I was hopeful after the forest game and we had been unlucky in many ways but the last 2 games have been dire and we are lucky to have drawn both - dreadful performances.
-
Doesn't really inspire me - maybe Xia will want a big name that goes down well with the Chinese support he hopes to grow - no idea who but I feel rdm has 3 games until the international break to save his job .
-
Probably see how we do In the 3 games until the international break - Newcastle and Barnsley are tough but failure to win either and beat Preston would surely mean one win in 11 is reason enough to pull the trigger - Steve Bruce seems the name being touted by many , if we do fire rdm then a new manager needs to be ready to come straight in . i imagine Steve round will have a huge input into any potential new manager .
-
I was fully behind him until last night but was deeply concerned by the performance of the team and the tactics and system last night - it opened my eyes somewhat as I had been giving him the benefit of us being unlucky in several games - last night we sat off Brentford and were hanging on in the 2nd half - this is Aston Villa - rdm was far too cagey and the whole evening was like a nail biter at the cinema where you just knew how it would end .
-
Steve Bruce lurking .
-
Rdm was far too negative in his tactics - he is regularly getting outdone at half time by opposition managers and the tactics seemed to be to try and hold onto a one nil lead - this is not good enough and defeat to Ipswich and Newcastle will see many turn on rdm in my opinion - he has the tools and players he wanted - now go out and make it happen . Already hearing Steve Bruce being mentioned and the pressure will grow on rdm until results come
-
Westwood showed some promise in his first season here - he has never improved since though and is probably worse now .
-
Would love that team to be Newcastle that we hammer
-
I believe top 2 - have been ridiculed at work for it but still feel very confident . last time we were promoted I think we won one in the first 7 too after a huge turnover of players - it does take time but yesterday's performance was extremely high quality for a side with so many new players and we will only improve .
-
Totally agree with you , I've seen nothing to be frightened of in this league and I include Newcastle in that - we have every chance to get out of this division and the players to do it - we need to start getting the results and the confidence will be huge - no reason it cannot be a steamroller effect and we could go on a long unbeaten run .
-
Both Steve Clarke and Kevin bond were defenders so I'd expect them to tighten things up at the back in training - we only conceded 2 goals in or first 4 games and looked fairly solid but the last 2 games have been disappointing defensively
-
Was very true back then but thongs ain't what they used to be
-
This is true and Westwood is no better as a player now than when he arrived - I wonder if they regret loaning out 3 midfielders now - none are any great loss but all better options than Gardner . i expected maybe another midfielder in on loan to give us more depth in that area as tish is not renowned for his fitness and was always a possible injury risk . Dr xia has provided the funding and we've bought well - I think we have failed though in the loan market where we could have got a couple more in
-
Time for Brian little and Keith wyness to lend some gentle advice to mr xia - if he wishes to criticise on football matters it should be done privately - at the moment he is very open and honest in his comments - maybe too much so - I appreciated the updates in the window but now let RDM get on with the job on the football side - if we were playing shit and being dominated I'd be worried but it's very much a work in progress and we need to stick together
-
No hate for Westwood from me but I think he's too lightweight and negative - at least nrc has a bit of strength in there
-
Steer should be the back up option - he's had plenty experience in this division and bunn is a liability
-
Play as they are but improve the finishing and cut out the silly errors - there are many things I'm happy with so far in our team - we are very close to being a very good side
-
I'd take nige back as a free agent - can't be worse than Gardner and Westwood and could be a steady hand iN miDfield if needed
-
Totally agree , was always going to be tough at first with a new team but they will get better as the season goes on - far too soon to write us off .

The RJW63 Official Jack Grealish Appreciation Thread
Eastie replied to kevangrealish's topic in Other Football
I'd expect the only outfield changes to be jedinak and tish for Westwood and Gardner - McCormack and grealish both did enough to keep their place . -
There have been so many silly bookings for dissent , throwing ball away etc - the 2nd forest goal was the time for a legitimate booking and someone should have took one for the team and brought him down rather than allowing him to in through unchallenged.
-
I wouldn't want to go with 4 of those 5 to be honest mate - Gardner and Westwood are too lightweight and bacuna is better wide - I think we will rely on output attack to score more goals to win games - they are getting the chances . Had either jedinak or tish started yesterday I think we would have won - Westwood and Gardner together are dreadful - I like the football we are playing - just need to sharpen up with the finishing and cut out the silly mistakes .
-
I think this is a fair assessment - really we have played well in patches in all games this season and yesterday we dominated totally - we have hit the woodwork countless times missing chances galore - those chances will start going in soon and someone will get a real hammering - would love it be against Newcastle
-
No need to panic and we do not have to win 8 out of 10 - last season Barnsley were 24th and very bottom at Xmas and ended up promoted - palace went from the relegation zone at Xmas to promotion recently too - there are 46 games and plenty of time to get up there - obviously we need to finish teams off but the signs are good that we will get better as the season goes on
-
Agreed , we can just about get by with one or the other in the team but both together they are too lightweight and not good enough against most opposition.
