  1. Anthea effing Turner. She's always annoyed me and I've always thought she was a fatuous, vacuous individual but I've had the misfortune of having her sat directly behind me at a rugby match tonight and she really is insufferable. Didn't once look at the pitch but sat talking absolute nonsense in the loudest tone possible to her two companions all night. I'm not a man given to anger but I came close to violence tonight. Detestable woman.
  2. Oddly I was thinking of Thom Yorke, asked 27 questions and then it told me I was thinking of fashion designer Paul Smith.
  3. I believe simon Pegg to be a talentless word removed. I **** despise the clearing in the woods. He isnt a funny man he is dreadful. I also made the mistake of reading his biography, nerd do well thinking it may change my opinion of him, it made it worse. Talentless? Have you seen Hot Fuzz? Getdafuqouttahere! Who made you Judge Judy and executioner?
  4. Makes Gestede's price look even more of a bargain. If Austin is worth 15 then Gray is worth 9. I saw him about a dozen times last year and he really is very good. Madness that he was playing non-league not that long ago. (Then we get Gestede for less than that and the logic comes crashing down.)
  5. Mad that Bristol had £9M. 100% not mad that Gray has gone for that sort of money. Very, very good player that.
  6. Can anyone genuinely outfox the Akinator?
  7. The very model of a well run club. Massively involved in their local community, running the club responsibly and not standing for any nonsense (ref Laudrup). I've a few friends that work for the club and they all tell me it's a pleasure working there. They expect the very best from their staff (playing and non-playing) but recognise and reward when they get it. On the pitch, Gary Monk appears to be doing a fantastic job. Building a really strong side there and imbuing a sense of loyalty within the players. Considering how recently they came up, they've done great in building on that every year.
  8. (I'm not expecting many to get the reference)
  9. It's something like that. Not domain, something that sounds like mediaeval French, like 'desmaigne', but not that. I think demesne is the word you were trying for, but it's curtilage. Live and learn, eh? I'm blaming the cockney builders I was working with last year Edit : although demise is also "a transfer of an estate by lease" which makes sense of it in the context I heard it in (although sadly makes me no more right in proffering it as an answer to BOF).
  10. Seeing my wee mate in the paper. I've looked after him every weekend since he was five and he's an absolute legend:
  11. A few shots from a day on the south coast. Think I need a better lens as they're a bit grubby. Either that or I could actually learn how to use my camera properly Particularly enjoyed seeing this bad boy: Other highlights: The data on the MiG was indeed, inaccurate.
  12. So we now might be announcing this tomorrow? Is that the same tomorrow that we're announcing Adebayor?
  13. Am I the only one seeing a gorilla ice-rink here?

  15. No idea how legit this is: From here
  16. My girlfriend asked me to stop singing Wonderwall all the time. I said maybe......
  17. Discovered the best dessert in the entire world at the weekend. It's an Argentinian dish called Rogel. Layers of puff pastry with dulce de leche in between each layer, topped with a fantastically soggy meringue. If I wasn't diabetic before, I will be soon.
  18. I didn't get where I am today without acknowledging the death of David Nobbs. RIP
  19. Idea stolen from another forum. I know there's lots of us with an interest in other teams so I thought it would be good to hear about other games you've been to this season. So let's hear you match reports from Kidderminster Harriers, Barry Town or any other match you've been to. I'll start with my trip this afternoon to a gloriously sunny Griffin Park this afternoon. Brentford, with their moneyball approach, have exceeded expectations in the last couple of seasons but it looked like their new manager was in for a tough debut this afternoon with Ipswich controlling the game throughout. Mick McCarthy was on good form, slaughtering his team for every mistake and sharing jokes and heated exchanges with the home fans throughout. Brentford played their usual free-flowing football in fits and starts but never looked like scoring. On 90 minutes, it was two-nil to Ipswich and the whole crowd thought that the Gray goal on 92 minutes was nothing more than a consolation until three minutes later, Tarkowski scored the equaliser. Ipswich were absolutely mugged and the Villa result made it an even more enjoyable afternoon.
  20. Enter The Dragon was number 1 on the day I was born. I'll take that
  21. http://www.whoscored.com/Players/134095/Show/Moses-Odubajo not much to go off. those stats aren't exactly pants-wetting. True, and I'm in no way suggesting we are the unnamed club, but I thought I read somewhere a few months back that he was a potential target. Widely accepted to be Hull by most Brentford fans. "Unnamed PL club" Good point, well made sir. The talk is/was that Adubajo was already with Hull but I think that's fairly speculative. The chat on the Grapevine (Brentford's version of VT) was that Hull had bid for Moses and Andre Gray but had offered £9m for the pair. Brentford value Gray alone at that much.
