  1. I got the 3D bluray all ready to watch in bed tonight. I watched it tonight. For some reason I wasn't expecting to enjoy it but I was very wrong. Stunning visuals, lots of explosions and non-stop action. Loved it.
  2. I must confess, I had thoughts along similar lines the other day but was coming at it from a different angle. One of the commentators made reference to the fact that the Irish games were at the biggest stadiums to satisfy their fans ticket requirements so I did a little compare. Ireland play at Wembley, Olympic park, millennium stadium x2. Wales play all their games at the Millenium stadium. England obviously play all their games at Twickenham. Scotland play at Gloucester, Leeds and Newcastle x2. I know Newcastle could be argued on the basis of location but it hardly seems fair to me (a bitter, chip-on-the-shoulder Scot).
  3. Has anyone ever responded to a PlasticMan post and not got a like for it?
  4. You know what they say about words said in jest... Edit: On the use of bags, it's very rare that I don't take a bag for life with me when going shopping and when doing a week/fortnight shop I use the bags for life that are kept in the boot of the car. I really don't think it's a terribly difficult thing for people to get in to the habit of doing. I suspect it was around the time when the Welsh implemented the rule but the Tesco near me went through a phase of removing the carrier bags from the checkouts in a bid to reduce the numbers needed ... it lasted about 3 days by which point presumably people had complained sufficiently about the inconvenience it was causing them ... maybe the charge will encourage them to do the obvious and carry bags with them from now on What Tesco will do in England is exactly what they did in Wales and Scotland. They'll remove all the bags-for-life from sale as they'll make a lot more money selling the 5p ones.

In case of emergency, break glass:
  6. Having seen them last week against a particularly inept Brentford, it is clear that they don't possess anything like the wherewithal to go up. Their current position will, by the end of the season, have proved to be their high-point.
  7. Count yourself lucky. My friends stopped asking me this question years ago. They now just dive straight in with things like "When are you going to get over your commitment phobia?". This might be acceptable if I had such a phobia but most of them were encouraging me to end my last relationship (with good reason - which wasn't commitment-related!).
  8. Caught this last night on Netflix. Really lovely:
  9. Can't agree. I've spent a large proportion of my life in Wales and think their anti-English sentiment is rather mild. (I am Scottish though so maybe not objective on the matter )
  10. Trying hard to come up with a criticism. Not enough Smell. Other that that, pretty much perfect.
  11. I thought Max was going to be driving for Haas?
  12. So, given McLaren's admission that they were 3 years behind the curve, HAAS and Manor with good engines, should we expect that JB will be bringing up the rear next year?
  13. I had to endure that a number of times on Tuesday night and it really was painful. I'm not normally one for tribalism in football and generally don't have the level of antipathy that is often prevalent in here but they really are an 'orrible bunch. Every other song was "**** on the Villa" and their fans were constantly trying to get a rise out of the Brentford fans. As for their team, the looked awful. If it weren't for the fact that their opposition were woeful, they wouldn't have stood a chance. They didn't even mount an attack of any significance until half way through the second half.
  14. I had so many pairs of these in the 90s. I don't think even nostalgia would make me buy another pair though. I am tempted by these bad boys though:
  15. Not as good as asking if they have a copy of "How to deal with disappointment without resorting to violence".
  16. Rappers maybe? I do believe I saw that in a documentary on BBC2
  17. I was on the receiving end of something similar a while back. On three separate occasions I found water coming through my kitchen ceiling from the flat above. Silly bint in the flat above refused to answer the door each time even though I knew she was in. Ignored all my notes through the door and when I got the managing agents involved she flat-out denied anything had ever happened. Repairs at my cost, naturally.
  18. Fair do's - I can see that, given the storylines. I should have probably gone back and watched from the beginning before I started 90 too. I'd forgotten so many of the storylines in previous series.
  19. Really? If you look through the last few pages, all you find out is: 1. A curtain fell 2. Desi1 cried 3. Most people think it's very good 4. Pong's missus got a smack in the chops If thems are spoilers......
  20. I'm not sure I can think of a show that is so visceral. I feel like I'm holding my breath for the entirety.
  21. Almost wish I hadn't watched This is England tonight. Not sure I can wait a whole week for the denouement.
