  1. Absolutely - we started sImilar in 87/88 and the same things were said - the confidence of a couple of successive wins key a big difference - results will come and we will get better and better .
  2. Confidence is huge in strikers - they thrive on goals and rudi will play a big part in ouR season - delighted to see him do well
  3. Fair enough if we played shit but we just played one of our best games in a long time and created 26 efforts at goal .
  4. Maybe but let the manager manage the team - criticism from the owner doesn't help anyone - we have seen a quality villa display today and need to stick together .- results will come.
  5. I like xia but comments like this should be made privately - it does RDM no favours and only adds to the pressure . we played very very well today and deserved much more .
  6. Seemed to be a kick near the throat and I think he was sick - hopefully he will be back on weds.
  7. Not sure about starting but I'd certainly have him on the bench ahead of bunn
  8. Happy enough with his performance but my concern is he is only one booking from a suspension already and we are only 6 games into the season - same goes for ayew . We have given a lot of silly bookings away this season and today was the same - need to improve our discipline .
  9. He looked a lot better on the ball than gestede to me and has pace to his game too as well , good to have varied options and with the likes of gestede, ayew, grealish, McCormack and kodija we have a potent threat going forward . Not sure how many times we've hit the woodwork this season but they will start going in - we still have adomah to come too so plenty quality there. i feel kodija will prove good value for money come the end of the season .
  10. They will come - it was always going to take time to gel but today we created many chances and have now got a decent strike force who will only improve the more they play together .
  11. Plenty of positives to take from today - Westwood and gardener combined are not good enough in midfield - we will be much stronger with jedinak and tish In midfield hopefully on Wednesday - attacking wise we have options and exciting ones at that - goals and wins will come as will confidence - I've seen nothing in this division to worry about and feel very confident good times are ahead this season
  12. Agree with this - seen nothing to convince me he will make it at 1st team level for villa - had great potential but not been the same since bad injuries - squad player at best .
  13. I'd rather steer be on the bench than bunn - does nothing to Instill any confidence and at his age that's a huge concern .
  14. have been crItical of ayew recently but today I thought he was outstanding
  15. Hugely impressed today - 26 efforts at goal - many positives and kodija looks class - our luck will change and we will fly up the table - this team will get better and better - Gardner piss poor again and when we get jedinak and tish in for Gardner and Westwood we will be far better in midfield . Results will come and no doubt we will go up this season in my view . Thought RDM should have brought jedinak on at 2-1 to close out the game .
  16. If kodija carries on like that he will prove a bargain and play a big part in getting us back to the premiership- regardless of the result today there are many positives and this team will thrive as the season develops . Bristol city think they've fleeced us - come the end of the season we could be the ones laughing .
  17. Haven't seen any mention on the official site regarding Tony mcandrew and Ben petty also leaving - Tony in particular has been here a long time and surely deserves a mention on the website to thank him and wish him well .
  18. Maybe Steve round wanted things done differently and gave the staff the option of doing it his way - much better to retire or resign than be sacked ? Either way the decision is made and we need to see who comes in which I would expect to happen quickly as we have lost 3 members of staff
  19. Odd that he chose to retire on the same day Tony mcandrew and Ben petty leave the club and only a month into a new season - would have thought he would have gone in the summer if he was that keen on stepping down
  20. Gary Gardner - 'Sad to see Sid Tony and Ben petty leave would like to thank you all for helping me to progress to where I am now '#avfc
  21. Would appear odd if all 3 decided to leave a month into a new season - maybe Steve round wants things done differently - Tony mcandrew has also been a great servant down the years and I wish him and Ben petty well too.
  22. Interesting to see who Steve round brings in as tony mcandrew and Ben petty appear to have gone too
  23. I like the kodija signing as he gives us options whereas gestede needs service - I'm hoping kodija will be more involved in the game and add a new dimension to our attack
