  1. Has anyone seen what Anonymous have posted? People are saying they've exposed Trump allegedly murdering Epstein and I'm not sure exactly what they're basing it on. I've seen the court transcripts talking about Trump and Epstein that are pretty sickening but I'm sure this has gone around before. It's interesting they say they'll expose the names and details of any violent police. I'm waiting to see if they expose the guy the other day suspected of being an undercover cop smashing windows. They've already hacked police radios, so with them involved in this fight there could be some incredibly damaging stuff released. It's great to have people like that trying to hold the police to account I just worry this is all going to escalate even more.
  2. I live in London and hate it. If I had a footballers salary I’d probably love it here. The Catch 22 is I wouldn’t be able to enjoy myself that much if I was a sportsman. Basically I agree and wouldn’t want to live in London as a player, but would love it when retired with a lot of cash.
  3. Actually you did. You made a comment insinuating it had become a bit like a Little Britain sketch that was a pisstake of farcical excuses. You did also comment on Cummings when posting the video. Also, I think you've made your thoughts on unelected bureaucrats quite clear over the past few years. Complain about the echo chamber all you want, I don't go in Facebook groups to complain that most people there don't agree with my political views. If I were to transparently attempt to wind people up I wouldn't be at all surprised if someone were to defend their views.
  4. He's a type 1 diabetic with a chocolate addiction. I'm happy to wait for nature to do its work.
  5. This applies to both of them. They are way too casual in possession for my liking and when it's costing us goals in a relegation battle potential is just a nice thought. I don't think Luiz is any more guilty of it than our other midfielders, it just winds me up after I match when I see people praising a flick ignoring that he did 4 others, with plenty of time and space, and gave the ball straight to the opposition. I'm not sure I've seen Nakamba get bigged up more. When someone speaks in support of him it's normally because he is the only midfielder we have seen as a more traditional DM so it's arguing more for a role than him specifically. It's not surprising Luiz gets criticised more, he's played in 3 times as many league games and this place is rarely more active than when we've just been battered!
  6. No promises about the quality of my baking, but I assure you he's positively deranged when it comes to food.
  7. Hahaha I’ll be disappointed ethically if it goes through, but in a football sense it doesn’t bother me that much as Newcastle would attract decent owners whoever bought them. That said I would take some spiteful enjoyment out of it collapsing.
  8. Motorsport Manager with the Fire 20 mod to add more balance and real drivers/teams/competitions. I only downloaded it last week and I’m finding the simplicity quite nice compared to starting a game on FM. Anyone else tried it?
  9. My old housemate was the same and it made me want to punch him too. His type 1 diabetes would have been a reasonable excuse if he swore off chocolate all together. He used to eat at least one of the £1 corner shop bars of chocolate every day but the time I made chocolate fondants he "didn't fancy it". This is a man who also doesn't like sauces (not out of a plastic bottle) and would have ketchup instead of homemade gravy with a roast instead. I really need to delete his number.
  10. I have no doubt he'd have kept them on, but I think choices were pretty limited by that point once you cross out ones who have already refused to work with him, resigned or publicy called him an antisemite! I can't remember at all what his shadow cabinet looked like when he first became party leader apart from McDonnell and Abbot.
  11. Be careful not to rewrite history. Don't forget he picked a lot of the sort of people you're talking about for shadow cabinets and they kept resigning or refused positions. You can definitely argue he didn't do enough to work with them other than giving them positions. There's plenty to go at him on without making stuff up.
  12. I know it has nothing to do with Europe. My point is the number of votes he got isn't evidence of anything apart from him being a poor campaigner and not politically savvy. It's a complete strawman. Speaking for myself, I supported him throughout his time as leader as he was always the better alternative and I didn't think it was constructive to batter the man for every tiny thing while excusing the actual party in power as it's what we expect from them. I definitely also got caught up in the siege mentality because of the amount of absolute bollocks being written about him. Also how much people were willing to excuse the government with pure selfish motives as they wore better suits.
  13. I completely get what you're saying and 9 times out of 10 I'd agree. Where I think we'd differ, is I'd argue the Nottingham Forest game last year was a good example of playing well and not getting the result. They had 5 targets on shot and scored all 5 and I don't remember us being bad defensively.
