  1. very quiet, didn't see much of the ball and when he did, he didn't do anything noteworthy with it,
  2. Does Hutton Qualify for this, most people think he's utter shit, But I don't think he's anywhere near that good
  3. fixed (damn should have read all the thread first)
  4. Guess it's the 2nd option for me for me a 7-8, days are long at 12 hours, but then I'm on four on four off shift, get decent benefits, work with a decent bunch of guys who know the job and who work together well and we do get to enjoy a laugh. atmosphere is pretty relaxed and we're pretty much left to work unmolested by management interference and under our own initiative, yeah we have a useless process technician with a tendency for bullshit and the opposite shift tend to be a lazy bunch whose work can pretty sloppy, which means the only work related downside is the hassle of dealing with the aftermath of their work when we first come on shift. the annoying situation with the process tech is balanced out by the many opportunities it presents to royally take the piss out of him. the only other real downside is the 110 mile journey down and back either end of the shift and living away from home 4 days at a time.
  5. £100 p/m for me. Tracker mortgage FTW then you'll spit feathers when i tell you my mortgage payment is £4.63 p/m
  6. watched Perfect Host last night, pretty enjoyable film
  7. Looking forward to that one, as it's one of my favourite books. Exactly my feelings too, by the sound of things this is a pretty good take on the book
  8. Hmm so I wonder if those celebrations at pension rises no longer being linked to inflation were a bit premature?
  9. both are actually bad news headlines despite one being portrayed as the opposite, unless of course they would be referring to a rise in the building of property.
  10. Just as the Tories took away Sutton Coldfields Independence as a town and made most of it it part of Birmingham with a few bits given over to Walsall, obviously for the inclusion of a majority of Tory councllors in Labour controlled Areas
  11. the strange thing about house prices is when they rise, people feel wealthier when in fact they generally are not, when they slump or stagnate people feel poorer when in fact generally they are not, I guess were not helped by putting our faith in an economy that was part driven by ever increasing house prices and the continued obsession with getting them moving upward again. I wish we could get back to just seeing houses as a homes, somewhere to live not a commodity just to make an easy and quick buck out of.
  12. Deal had been done by then If he agreed to give the disc, the agreed deal had changed (Perhaps not binding, but still) ah but if all the finances of the deal including the trade in price had been worked out prior to this, and he had to ask how much tax was left on the car, how can he now claim his trade in price included the value of the tax disk?
  13. Though would it be spent, saved or used to reduce household debt? That would be the proviso - you have to spend it. The Australian Government did something similar a few years back, a payout to each taxpayer, from what I could tell, I think most of it was spent on imported TV's Pc's etc, caused a little price spike at the time followed by price reductions as demand slumped again after all the stimulus money was spent, iirc,
  14. I'd take the view that if he had to ask how much tax was left on the car, then he didn't know and couldn't have factored in any value for the tax in any part ex price, Hence the price was just for the car, sounds very much like an afterthought by him to me, something he forgot about during negotiations and tried to recover, you should have dealt with this at the time to be fair, but I'd be in the 'tell him to drop it politely camp' unless he has something in writing and signed to say the tax disc was included in your trade of course. The few times I have traded a car in if the tax disc was part of the trade in then I was asked about it before a deal was struck. Usually it's been mine to keep and refund.
  15. Retirement? If you have any money behind you emigrate if i ever left my current job id grab a working visa down in oz or nz This isn't a bad idea, well if you have the relavent skills and qualifications that are currently in demand I'd definately recommend it, though with the current exchange rate it's not quite as easy to set yourself up in a new life as it used to be, i know I benefitted from going to Australia when the pound was worth 2.4 dollars, came back when it was 1.6, so the money i made actually paid for both relocations all my visa fees airfares etc and i had a little bit left. I look at it as having 2 1/2 years working holiday that cost me nothing. On the original post, It is always easier to get a job while currently employed, no matter how you dress it up, being Unemployed carries a certain stigma, even if it isn't consciously perceived it is still there and especially where you have become unemployed of your own accord. Stick in there, take the money but put some serious effort into finding another job, There really isn't any point staying in a job that makes you unhappy longer than you need or have to.
  16. Really enjoy bowing but only for fun, haven't bowled in about 3 years, used to always score around the 130 in an average game but I have scored over 220 twice, 224 and 241, when we used to bowl as a family the kids used to make me bowl left handed to even things up a little but i've still bowled a score over 120 left handed. The day I bowled 241 was as part of a christmas party, a guy in the next lane was Ten pin bowling for the first time and scored 214, but he was a very very good at crown green bowls. might break that absence with a game over the next week or two thinking about it.
  17. Never. They are deluded inbred fucktards. Fucktards love the use of the word Fucktard, not nearly used enough, It's the creation when a **** and retard are allowed to breed!!!
  18. well a whitewash completed by England with another innings win, 7 wickets for 21 runs to win with a session to spare, impressive even if it was achieved against a poorly performing Indian side that only showed glimpses of a team that came in to the series in the No 1 spot.
  19. Screamin' Jay Hawkins - Whistling Past the Graveyard
  20. from the above piece "Iceland’s government seems to have become decoupled from what is good for voters and for the very survival of Iceland’s economy" You can substitute any number of countries here for Iceland, and if you used Britain, you could say this would be true for a period of about 30 years. The biggest problem in politics is that governments regularly follow policy that with a little smoke and mirrors appears great, appears to create wealth and improvements in lifestyle, to be for the greater good, but in reality has a real negative effect on the real standard of living and lifestyle for it's countries citizens, usually in the longer term, but them maybe that's part of the reason for this situation, Government, like so much 'management' nowadays seems about short term perceptions rather than the long term reality. Things won't improve till Governments begin to remember who they work for and what there job description actually should be.
  21. hey don't be too harsh, he did use the wonderful new word "Muslamic"
  22. Not sure the reason for this question, or it's relevance but in the interest of not leaving the question unanswered I think they have achieved it only once in the the 1967-68 season. Without looking, what about 02/03? They finished above us in the league and we exited the FA Cup in the 3rd round. As Voinjama pointed out we did better in the League Cup and Blues also went out to Fulham in the 3rd round of the F.A. cup

  24. There is no convention in this thread as to which comes first, the artist or the title. And this is an example where I cannot tell which is which. just for clarity, Muscle relaxants is the song title
