  1. Sky Sports said we had agreed a deal with Spurs for Kevin Prince two years ago. They might be more accurate but it's still shite. (I think they may have got confused with the Routledge signing. I quite like the thought of KPB being here now!)
  2. Mark Van Rammel (Bommel) is the card that I keep getting. I remember having an ocean of Stuart Ripleys when I last collected stickers... Obviously it's Rammel's turn this time.
  3. Focus on the positive direction is needed I think. 1) The defence, which has looked a little shaky of late, is being roundly applauded by everyone who watched or listened to the game. 2) Gabby has started scoring frequently again and looks a lot more composed and complete every game that passes. 3) Warnock and Downing looked more confident than some of the wayward performances recently 4) We're winning games when it matters - those accusing us of having no bottle in the past take note. All these are signs of going the right way. Be optimistic about things! And for the Petrov naysayers...Actually watch him, just him, in the next game. He will hardly ever give the ball away, he touch is absolutely immaculate, he is able to create space with ease and can win a free kick in order to relieve pressure if needed. He is a quality, composed player. Admittedly he does tire and should get switched, but he puts a great shift in mopping up and tackling.
  4. No Rooney or Messi, the illusive little bastards. Ive got 000 and 00 though. (surely they could be named 1 and 2) and they've been going for about a fiver each on bay.
  5. I've bought about 20 packs so far and I've only got Michael Essien and the Serbia shiny as swaps....I think the sticker gods are smiling on me!
  6. IMO that's a good win. After a 7-1 drubbing, to keep a clean sheet and win the game is a great response...no matter how we played. We've had a few draws up at Bolton in the last few years so we've bucked that trend and hopefully we're back on track.
  7. Why are people saying we were lucky or didn't deserve a point today?! If anything we DID deserve a point because we defended so well for the whole game. My goat is well and truly got with statements like that.
  8. Brad - 9 Cuellar - 8 Dunne - 9 Collins - 8 L.Young - 7 A.Young - 6 Milner - 6 Petrov - 6 Downing - 6 Agbonlahor - 7 Carew - 5 People will say we were lucky to get a draw. In my opinion, no luck whatsoever. If a team can defend like we do then they will always have a chance of a point, no matter how much pressure is put on them. We didn't play well, but that is what is glorious about the team we have. We can go away from home, to (let's face it) a very good team who have won 13 out of the last 16 at home and keep a clean sheet even when playing badly. It always gives us a chance to get points. I don't think there should be a massive reaction to the manner of the draw. We went there, got a clean and got a point. 3 points off forth with a game in hand and we haven't let Sperms get away from us. Objective for the day complete I thinks.....
  9. I'm of the opinion that a score draw or a narrow win is the best result. I wouldn't want a whopping win because it would affect the players mentality for the home leg. We all knwo that when Villa don't put 100% in we can lose to whoever so we need the scores to be reasonably tight in order for the team to take it as seriously as possible.
  10. Watch how mental the linesman goes with his flag after the Diouf tackle. It's like he's having an epi from the strobe advertising boards. "That was a really bad tackle. I think my flag deserves a right good waving for that."
  11. I was contemplating getting a Guzan shirt before this match.....now the deal has been sealed!
  12. I'm very excited about this. Seeing how the supposed 'second string' do. Could be eye-opening...be it one way or another!
  13. Let's not forget that Downing is still gaining full match fitness. I think it's a fine line between knackering the poor sod out and getting him fully fit. But he gives us that bit extra quality, especially when the team has changed so much. I can see him coming off for Albrighton about the same time as the Pool game.
  14. The best thing about our squad at the moment is that we can afford to rest some regular starters and still have a very good team to put out. Guzan, Beye, Collins, NRC, Sidwell and Delph can be played and we'll still have a side better than Blackburn's. Admittedly we lost to them with the first team and players don't necessarily click straight away but you'd have to be confident nonetheless.

Sweet mother of God! Just popped off the last three episodes to the season. What an ending! Had to be Trinity-especially with no explanation of how it happened otherwise. Most disappointing thing from a "feelings" point of view is how easily Trinity accepted it was his time and how Dex doesn't have a revenge angle like another poster said. Immense TV- I think it has some of the best writers around. Bring on Season 5!!

Great work rj. Been a fan of ez's for a while ...Got all three lined up for a mini marathon tomorrow night. In a way, I like having more than one to watch because I normally can't stand to wait a whole week for the next. It's such an awesome TV show. Got everything and I've been an avid viewer since the first season. Plus, I want Julie Benz to be all over me.

Where do you get the episodes from? I've got up to ep. 9 but then mininova when bye-bye and I've been mourning it ever since!
  18. Ronaldo is my all time favourite non-villian. I grew up in the 90's and watching him play was amazing. Every team he's been to he has a phenomenal scoring record and half the time on his clips there isn't even a keeper to beat because he's just flummoxed him and strolled home. The other half of the time he has boomed it in from the edge of the box! Amazing player.
  19. Taking a positive spin on this, considering a lot a people think we don't create many chances, we've only failed to score once this season- on the first day. Obviously it doesn't matter if we concede one very game but still, a positive is a positive!
  20. Brilliant display. Every player in the team seemed to have a different mentality to the last few games we've played -maybe the influence of Nige as Captain perhaps? Great game in all. Nice passing, good runs from midfield. Cracking defensive performance. We looked really, really good today. But in fairness, Bolton were awful. So, just a couple of things that really stood out; Milner has one of the best touches I've ever seen. Sidders definitely raised his game today and played very well. Carew liked it today. We're not very good at penalities. Gardner took longer than usual to get carded. The two Delfs looked very handy when they came on, especially Nathan. Looked quite at home on the ball and finding team mates.
  21. Nah, I have full respect for all the Villa fans that turned up, and at some points we had some good loud ones going. I just thought it was very quiet tonight on the whole. I admit, I'll never be the one to start a song but I'll join in. Just wasn't much to join in to. Plus, I was in the Lower North which only had about 10 people in it in total and was right underneath all the away fans.
  22. Good performance, similar to the Portsmouth game in that the opposition had a lot of purposeful possesion without creating too many threatening chances. We looked good on the counter and did a relatively good job of taking the sting out of Cardiff towards the end. Gabby's goal was fantastic. At first I thought he'd just taken a dodgy touch, then I saw it nutmeg the defender and leave Encks with no chance. Lovely goal. Milner was our best player, Cuellar was an absolute rock, never missed a tackle, always reliable as a last man. Collins immense bar one mistake when he had no options. Shorey looked OK but nothing more. Tripped himself up in the first minute misjudging a long ball but played in a composed manner after that. Always likes to pass inside though. Bit annoying that. Delph was good. One cracking tackle during the first half and I'm beginning to like his ball out to the left wing. Very nice. Gardner had a bit of a mare. Was set up as a right winger but tucked in too deep. Then looked to switch places with Petrov in an attempt to get into a rythmn...didn't work. As such, we had no width on our right and a lot a ball went that way in the ifrst half as Cardiff looked to attack. Last thing...the Cardiff fans were amazing. Very good throughout and well up for it. Made for a good atmosphere, because the Villa fans certainly weren't going to create one.