  14. Interestingly that's another thing I've noticed in the last few years. This simply doesn't seem to be the case any more. Not in developed countries at least and I'm not sure people from war torn nations wanting to come here is that much to gloat about. Of course I don't. I was specifically answering the question "have things really got that bad in the UK?" with my experiences of the last few years. It might not be a particularly admirable stance to take, but I also feel if I moved to another country I'd just worry about myself and get on with it. It's more difficult here as I know so many people with first hand experience of being **** over and I obviously have a much more in depth understanding of what has gone on.
  15. @TRO for clarity that was by no means me saying we have been playing well. I completely agree with the principle, but it is irrelevant to us as we've not been good enough.
  16. I understand that, I'm simply pointing out it's a silly argument to say 'well Pep said'. Pep also said Foden was 'the most talented players [he''s] ever seen'. Let's be honest, no one buys that. If they thought Luiz would be a world beater within 2 years they'd just loan him out for another season or two at which point they'd be able to get a work permit no problem. I agree with your last line and I am optimistic about where he'll end up.
  17. It didn’t stop Guardiola selling him to us.
  18. So staying in Europe would have been way worse for the economy as more people voted to leave?
  19. See, this is interesting to me. Why do you believe that? Is it it just because the general picture painted of him is one of incompetence? Is there something in his well publicised views that makes you think this? I'm absolutely baffled by people chucking stuff like this out like we haven't dealt with this worse than all but probably 1/2 other countries. I believe the decision to delay any lockdown etc was a political one (protect business), so why on earth would Corbyn have made the same decision rather than locking down earlier? And if he did lockdown earlier how on earth could it conceivably be worse?
  20. This as well. I'm comfortable myself and the party in power has little impact to me, but that makes me find it even more egregious when someone sneers at me for daring to be stupid enough to vote with empathy.
  21. No I haven't because I believe Smith will have spoken to him about this after games and been trying to drill in 'keep it simple' and I don't believe there is too much more he can do. You don't necessarily believe this is the case and that's fine. The lack of urgency in defence we completely agree and it drives me absolutely mad every game.
  22. I've seriously considered leaving. The only thing that has stopped me is the guilt of leaving behind family members in care homes etc (although I might not have to worry about that much longer). I also don't think I'd ever bother coming back if I left. Maybe it's just my experience, but I have seen some shocking stuff over the last 5 years that I'd never run into before including, but not limited to: an enormous increase in homelessness and food bank usage. a group of skinheads chasing an Asian man through the streets of London shouting they're going to kill him. In the **** City (shiny tall bit) of all places. countless people being shouted at to 'go home' in public. a clumsy, yet peaceful political leader being cast as the 2nd coming of Hitler while we laugh off the anti-semitism, homophobia, racism and misogyny of our current PM and his cronies. the fact our version of 'taking back control' from unelected bureaucrats is shaping up to be the most damaging economic exit possible...led by an unelected bureaucrat with complete disdain for anyone and anything else. constant gaslighting by ministers. At least politicians had the decency to try and avoid a question in the past. the fact this sort of shite still seems to be escalating. Edit - I missed a big one for me; a trend towards anti-intellectualism. Perhaps I was just too young before to realise what was going on, but to me it certainly feels like things have changed.
  23. Agree with both of these points. A signing like Moutinho for Wolves could potentially have been completely transformative imo.
  24. I can't speak for other countries, but in America for example they did actually have a lot of recent pandemic preparations in place through the CDC...but Trump decided to dismantle it all as his ego couldn't handle it being done on Obama's watch. In this instance they were unprepared, but through their own doing. I ripped up the protections is not a defence. In this country I keep reading about how we were ranked one of the top countries for pandemic preparation before this kicked off. Yet we've still **** it. This suggests an issue with management moreso than preparation. This is also not a defence. Bear in mind, Dominic Cummings (falsely) claimed on national television to have warned about the threat of a coronavirus early last year. If we was so prescient, then how on earth can he be excused for policies ignoring it? It would also be concerning (if true) that a man with longer to think about this than any other government figure in the world had **** up the response so badly. I don't know how much of this type of stuff you've read (VT certainly helps me with this), but there have been enormous amounts written about the risks of global pandemics in the last few years so it really isn't a surprise.
