I think he makes us a slightly more attractive side to play for. So not only does he improve our defence and is a known name, when you look at our first team we don't look to shabby which hopefully means we can attract more players to villa park.

How are we quids in? We have got back less than paid plus we have paid his wages the last few yrs... Wish him well, was never good enough and was never going to be, but that's not his fault. At least he gave his all when on the pitch If we sign 10 players on the cheap and one or two work out then we would be in profit. Ideally like a Gareth Barry.

As in managers signing their old flames who did well for them at a previous clubs and thinking they can do the same again.

MON signing Heskey and Lambert signing Holt are quite similar scenarios. Both must have glasses with rose tints in.

Our turnover is like 9th in the premier league so I would expect a good owner and manager to get us back into the top 10. Then you would hope finding ways to increase our turnover so we can compete in the top 6. Is it even possible to cheat like Man City / Chelsea and buy success in 1 or 2 years nowadays? I think the Everton route is our most realistic option even though that seems a distant goal to achieve.

If we signed any striker who could of a scored a few goals we would of got 4th. Pretty much anyone BUT Heskey.

When I was a kid and if we'd lost 3-0 to spurs I would of been absolutely gutted and shell-shocked. Nowadays I'm just resigned to losing and being glad its not more than 3 so we don't make the main headlines for being so shit. I just feel embarrassed every time I watch them play with the constant hoofing from our defenders and lack of control and ideas from our midfield. All I want is the team to attempt to play football in a decent way but clearly Lambert isn't the man to do that.

Theres no way hes getting in the Chelsea lineup even if Cole leaves. Would be a good buy but for a reasonable fee and wage.

Makes the Holt signing even more of a mystery if Bowery can put in these kind of performances. Though my concern is how many goals can he chip in with, or is it enough to just feed Weimann.

Now hes talking about signing players like Holtby, Hernandez and Lescott? Suggesting he only plays the current brand of football due to lack of funds. Is this guy serious??

Whilst him and gabby have been poor our style doesn't work well with them. They are hardly going to be competitive with hoof balls and crosses all day long. Start getting the defence and midfield to play football on the ground more and you would see a better return from Weimann and gabby.

Push for the equaliser? I don't think vorm had a shot to save. So that means we weren't pushing for an equaliser? Watch the third goal again! We were short at the back cus our players had pushed up the pitch trying to catch Swansea on the break when we cleared the corner. Short at the back? we had 7 players in and around the area. It was simply poor defending. Enough of the excuses! Ok then we weren't pushing for an equaliser and had left ourselves short at the back? ........ Short at the back is one thing but poor defending is another. I mean look at Lowtons positioning.

Always wondered this but can only think they thought it would be easier to sell the big earners if they were more desperate to move from villa and take a cut in wages. Of course it didn't really work since they just sat in the reserves/youth team and collected their wages.
