  1. The standard of the bugle playing at the football grounds this weekend. The one right now in Newcastle is absolutely atrocious. 3 of them playing and not one of them is in tune.
  2. I enjoyed this. What a freakin' pyscho. Makes me terrified to see a doctor.
  3. My greatest fear is some nut job walking into my sons school (he's 2 1/2.) Those poor parents at Sandy Hook.
  4. Thank you for saying this. Bond purists and friend of mine who are Bond enthusiasts and who's opinion I value, all agree that Dalton was the best Bond and most true to the books. He was hampered by poorly funded movies (compared to the Stallone/Swarzenegger extravaganzas of the day) and also it was the height of the Aids crisis. There was a concerted effort to minimize Bond's sexscapades which made both movies seem like PG wet noodles. He nailed the character - the scripts and story were very so so.
  5. My wife was in the Broadway Orchestra and I played there a lot too. I have a soft spot for the show and I'm excited to see what they do with the movie. A lot of the tunes have grown on me over the years. There are actually a lot of prevalent points in the story that resonate loudly in today's world of Trump, racism and fake news BS. Also the beginning of the VT meme of 'no socks Stevo' was when @Stevo985 came to NYC and I gave him a backstage tour (KW please.) There's a pic of me and him - I am wearing knee high, rat-repellant, steel toe-capped winter clogger boots. Stevo is in loafers sans socks the goddamn big girls blouse.
  6. What questions would you ask him out of interest? Honest question.
  7. I'm sure I'll regret this as it seems a general consensus has been reached. We shouldn't sack him. He's had a bad month of results in an otherwise successful 3 years (relative to where we we when we met.) Pre-season was a disaster and he hasn't been able to bed in the new purchases due to injury and illness. The backroom shake ups have also had a huge effect and that needs to be sorted, but sacking a manager after 5 or so bad games is a fools game. Before anyone says it been since last season, well, we lost our star player for months due to injury last year. It would be foolish to sack him now he needs to be backed. Also, who the actual flip is out there to come in and improve us? I haven't read or heard one single suggestion who could do that.
  8. Gonna sound daft, but growing up Midlands Today, Central TV, Garry Newbon and all of that 6pm TV was a huge part of my life. As was waiting for the Express & Star to arrive through the letterbox around 4:30pm. When I read about it I can't help but feel a pang of nostalgia
  9. Started Succession a few days ago when I was holed up in bed with manflu. Almost finished season 2. Logan has become less of a jerk in S2 and I preferred the unfettered nasty git of S1.
  10. Well, probably good idea to steer clear of on topic for a few weeks.
  11. The ball literally bounce off Cash's arse perfectly for their striker
  12. Ollie on his heels there. Wouldn't have happened last season
  13. Yeah. Instead of tightening things up - maybe go 4141 he's got even more attacking players on the pitch and it's not working
  14. In 10 mins I have a zoom meeting to discuss department "by-laws." I was going to blow it off but maybe it will be more enjoyable? By-laws or Villa?
