  1. Leicester were as good as top 4 last 2 seasons. They have shown great consistency and will do well again next year. Anything can happen in 38 games to change the league - a dodgy pen, an unfair decision, an injury, a wonder goal. Margins are really fine, and Leicester were up there with the best. It's really fine margins, Villa finishing 14th is as good as Villa finishing 10th in my opinion. Everton however have been well below the standard of that 15-9th place, and probably deserve to go down based on the performance.
  2. He is already a £30m Premier League midfielder, full of energy, drive, he will only get better. Great move for everyone, I hope he is the backbone of our team for many years.
  3. He is right, I love it when an oil funded team ruins the league by beating everyone 7-0, it's exactly what I want to see each weekend.
  4. I went to an Ipswich town game the other week, and the pre game hospitality was a killer comapred to Villa. Massive open space for fans, kids playing football and games, mascots taking pictures, burgers, chicken, beers, massive screen with highlights on, bars. It was Ipswich so it was a bit "low budget" but I was there with the family and we spent 2 hours before the game and an hour after just enjoying it all. I also remember a man city CL game I went to in 2015 - similar thing but obviously more "polished". I hope we do something similar soon - that's how you get the kids to buy into the club!

    Keinan Davis

I disagree, Albrighton was a very good player at Villa. Davis never was, and while we all want him to be a success we can't be playing him if our ambition is to beat the likes of Leicester or West Ham. If we were a Brighton - sure. Let's have him in the squad. But I feel we need to aim higher.
  6. That's great - could you share any links to check out the videos?
  7. It might also be a good time for Nike to recycle the old '90' brand. I think enough time has passed for it to become 'cool' again and some savvy marketing can be done there.
  8. I wonder why this is the case. Maybe "we" would buy it. But maybe a sterotypical 15 year old Chinese kid who plays FIFA wouldn't, and I guess that's where the money is. I can't see any other reason. @NurembergVillan why dont adidas want to hit the bullseye when it's so obvious?
  9. This is gonna be a much different game, go on Atletico
  10. I wouldn't want a west ham kit
  11. I'd guess there must be a line of politicians wanting to visit Kiev now that Russia pulled out of there. Regardless of whether it's cynical or not, it's a PR masterpiece.
  12. We don't need to get rid of Gerrard. We need a top defensive coach and a better striker. Attacking wise, we are excellent. JJ and Coutinho are really running the show, we will break through any defence and we can create really good chances. In my opinion, Gerrard's input is clear to see, I like the style, it's free flowing beautiful football, but the defence needs to be more solid. 2/3 more signings, a good defensive coach, and I would not be surprised if next year we have a season like Wolves/Man U and I'd be happy with that.
  13. The thing is the teams that end up in European places in England do so while they are mismanaged. Look at Man United or Spurs over the last few years. They get Europa League football, while they should have been playing CL with the billions they spent. They are underachieving. They are not well run. While the teams that get Europa League places in Spain or Italy often get that place on merit of being excellent despite much lower budgets. So it's not surprising the Davids beat Goliaths of english football. They are often better drilled and more organised.
  14. It seems to me that in some eyes Villa dies regularly every few weeks.
  15. Ukraine reported they want a nuclear force country to be guarantors of any peace deal with Russia. Maybe Boris wants to get in on the action.
  16. 20 mins in I said I've watched better league 1 football. It's really poor, but it's a fitting goal. What we need now is a Ronaldo hattrick resulting in a new 2 year bumper deal at 450k a year and everything will be ok again.
  17. I always thought NATO was a military allience to defend its territory. Should it really do a full USA and undertake regime changes?
  18. That's where I'm at. I don't like to fundamentally change the game if there isn't an obvious reason to do so.
  19. You might be right, but I just feel we are looking to re-invent the wheel. I think it would totally change the feel of the game. Imagine one team is losing in the final minutes of a big game, and everyone rushes to take a throw in, to take a free kick. That 'pressure' is an important element of the game we enjoy - clock is ticking, we need to make a move. I really hope we stay with the current set up of 90mins, and added time where the referee actually accounts for additional breaks in play.
  20. I'd like to see a Tottenham style full supporter stand, with corporate facilities in the corner. I don't know if sticking the corporate in the corner is feasible, but I assume it can be done well.
  21. Let me be clear. Are you for time stopping for the duration of the game or just extra time?
  22. No, it should not! No stopping the clock bollocks. There is a reason there is a MINIMUM of (let's say) 4 minutes added time, 4 minutes should be played and additional time added for time wasting. So 4 minutes could become 6 or 7 if players are taking the piss with 30 second throw ins. Why do most refs not adhere to the MINIMUM added time rule? Players should also be punished for time wasting. A few yellow cards and the problem will miraculously fix itself.
