  1. could say the exact same about Wesley at the beginning of last season.
  2. exactly that. No doubt if we play a "big 6" team those decisions would go against if we are looking for a pen or if we are conceding a pen
  3. that decision from Luiz cost us the game. Both of those pen shouts turned down at our end get given at the other end. Simple.
  4. Carney & JPB both on the bench tonight. Maybe we’ll see a debut?
  5. I think you are kind of missing the point that a few of us are trying to make here. I don't think any of us disagree we need an upgrade on Ghazi, but if we sell him we would likely be in the market for another winger as well. Why not just keep Ghazi and sign another winger? Smith loves to rotate his winger options and going into the season with Traore, Jack, and New signing as our only winger options is not ideal. Also, I'd love to sign Olise, but I think it's unfair to consider him an upgrade on Ghazi because he hasn't played at the top level (only with Reading in the championship).
  6. this is spot on. I think we can all agree that if the owners are serious, we will need better quality than Ghazi. But he is definitely good enough to be our bench option for the next year or two. In comparison, Everton spent up to 34 mil on Iwobi (4x as much as Ghazi) and he has 1 goal this season
  7. Really hoping for one of the other 3 (not Bournemouth) to win the playoffs. -- Not really a slight against them, but it would be boring to see the same relegated 3 get promoted the following season. Shockingly Sheffield Wednesday are still alive to stay up
  8. zero reason for us to loan Tuanzebe instead of signing a similar player on a permanent (I would even look at Andersen mentioned later on) Would love Rico Henry here but are we going to spend that big on a backup LB? No thanks to billing Definite interest from me in Pereira and Lookman I know he's been through a pretty rough patch, but I would be interested in Barkley at 15 mil or under. (Don't necessarily want him but would be a signing that placates Jack)
  9. Don't really know much about him.
  10. Remember being interested in him after Bruce was sacked but never was going to happen.
  11. Leno apparently wants out now. Bet they wish they didn't sell Emi now
  12. taking this with a grain of salt, but first type of rumor I've seen
  13. that debate is interesting, the NBC analysts over here both picked OW over DCL Though I agree that i think both are going to go
  14. exactly this. They are getting so much return on their investment that they have no real need to sell unless they get a huge offer. (same goes for Arsenal), and exactly who would spend up to 3/4 billion on United/Arsenal/Liverpool when they can buy a Championship/League1/League 2 team for 1% of the price with the opportunity to make the PL and the money from that. I know the money and sponsorship and all of that for one of the "big 6" will dwarf those who dream of making it to the PL, but how long would it take for the prospective buyers to even make a profit? I just don't see how any business person would drop that sort of money on a football club
  15. first game since the turn of the year that he looks physically up to it. Not sure if there was something holding him back but looks miles clearly more fit than he has in the past few games
  16. fair enough, I would've definitely liked to see Davis start as well. But probably would've dropped Traore before Ghazi
  17. genuinely curious, who would you have drop out? Barkley and? (Ghazi or Traore?)
  18. I've not been very thrilled by the idea of signing Tuanzebe but I saw today that he might be available for 7m, which I think would be a snip for us.
  19. agreed with this. I wouldn't mind if we moved him on, but with Grealish's injury problems and Trez doing his acl, I'm not sure I want to only rely on 3 wingers & Trez recovering from the injury. If Ghazi is fine with the same role he has had this year, I would not move him on. I guess the thing would be is Smith okay with going through the season until Jan (at the earliest i would think) with only 3 senior wingers (i'm including Jack here but he also has been out for a few months) and the risk of injury there.
  20. I would've put Davis in for Traore and shifted Watkins to the wing, but other than that, I can see why he picked that lineup.
  21. I remember the same weekend as the March one there was a similar incident for West Brom that got overturned at Old Trafford. I thought that the saying was if you get the ball then that's what matters, but i remember maybe 5 or 6 different situations where the calls were all inconsistent with what we expect.
