    and for me Luiz is the first name in midfield (at least until Nakamba is back) as none of our other midfielders can really play the role linking with defense and the midfield/attackers. I would say that I feel a bit biased against him in that under Smith he felt *undroppable* even when he was going through rough & bad patches and got to play his way out of the slump whereas pretty much no one else got that long of a leash. Not that he isn't a good player mind, but I just don't think he's "head and shoulders" above the rest of our midfielders.

    if we get a bid that is good enough, then I think we sell. in the era of FFP, selling players at a max profit is really how you progress as a club....

    I agree with that, just find it hard to drop him for the next match after a goal & assist in a comeback

    For me Sanson and McGinn are battling for the 3rd midfield spot at the minute

    Their major problem is at the top of the club. The Owner interferes with the footballing side of affairs, and for all that we can tell, the manager was able to overrule the DoF Brands on transfers (until he resigned). They need an actual good structure but who knows if it will actually come.

    will be very interesting to see how Gerrard handles the midfield in the Everton game. Ramsey nailed on to start and I think Luiz is a start for the rest of the year (unless we get another DM / Nakamba returns).... With Smith, McGinn was always a starter, but we'll see under Gerrard. Don't think there's too much between Sanson & him tbh

    Probably my favorite player in the NSWE era -- had to get a kit with his name on it last minute... Always put in a shift, even if he was marked out of the game. Never had anything bad spoken about him, top professional, and made double digit goals when most of us thought he wouldn't have a role. Showed up in the biggest game the Club has had in years and absolutely bossed it, and I will always be thankful for that -- especially that he broke his fast so he could be in the best condition for the Playoff final. Really hope he gets to have a proper send off at VP sometime
