  1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_for_the_New_American_Century Condy, Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, Cheney all say hi. Let's export Democracy around the world they said. An inconvenient by-product will be $$ from tax payers (i.e. those too poor to afford expensive accountants) will be transferred to multi national arms corporations and their shareholders. But lets not advertise that because thats important right now. But Democracy yay! (even if a few folks die along the way.) It's just so, transparent.
  2. Nuno showing he really is a good manager. Perfectly set up to play against City.
  3. Take all the pantomime out of it all, he's a Villa lad, we made him and City aren't our rivals at the moment. It's hard for me not to want him to do well - He's just a like-able lad. Especially compared to so many rocket polisher footballers.
  4. He's 15. FIFTEEN and playing in the u23's. That's a hell of a lot of confidence to have in someone who is only FIFTEEN.
  5. A lot of it is filmed at the Black Country Museum in Dudley. A "living" museum and well worth a day out of you're from the W Mids.
  6. Uncle Albert strutting his stuff for QPR tonight against Leyton Orient.
  7. Here's a Vital Villa podcast interview with Keith Wyness. https://anchor.fm/total-villan/episodes/Secrets-of-an-Aston-Villa-CEO-w-Keith-Wyness--Grealish--Bruce-Exclusives-e15eu8s/a-a69ces5 https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-vital-villa-podcast-an-aston-villa-podcast/id1533584929?i=1000531045942 TLDR; he blames Xia for everything but doesn't go into any real specifics. Has some interesting stuff to say about McCormack.
  8. Al Jazira is funded by the Qatar government so naturally I'm skeptical of it. It just boils my piss that men like Samuleson, who went to expensive schools and made the right connections are allowed to rip the guts out of something that is so precious to so many - just for their own personal gain. He should be set upon by a mob of supporters from Reading & Aston Villa. He almost destroyed us and he wouldn't have batted an eyelash.
  9. This is very the Villa part starts (and the aforementioned commentary)
  10. OT, but I've never heard that John Motson commentary of Peter Withe's goal in the final. Where did that come from or which broadcast?
  11. I'm guessing you mean wiki? Isn't that different from a traditional Encyclopedia?
  12. Does anyone use an encyclopedia these days? (This is from someone who was really excited about getting "The Joy of Knowledge" subscription every week.)
  13. I disagree. It was always quite a good game when I was growing up. Utd took it seriously under Ferguson. didn't Newcastle spank them 4 or 5 nil after the famous "love it" Keegan year? It was somewhat of a grudge match in the 90's
  14. Whats somewhat sad is that the original fans of Man City were pretty loyal. It didn't have a hug fan base especially compared to United and they were somewhat of a yoyo club in the PL days. Now obviously they have millions of plastics because of the success (I have no idea which camp you are in.) But the sadness is that the original fans were bribed, unknowingly. Yes, we will come and buy you Robinho! We will buy you Aguero! we will spend on transfer fees and wages the GDP of small countries over a 10 year period. We will give money to local charities! We do all of this because we are benevolent: we are good people whoo believe in philanthropy and the power of sport to solve all social ills! Nah - they have spent all of the money to sportswash the brand of their country which commits horrific human rights abuses and they know that they are in a PR battle. If you want to believe that somehow their heart is in the right place, then I am afraid to tell you that you are deluding yourself. It's not really your fault, or other original fans of City. They dangled all these shiny nice things in front of you and having been not a very successful club for decades, and having a neighbor and closest rival having untold success, it's easy to see why you would be ecstatic. But sadly it's all an awful, awful lie. It is also helping destroy a beautiful game that we all (and I'm sure you also) absolutely love. How many teams will be left if the status quo continues? A Super League of 4? Where does it end? Quite honestly i would be horrified if this had happened to Aston Villa. We were founded in 1874 not 2010 (or whenever you were taken over.) I know you will try and defend it but It is all just so very, very sad.
