazing achievement it will/would be but my word they’ve had the footballing gods smiling on them thus far.
  19. Really great to see Portman Road full and with 5,000 travelling fans, that’s a huge money spinner for Maidstone, that’s what the FA Cup is about, a single match gate receipt can provide enough to fund a club for an entire year potentially.
  20. On the plus side, we’ll be in the draw for the 5th round
  21. Meh, didn’t really want the replay but given how poor we were, individually and collectively for most of the game I suppose we’ll take it. We only really started to look semi competent once Chelsea tired (after their midweek exertions), we seem to have lost that spark and cohesion, perhaps the result of our worst patch of injuries. Going to need to improve to get through to the next round and for the rest of the season in general if we want to even get close to achieving our aims.
  22. Hopefully Chelsea tire in the second half and we get some more of the possession, largely quite poor though, Lenglet fortunate to have not gifted them a goal, our players often seem isolated when we do get forward. They’ve been wasteful admittedly. All that said we could be leading ourselves so all to play for!
