  1. I hope he was driven out with pitchforks and fire. All jokes aside, the guy I'm talking about is incredibly kind and it will be fascinating to see what happens over the next few years to party figures unwilling to discard their principles.
  2. I'm amazed by the amount of goodwill Luiz seems to have compared to other players. I think most of us agree there is something there and he appears to have the talent to become a good player. In my eyes Luiz is nowhere near ready to start until he becomes much less casual. The amount of times he tries a silly little flick off a situation like receiving a throw in and gives the ball straight to the opposition drives me mad. There is no doubt in my mind this decision making will have been looked at in training and video sessions, but ultimately it will come down to him in that moment whether he decides to take to 10 yard pass or try to flick the ball off the back of his heel and over 3 opposition players.
  3. The point is if we keep giving away cheap goals as we have been then they aren't good performances regardless of the rest of the game.
  4. I'd say more, but his daughter is a good friend and no one deserves to be outed publicly as having a dickhead dad!
  5. Presumably you voted for Corbyn as the only anti-war candidate in the previous election? Tony Blair was a bit of a sleezeball and I'm not conflating him with some saintly figure. I specifically pointed out May and Cameron as they aren't particularly honest either, but there are clearly le vels. I know the point you're trying to make. I'm trying to explain why I think they're extremely different in severity and frequency. To me saying both are garbage while the party in power is doing all sorts of shady shit is just lazy. It's also a bit like Trumps "both sides had good people" Charlottesville bs.
  6. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the point being made is that if you keep performing well results will come which is absolutely correct,
  7. If you think the other parties display the same contempt as this lot for the free press, public and rule of law you need to pay more attention. I know quite a few Conservative party members who have quit (including one who used to be a council leader) in the months since Boris got elected as there is absolutely no moral standard at all. Theresa May was an absolute knob and did serious damage in her ministerial posts. Cameron was an utter tosspot hiding behind 'necessary' austerity tearing apart the Civil Service to prime it for even more roles to be carried out by Capita in the future. There's still not a chance in hell either of them would have treated the public with this much disdain.
  8. How though. They must all be on Twitter and considering I get all my Twitter second hand and still knew about it two days ago it seems very unlikely.
  9. Only reason I'm still watching, but looking more and more like it's a waste of time.
  10. Unfortunately that is unlikely to change as you're either willing to gaslight or not.
  11. I've seen pictures of about 10 players on the Villa twitter, so I'm hoping it's just that photographers have been at training sessions for 2/3 groups of 4/5. McGinn also seems less active on social media than the average footballer so it's not surprising he hasn't posted any himself even if he is back.
  12. I'd be a blessed man to have your foresight. The patronising arrogance I can live without.
  13. I'm not sure to be honest. There must be an agreed framework for club movement between the leagues, however with rules changing anyway I guess clubs could vote to change whatever they want. Someone mentioned the other day that the EFL clauses on promotion/relegation specifically mentioned something like promotion and relegation can only be confirmed when the last scheduled games of the season have been played. As they'll be ripping up the rulebook anyway it will be whatever the majority wants to end the season. The EFL is really difficult to second guess though as having several leagues (with a wide variance of finances) means it's slightly harder to group motives.
  14. What a lot of people don't seem to understand though is the EFL's word is nowhere near final as it's ultimately the clubs that will vote and decide on whatever they want.
  15. You might want to give the other 100 words in the post a try.
  16. I really like the show, but know exactly what you mean. I would only really watch it if I see an interesting topic and I’d be unlikely to laugh at more than a couple of things in an episode. I also just googled it and saw an article by a nuclear scientist saying the segment is misleading because they know exactly what to do with nuclear waste, it’s just red tape that prevents it.
  17. If you've not seen it before, the below is absolutely shocking.
  18. If you're asking whether any of us have seen his employment contract I'd say it's likely to be a no. I can't see any other way to 'prove' the negative. More pertinently, what evidence has there ever been that he does have a relegation clause? Before we were promoted they had talked about him signing a new contract with a release clause if we didn't get promoted and since then we've been told there are no such clauses in contracts. I don't understand why when someone makes shit up people jump on it, take it as gospel and then put the onus on others to prove otherwise.
  19. That's the bit that really bothered me. I guess @Tomaszk was right all along and his mentality is dreadful.
  20. Sorry, I’d misunderstood; I see what you were getting at now. You’re right, the uncertainty makes it nigh on impossible for clubs and players to make any plans at all.
  21. I probably should have clicked forward a page before replying. They definitely seem to be making moves, I just wasn’t sure how they were viewed as I’ve not done any research on the players they signed.
  22. I expect her to be good at her job as she is a big name in women’s football and no doubt has pull, but out of interest what has been done so far that makes you say she’s good at her job?
  23. Unless they change the rules clubs can sign players, they just won’t be able to register them to play.
